- This mixer stands out from others in several ways, primarily because it is equipped with a companion app that provides several additional smart functions. For instance, the app can weigh what's in the bowl and detect the torque from the mixing head, adjusting its mixing power accordingly. The GE Profile Smart Mixer has an 11-speed motor with Auto Sense Technology that can distinguish between mixing cake batter, kneading dough, and whipping cream by sensing resistance in the bowl. This technology controls the motor's torque and speed, supposedly creating the perfect texture for your recipe. Additionally, it can automatically stop when the dough reaches the perfect firmness to prevent over-mixing, a common mistake that can ruin a recipe.

To use the GE Profile 7-Quart Smart Mixer with Auto Sense, you need to prepare and connect a few components. The mixer is quite heavy and weighs over 53 pounds, so it can be challenging to move. The package includes the weighty mixer motor, a stainless steel bowl with a handle, a pouring spout/mixing shield, and three attachments, including the 11-wire whisk, a batter beater, and a dough hook. Seating the bowl in the mixer arm is a bit different than other mixers. Two angled levers poke out from underneath the C-shaped mixing bowl seat. To release the bowl, place your thumbs on both levers at the same time and push down. To keep the bowl in place, push the levers up and click them.
Next, you need to pair your GE Profile smart mixer with your home's Wi-Fi network using the GE Smart HQ app. After logging into or creating an account, plug in your mixer to begin the pairing process. The app will guide you through the steps, and you should be connected in just a few clicks. The app and the wireless connectivity enable you to cook using guided or auto sense recipes.
Guided recipes are recipes that are provided step-by-step for you to get the most out of your mixer. The app will guide you through the steps and even take weights of ingredients to assist you. Auto sense recipes, on the other hand, allow the mixer to monitor and detect changes in viscosity of your batter or dough, using measurements of the motor's torque. This feedback is used to optimize mixing, whipping, and emulsifying, theoretically providing perfect results every time.
You can operate the mixer in two ways. The first is on the mixer itself by using the LED-lighted dial and a small screen on top of the machine to select speeds and see what's going on. The other way is to control it with your smartphone. However, while you can set the speed and duration of your mixing on the app, you still need to go to the mixer itself and touch the start button on top of the machine for the commands to take effect. The mixer is not completely autonomous, which can be seen as a safety feature. Attaching and detaching the components is easy, with the attachments simply pushing and locking up and in, and removing them by pushing the ring holding them in place, up. The connection feels quite secure, even more so than the twist and drop connections that KitchenAid uses. - Наука та технологія
Would be good if they made a dumb version with scale also.
Feels great to see the review of the product that I have contributed for its design development. ❤
Very exciting! I'm looking forward to the next generation. And maybe spending more time with one...
At 799.00 it's just a few more dollars then an ankarsrum mixer. Who knows GE might give both companies a run for their money. I have both so, I'll be looking forward to getting one of these in the future.
Thanks very much for making this video!!! I’ve been dying to see who’s review this mixer
Great review both in terms of content and delivery. Well done.
Thank you for that awesome presentation on the GE mixer. Good info. The torque senser and temperture control and the ability to weigh in products as you go certainly is a plus, but for 1000 dollars?? not too sure. I think i would still go for the kitchen aid 600 pro series. Be safe my friend. 11/25/2023
Glad it was helpful!
I'm actually acdepting donations for this machine😁
Bold of GE to challenge KitchenAid. Thanks for the video Erin!
You bet! Thanks for watching!
You think kitchenaide is good ? Then you aren’t a serious baker. There are far better mixers that are countertop but they are European
what is the watts of the motor?
Have you ever reviewed the Ankarsrum Assistent stand mixer? I've heard good things and was curious about your take?
I haven't heard of it. I will have to look it up!
Thanks Erin.
Thanks Ron!
I got a coupon from King Arthur Baking for $200. At $599 it's getting closer to a normal kitchen mixer. However I will wait a few years for the prices to come down. I will own one in the future.
My very first KitchenAid was purchased back in 2020 & believe it or not, it was $219 & it wasn’t even on sale before they raised the price!
Wow, nice!
Not worth it to spend a thousand dollar. I do the mixing that’s it. Thanks for sharing Erin!
Agreed, thanks for watching!
Sure wish I could find a site with attachments for it 😂
Can you use mixer without app but with scale ?
Oh interesting question… I didn't try it like that. For that answer you might have to go direct to the manufacturer.
I couldn't afford it even if I really was good at baking, thanks for the vid but now after watching this I am hungry so I am off to get something to eat 😄
Hahaha, enjoy!
So… GE is going to mix it up with Kitchen Aid and Cuisinart?
I think so!
Looks like the Pepsi Kids who use their phones for everything will gladly waste their $$$ on this.
$499 right now at most stores with free delivery
I think this will give Kitchenaid a run for it’s money.
But is the engine good enough ? Who cares about the smart specs if it burns out after a year.
I'd love to report back, but I had to send the loaner back. :/
Its basically a one trick pony - I think investing in a Thermomix is a better option.
Fair.
Not worth $1,000. Happy with my KitchenAid!
Fair enough!
Thing will be in the trash in 5 years. Meanwhile my 20 year old KitchenAid is still going strong.
That would be some expensive trash!
Oh? Congrats, you've consumed the KitchenAid koolaid like a good little petulant boy.
No thanks. This is an excellent example of gratuitous technology.
