If it casts easier than the original game changers, I'm all about it! The game changer is such a great fly pattern, but when wet it's like trying to cast a wooden plug...
Pat does a good job of clearly and thoroughly explaining the process. The videography is good and helps with the explanation as well. References to other videos with explanations on specific sub topics are helpful. Only recommendation I can make is to maybe add some content about how fishing the fly properly.
Great looking fly and Pat's tying ability and teaching clarity is excellent. Keep up the great production. The photography was excellent and I could see all I needed to see. Kudos to MRO for a great educational video program.
When you make very long GC’s do you tend to taper the back fish spines smallest to largest and then using a medium or the largest spine afterwards until you reach your desired length? I actually caught an 8” gizzard shad on a leech pattern while back when trying to fish for Stripers. I would like to imitate the shad in larger sizes.
How would you tell what size leader to use for an articulated fly like this? It seems like it would be different than the usual rule based on hook size.
And after all that it doesn't imitate how fish actually swim. It swims like a reptile (or eel I guess). Luckily fish are dumb enough to still eat it. Actually I partially take that back. On a fast straight retrieve it looks more fish like.
Thanks for checking out this fly tying tutorial! What do you think of this Polar Fiber Game Changer?

Exc video!! Body tubing protects hackles, but have you experienced toothy critter teeth hooking on the body tubing and messing it/fly up?
Thanks for watching. Please send questions directly to the shop via e-mail or give them a call and they will be happy to help.
What size tippet you use for small mouth? I imagine they just slam this bait. Just a typical streamer rig?
Tippet sizes are typically matched to the fly and not the fish. Please contact the shop directly and they will be happy to help you with this. Thanks.

Do the basic math on the front hook size and then add 1 or 2 thousandths to the largest number.
I'd be sick if I lost this fly ! I just don't have that much time on earth to make another ...
That's why we sell them as well.
