Ross never cheated, but Rachel was an awful, horrible person and the worst character on the show, and deserved all the bad that happened to her and more! Period! Yes - sorry not sorry! She was awfully jealous of every single girl who got close to Ross, ruined all his relationships, and was way more toxic to him than he was to her.
Rachel gave Ross and Julie bad sex advice to break them up, called Julie ugly slurs behind her back, wanted to ruin her appearance so she gave Phoebe false instructions on how to ruin Julie's hair, and finally, Rachel had no problem kissing Ross when he was with Julie, so clearly cheating was not a problem when the guy was cheating with her lol
Rachel also insulted Bonnie behind her back even tho she didn't know her, and ruined Bonnie's appearance just like she did with Julie, but what is worse, and never talked about in the context of Bonnie's and Ross' relationship, is how Rachel started openly flirting with Ross in the beach house! When Monica actually was the one showing concern about how Rachel could behave awfully this way, Rachel admitted to Monica in the beach house that she doesn't care if Bonnie is Ross' current girlfriend, she had the whole plan to get him back!
Yet Rachel was the one who literally broke up with him! Then she right away got together with Mark, Ross called drunk from the bar and heard Mark on the phone in Rachel's apartment. Right after Chloe appeared, took advantage of drunk Ross, so Ross never cheated and had every reason to be angry, but Rachel actually had zero problem with destroying the relationships of other people and cheating!
And it's a zero problem for her fans too but oh, suddenly Rachel is a poor victim who was cheated on when she broke up with Ross - period; and he was drunk. These fans are pathetic, just as Rachel was, and especially Rachel's female feminist fans, who never talk about how horribly she treated other women on the show, and how she had no problem with cheating but they cry about how Ross ' cheated on her'.
She was crazy possessive towards Ross, all the things that she did to Julie, Bonnie, Emily, the girl from the shop - the list goes on and on. She lied, and she tricked Ross into marrying her in Vegas, it was her idea, but she blamed it all on Ross!
She sexually harassed Tag during his first job interview, she lied to her father about Ross not wanting to marry her when she told him about the pregnancy, and yet the truth was the opposite: Ross literally proposed the marriage to her in the hospital the first day she told him about her pregnancy, and she rejected the offer. As a result of these lies, Rachel's dad almost ruined Ross' relationship with Mona! Ross, on his part, was literally just worried about Mark, and turns out, he was dead on about Mark!
This is why the Hugh Laurie scene on the plane is my favorite moment on Friends ever -finally, someone actually told the truth about the insufferable, spoiled, hypocritical narcissist that Rachel always was, and to her face! She was by far the worst, most toxic, most hypocritical character on this show! And her fans are all these things too. Ross deserved so so much better!
"How come he don't want me, man?" This scene never fails to break my heart. Even Ben Vereen, who played Will's deadbeat dad, had tears in his eyes as he was exiting the scene, since as a father himself, he could never imagine abandoning them.

I came here for this. This Line was so real. It really hit Home for so many Americans. the Fresh Prince of Belair was an incredible TV show and Will Smith is still an incredible actor. I don’t give a damn what he did. People slap people all day. We expect our actors and actresses to be anything but normal human beings? That’s outrageous.
We hold Will Smith accountable for his actions but we don’t hold our police and politicians accountable for theirs and that’s what’s shameful about this country

OMG ... I remember when that episode of "The One Where Ross And Rachel Take A Break" and the follow up episode with the fallout. That's when I knew even though I no longer rooted for Ross to have his happily ever after with Rachel, the level of acting between David Schwimmer & Jennifer Aniston was top notch that these two talented actors did not appear to be acting, that's how real it felt.
Just curious, where was the fallout between Will Truman & Grace Adler when Grace backs out on having a baby with Will because she "ran into" Leo in the park? That's another great dramatic scene on a comedy and if I'm not mistaken, it's the episode that finally won Debra Messing her first Emmy.
The biggest betrayal to me is that the writers of Friends decided to get Ross & Rachel back together in the 10th season. 😂 Those two were so bad for each other. A classic case of 2 characters that bring out the worst in each other.
I hate when shows put people back together in the finales that didn’t work. They’d break up in real life shortly after but you gotta please your fans I guess lol

BIG BANG THEORY- Raj (almost) has a drunken affair with Penny.
HOGAN'S HEROES- a one-off character tries to betray the OSS operation to the Third Reich in exchange for preferential treatment.
ALL IN THE FAMILY- Archie comes close to an affair with a barmaid.
BARNEY MILLER- Little Levitt makes anonymous about the 12th Precinct staff.
MASH- a one-off character tries to get Col. Potter fired with bogus complaints.
FRASIER- Niles has a quickie with Lilith! (Couldn't believe that one myself!)
The good place twist is still a super shocking twist non the less and that why many love it

I still say Moesha when Frank admitted that he hid a 18 year afair that fathered Dorian after Aunt Hattie admitted Frank was Dorian's son . Yet Frank always judged everything his kids did.Especially Mo . As well as that cliffhanger . We never found out who kidnapped Myles who's pegnancy test Aaron found in the trash and what Mo and Hakeem had to tell Frank

Dan cheating on his diet doesn't shock me, it's the big, blowout fight that he and Roseanne had over it. Just watching that was scary. I am basically on Roseanne's side since Dan should be taking better care of himself, but Dan has a point that Roseanne can be too controlling

When Rachel said "We need a break from us", that means THEY WERE ON A BREAK. Ross did nothing wrong.
The problem wasn’t the question of whether or not they were on a break, but rather whose definition of a break was the right one. Rachel’s definition was to take a pause to reevaluate their existing relationship, Ross definition was that there was no longer a relationship at all. Maybe things would’ve been different if they agreed on what a break meant, maybe not. We will never know
What about Chandler betraying joey by kissing kathy?

Time away: We are still together but need to be apart for a bit
Break: We are no longer mutually exclusive but there may still be something there I.e. Not calling each other exes yet.
Break up: Officially calling each other exes.

the first time I watched it I hated her. Second time I resented him. I can’t remember exactly but I think she didn’t want to break up she just wanted to go to San Fran for a year or something and he ended it. you gotta let people pursue their passion or they’ll resent you for it
@@theseinstrumentals Lily went behind Marshall's back, she secretly signed up for art lessons without talking to him about it. She didn't even tell him, an acceptance message did. Marshall wanted Lily to promise him that she wouldn't break his art but she didn't promise at all.

"can you promise me we'll still be together in a year?" or something like that. and she wouldn't or maybe even couldn't, it's a hard thing to promise. and i totally see his side, would she want to wait a year on a maybe?

I think the problem was she blamed herself and thought she did something wrong when she didn't, she was setting boundaries and Ross crossed them. Then their argument happened and due to what he said she blamed herself and thought she needed to make amends. And clearly HE didn't think they were actually broken up because he still called Rachel his girlfriend the next morning. So yes, it was a betrayal because even HE knew he screwed up and knew that if Rachel found out he did what he assumed Rachel was doing with Mark he'd be a hypocrite. Ross cheated on Rachel, and he knew he did. Rachel could've slept with Mark but she didn't, and Ross cheated on Rachel because of his jealousy towards Mark when she told him on the phone that Mark was there. Rachel was never interested in Mark, but Ross viewed him as a threat anyway. Instead of taking the time to think Ross reacted.

She literally said it to him: 'a break from us', and btw, she also told Monica the next morning she did break up with Ross. It isn't up for a dispute, she did. Also, it's a lie Ross didn't think they were broken up, he did, and he literally says it. You know when? When he is drinking at the bar before Chloe appears, he is talking to Joey and Chandler at the bar about this whole mess, and Ross literally tells the guys in this scene that Rachel broke up with him. So again, it shows how Rachel's defenders and fangirls don't actually remember crucial scenes or didn't watch the show.

Lol the office is literally a series of awkward interactions so it’s funny to me that people hate that plot. Not a fan of the show myself. I wouldn’t say the dad on FPOBA leaving without Will was shocking either but it was the saddest thing I’ve ever seen on tv easily.

i appreciate that you guys showed the critical point and were fair about the ross/rachel thing. she clarified the break for him, obviously they both didn't get the same message, and ross did indeed think she was seeing someone else that same night. he called to reconcile and the dude ross knew wanted to get in her pants was at the apartment alone with her when he called.
people also like to say that he went out looking for someone to bang or "he was waiting for a technicality" which isn't true either. they ripped each other's hearts out there and both of them made some big mistakes.

They didn't break up though, she needed a break from him, not the relationship. There's nothing wrong with needing a little space especially with how Ross had been acting. Rachel set boundaries when it came to her job and Ross crossed them, multiple times. Taking a break is like staying at a friends house if you're having a tough time in your relationship and need time to think and collect yourself so you can talk to your partner calmly. If it was a break up she wouldn't have still been in love with him and would've easily been able to sleep with Mark. She needed time, not to separate.

Which she admits to at the end of the episode, in the scene when Ross gives her the divorce papers to sign. So Rachel once again being selfish, lying, hypocritical narcissist she always was on this show!
There's no doubt that Rachel broke up with Ross, she clearly didn't even want to be in a relationship anymore for a while, using her career as a excuse, they shouldn't even got back together, she didn't deserve love from anyone

Ross and Rachel WERE on a break but that still does not justify him cheating on her. Even if the roles were reversed (Rachel cheated on Ross) it would still not be justified. They were on a break, they didn't break up!

Ross was at fault and I will die on this hill. The only reason they were on a break in the first place was because he was so insecure and didn’t like that his girlfriend had a career she cared about, and wouldn’t just drop everything for him. And then, when Rachel said to take a break, he just stormed out without even stopping to set out what ‘on a break’ meant. And then, when he realised that Mark was at Rachel’s apartment (yes admittedly bad call by her there), he turned around and did that to get back at her. Rachel ultimately did nothing wrong other than put her trust in the wrong man.
She was pretty clear she was dumping him there. Ross wasn’t upset because she had a career he wasn’t comfortable with the closeness to another guy. When she said we need to take a break Ross was the one that said you are right we can step back and come back to this later and she stood there like no that’s not it and so she made it abundantly clear.
Yes, Ross took too much crap on this. I think every guy who watched that scene felt the same way. When it comes down to it, she was saying, “I don’t want to be with you” and after all the time they had spent together that’s a pretty big rejection, particularly when he calls her later and she’s already BEING WITH someone else. It was obvious to him he’d been replaced, and pretty damn quickly. If the roles had been reversed, I’m confident that she wouldn’t have gotten as much crap.
It seems to me everyone took Rachel’s side in that, so I recall feeling giddy with joy when Hugh Laurie, on the plane ride to England, listened to her story, gave her a “the reason you suck” speech, and ended with a emphatic “AND YOU WERE ON A BREAK!”
Exactly, this is why I can never defend Ross during this because he didn't even wait 24 hours before sleeping with someone else. He didn't even give Rachel a chance to deal with her emotions. Ross just stormed out because he didn't get his way. Rachel wanted some time to herself to think. She had the right to that. Taking a break was a way for her to do that. And she explained to him that just because she wanted to take a break didn't mean she didn't still love him, she wanted time to think so she wouldn't resent him for his behavior. Did she contact Mark? Yes, but not to sleep with him, although she could have, but she didn't. She just needed someone there to listen and talk to. Mark crossed the line. Ross was so insecure that he couldn't handle Rachel having another attractive male friend outside of the friend group. He didn't trust Mark even though Mark him gave no reason not to, he could've crossed lines and hit on Rachel but he didn't until Rachel and Ross went on the break. Literally all of this could've been avoided if Ross had just took the time to listen to Rachel and understand what was important to her and supported her rather than try to intrude when she explicitly told him not to. His jealousy was always an issue and it started with Paolo.
Obviously there were many things that led up to this point including Rachel's jealousy of Julie and trying to sabotage their relationship after she found out how Ross felt. Then the list Ross made. Most of the issues between them were about miscommunication. But the "We were on a break" issue was all Ross. He got too needy. There are times when couples won't see each other a lot during the week because of work, and sometimes many weeks, it all depends on the job and the demands of the job, and she enjoyed hers. Ross gave absolutely no time to breathe before he slept with someone else. Rachel literally said she needed time to think and they should take a break, she needed her space because she didn't have a lot because of how busy she had been. Ross assumed, even though Rachel made it clear, that she meant breaking up, but if she had meant that she would've said it. Season 3 turned the tide for Rachel and Ross, and in my opinion she should've stayed on the plane. I swear having Emma was just a way for the writers to force them back together, even though Joey was there for Rachel already, and because of his large family having only sisters, he was literally the perfect person to help Rachel. Rachel was fine without Ross.
@@bullshark3771 if you watch the episodes again, even after Mark leaves the company Ross is demanding and jealous of her time, trying to force Rachel to spend time with him rather than deal with important work, turning up at her work and guilting her for not dropping everything to spend time with him.
Ross NEVER cheated! And it's not up for a dispute, it's a FACT! Rachel broke up with Ross, she said it to him, said it the next morning to Monica, and then the next morning she went to Ross' apartment and asked him if she could be his girlfriend again - so she did break up with him, period! Ross was sure of it when he was drinking and talking to Chandler and Joey at the bar, and then called Rachel, and she was with damn Mark! And this is why Ross was 1000% right about Mark, Mark later, also actually did take Rachel on a date, and said he always wanted to, so exactly what Ross thought about Mark since day 1. Ross also carried the trauma from Carol cheating on him - and this is why it happened, you simply have no empathy and understanding for what Ross was going through! He already lost Carol, and he had a very real fear that Mark was going to take Rachel away from him. and Rachel was not a saint herself. She acted way more toxic and awful to Ross before - when he was with Julie, and later to Bonnie or Emily, she ruined all of his relationships! but don't get the truth getting in the way of your delusions!
Ross got drunk and slept with Chloe who used him when he was drunk. So drunken mistake not cheating. Completely different from Carol who cheated plain and simple. Also, Ross and Rachel were not married, Carol and Ross were, so Carol also broke the marriage vow. And again: Rachel was awful to Ross before, with Julie, etc, she made a lot of mistakes in this relationship as well, didn't want to understand Ross' fear coming from Carol's cheating, and again Ross was drunk and used by Chloe. He never wanted to sleep with her. This is why Rachel forgave him and got back with Ross at the end, she knew this.
To me, it doesn’t matter if Ross and Rachel were on a break or not. They were in love and whether or not he believed Rachel was sleeping with Mark, he had no business sleeping with some stranger. If you truly love someone, you should be working towards being with that person and working on your own flaws. He should have gone home and calmed down. Regather his thoughts and made a plan for his future with Rachel. Instead, he gets drunk and has a fling. That says something about a person’s priorities. That’s what I find most upsetting about his behavior. A person in love wouldn’t do something like that. They would either be very stupid or a teenager.
yes, he got drunk and was used by Chloe, so he never wanted to sleep with her. if it was a drunk girl used by a guy, you would talk differently. And it does matter - the circumstances and mistakes do matter. it makes us human, genius. we are not robots, no one is perfect. Ross loved Rachel, and she was hardly a saint too, she was way more jealous and awful to him. Ross didn't act like a teenager, he was right about Mark and he had a trauma because of Carol, you genius. He never cheated - she broke up with him, he was drunk and Chloe used him. And this is why Rachel forgave Ross and they get back together.
I never watched the office but for that episode it was probably better that the kids pass high School they can still get to college with loans and whatnot 🤷♀️ just an honest opinion
