FUN FACT: the door chime is the letter "H" in Morse code. Like in H for Honda lol. Going to miss that chime. TSX is called Honda Accord Euro, they have it and the American Accord sold together.
I have owned Honda Preludes, Acura Legend GS and RSX going back to 1983; and in many ways, my 2012 TSX Sport Wagon is the finest Honda I have owned...love the Civic SI motor, the suspension, the build quality and the utility of a wagon while still fun to drive. With 35k on the clock, I hope to enjoy mt TSX for years to come. The other cool thing: I can go for weeks without seeing another TSX wagon on the road.
Their cars are leading in saftey advancement, and reliability to this very day. they are praised for their engineering and honda is at the end of a 5.5-6 year cycle with alot of their cars, and are about to release an entire lineup of new engines and vehicles that will, as the current outgoing models have, age insanely well. Honda has always been good at sticking true to what they do best, building affordable high quality cars with naturally aspirated insanely refined engines, and amazing drives
I just purchased a 2013 Acura TSX 2.4 liter and so far I love it. It gets the job done, still a little bit sporty and classy at the same time. I went from a 2015 Mustang GT Premium 6 speed manual to the TSX for the sole purpose of practicability. It is odd going from having a push to start to key start and from having a backup camera to no backup camera. I have realized that these major upgrades made me become much more of a lazy driver and reliant on technology more than I ever should be when driving a vehicle. I am glad to get back to the basics with this vehicle and will likely use it as my daily driver until it dies.
My dad bought a TSX 2013 back in 2015 and he gave it to me last year and it still in great shape and is one very reliable car, low maintenance and very efficient in gas. The TSX is by far the best Acura ever made in my opinion.
I have the 2009 Acura Tsx Tech package and I have to say that this is the standard of what any car should be. Its 4 cylinder engine is the perfect size for fuel effiecency and speed when you need it. Although its naturally aspirated, its quite fast fun to drive.
TSX is indeed a great. I just did test drive the special edition which had 6MT, the shifter was just that awesome to touch. Be honest with u, I do think honda always has the best MT on the market.
TSX brought back what I loved about the old Hondas and Acuras. I can't blame Acura for taking the direction the are heading towards now, but it's a bit sad to see some old principles change with time. Hopefully I can find a decent TSX by the time I save up enough money for a downpayment.
I love my 2014 TSX. Amazing car and it does not feel like an accord. It feels more premium and better. The TSX is way better than the ILX in my opinion but both great cars. I will miss the TSX. Hopefully, the TLX will be better and be successful for Acura. #acuratsxforlife
Acura is here to stay, sales of the MDX and RDX are far too strong, they are in no trouble of getting into trouble financially. They are simply just in a rut right now with their sedans. The Acura brand has a lot of fans and history, we have no doubt that the company will make a comeback eventually...
Bought a 2012 TSX Wagon four years ago for $20k with 26,000 miles on the clock. It has been a sweet ride. Love the K24 motor with paddle shifters. Like other Hondas I have owned, never the most powerful, but you can use all of the power it has.
Having a family member that has a fully load 2013 Honda Accord I can say that this TSX is in no way, shape or form a premium Accord. The redesign is a much higher step up in quality and classiness that was not in the previous generations. The premium wheels and spoiler on that accord makes it more of an head turner than this plain Jane, outdated TSX.
in about a year or so, i'm looking into to getting either a 2009-2012 TL or a 2010-2013 TSX, i love how both cars look and i'd be coming from a 2010 accord Lx. I've ridden in a TL and absolutely loved it, feels powerful, comfortable, and precise. Never ridden in a TSX, i love how it looks though and it being a 4 cylinder makes it more efficient on gas (which will play a role for me). Coming from the accord, do you think the TSX would be a nice enough upgrade in terms of driving pleasure or do you think itd be more worth it to get the TL?
I bought my 2013 TSX (6 spd manual) as a CPO in 2016 (it had 23k miles). It's been a great car for the past 8 years with only expenses being regular maintenance/wear items. The reviewer says this car feels "old". Well, I'll take the "old" Honda 2.4L NA 4 cylinder engine and the older tech on this car over a LOT of what's out there today. It is absolutely a ROCK SOLID vehicle -- from the pep in the engine to the solid feel when you close the door.
The TSX and TL still exist they just combined them and it's now just one car called the TLX. They had the RL so it didn't make sense to have to similar sized cars. so now it's ILX is compact, TLX (replaces the TSX and TL) is midsize and RLX is full size.
I have 2010 tsx and my car runs quiet and I do not hear road noise in my car. I picked the tsx over the lexus ISX which was loud and wasn't as smooth as the tsx, and it handles VERY well on the highway I can do 80 and won't even feel it. So I don't what the hell this guy is talking about.
RedTSX you are u supposed to its a sports car u dumb ass bitch. Every entry level car u are gonna hear road noise. Just like the C class which is louder then my car the 3 series is loud too. So you stfu
Givemesomemoe Walker "I do not hear road noise in my car" ....... so now you just refuted your own opinion. I think we all know who the dumb bitch is...
TSX is a good solid car. I just wish the exterior looked a little less conservative for the amount of money they cost in the used car market. The price just doesn't match with the aesthetics in my opinion. It would have also liked to see them offer AWD as an option.
fuck the tech package and the back up camera, its more shit to fix when it goes bad. Some people like myself actually prefer to still use a key. Really? it doesn't have automatic rear windows! Further more not having a backup camera is not a detriment to the vehicle, its not a truck, if you need one to park in a small car like this then you need to learn how to drive an park better..
***** haha indeed i am, but i also enjoy nice things like my SCAR16s, I guess i come from a time in which the only thing that people were worried about was reliability an working a/c, also all those gadgets an gismos that come on a car can sometimes completely take away the fact that your driving a car, i don't mind push button start, but i do prefer a key as well. back up cameras are fine, but from a mechanics standpoint its just one more thing i have to worry about when it takes a shit, i remember when i took my road test you just used your mirrors an got to know your car when parking.
+Lumi I much prefer the key as a starter, since it makes you feel like you are driving a car, not a 2200 spaceship. But I suppose the argument for keyless entries mean less carjackings, but nowadays most thieves are just going to the internet to rip you off :P But yes, BRING BACK THAT DAMN CAR KEY ENTRY!
Joetexgar84 i understand you hate him for saying push bottom. But, he has a point. The ILX, which is cheaper than the TSX, offers push to start standard. And I guess he finds it weird that's the only acura at the time that never offered push to start. I actually agree with him but everyone has their own opinion. I guess you just prefer a stardard key when you start your car.
+Eric Thach I never said that I hated him. How many times is it necessary to mention that the vehicle doesn't come with push start? I'm sure he could have covered some other feature instead of wasting his time on how to start the vehicle. Oh btw mine has a push start... good day to you sir.
Honda has a lot to offer. There's a reason why caranddriver magazine consistently lists the accord as a top family sedan. Acura has stale styling, and personally, I think that's their main issue. Mechanically, they are great cars, including the TL. But they don't grab attention (in a good way) that's expected of a luxury brand. Acura needs to listen to consumers, rather than ignore them.
I got a 2010 TSX w/ the Tech package about 2 years ago as my 1st car and I’ve really been enjoying it. Also haven’t had any problems with it whatsoever.
That factor is hugely dependent on the type of driver that is behind the wheel. Most vehicles today are extremely controllable, despite the increase in power. Electronic nannies and driver assistance aids are in place for a reason.
I've actually always loved the design of the TSX, even the first generation. It just has a very sporty and nimble handling feel. Plus even though the interior doesn't scream German luxurious, you get a lot of standard equipment at a much better price point, and Acura has done that for years. Plus I love that 2.4L VTEC 4 cylinder, it just makes a really nice sound, typical Honda 4 cylinder.
What's this obsession with push-button start and other gimmicks? The TSX is in a completely different class than the ILX. The ILX is a Civic and not a particularly good one. The TSX was never intended to be a Buick. It's a sports sedan. If all you care about is electronics, you don't really need a car. Just stay home and play video games.
I totally agree. All these "gimmicks" have taken over the car industry's main focus. Most of it is useless, and is only good for comparing similar trimmed cars by going down the checklist of what who's got what and who lacking something. Its essentially what youre paying for nowadays... tons of features you think you need but really dont.
way2kuhl my 93 corolla's ignition lock cylinder failed on me while I was 15 miles from home, but lucky for me, there was an autozone 2 miles away that had a new cylinder I needed. i replace that shit and went on my way, but was super inconvenient. i keep tools in my car for situations like this smh. but yeah, if i had push button start, this would never have happened.
Had a TSX 08 before, and quite frankly, I really liked the car. However, I must agree with his remarks about ACURA desires to be taken seriously in the entry-level luxury brand. One key factor is the lack of torque and the cabin noise so annoying and typical of HONDA products. Other than that, it was a great car - forget about the 2nd generation design - despite the fact that the brakes were not that great. Very reliable. Ended trading it for a C300 4MATIC, eventually.
I had an 04 TSX, and loved it! I personally prefer the 1st gen TSX (04-08). The sweet spot being an 06 model that can have its ECU remapped by Hondata for more POWER :)
Also, this is not a up model from the ILX. It costs more because it's been out longer and it's larger on the outside but not on the inside, specifically the rear.
I drive the 2011 Honda Accord Euro (identical to the rebranded Acura TSX) and I'm sure the 4 cylinder performs fine for what it is, but subjectively speaking, having come from a V6 Commodore which produces 350Nm torque, the power of the 4 cylinder leaves much to be desired, especially in lower gears. The 230Nm torque on the Euro is like pissing in the wind and there's basically zero power on tap. I'd have bought a V6 Accord Euro is it existed or at least a 4 cylinder with turbo.
We own a 2012 SE with a 6MT and it's been a great vehicle, though definitely lacking in the engine department. I'm currently on the hunt for a 2013/14 TL 3.7 6-Speed with low mileage. It's going to be tough to find one...
Big fan btw, you do great reviews, been watching for over a year now. Thanks for the response and I sure hope Acura does make a comeback since extra competition is always great in the auto industry. But I have to say I'm still sticking with the Germans for my money, or at least lexus if I have to go with Japanese.
I have the 2013 one and both the quality and performance is significantly better than this tsx. Yes, if you want even better interior quality, go with the tsx. But for the same price, you can get choices (sedan or coupe), almost similar interior quality (slightly more hard plastic), much more improved tech, 6 speeds, better gas with the VCM, a much stronger engine, backup camera and a clean looking exterior in the honda accord. Acura needs a strong update in their lineup soon
I'd still take an SE one of these over an ILX. the tech package takes care of standard tech needs, its a euro accord there isn't an excuse to not turn your head around and look behind you while you back up. turn the key to start, its more reliable anyways. the styling is really premium and the interior in this car is beautiful. its not the most up to date, and if i think i was looking for the most tech and power i'd be in an accord V6 or TSX V6, or even TL tech. its time for a redesign/drop
For the same price you can pickup a 2014 Accord EX-L V6 with a 6 speed auto, better highway mileage (32 vs 31 HWY), extra 80HP, lane watch, collision warning, blind spot cameras, backup camera plus everything this TSX has. It's difficult to justify purchasing the TSX.
With Acura's refusal to even consider such luxury staples as RWD, DI, 7 or 8 speed tranny, etc I disagree that they have been trying to reach beyond their tier two status. Acura (and Honda obviously) seem very content to just sit on their past success and show no desire whatsoever to innovate or even match the competition any more. Its really sad to me as I used to be a massive Honda fanboy but since 2000 they really seem to have lost all their soul....
Nice looking and reliable vehicle where the maintenance ownership cost just miserable compare other luxury Germany competitors. Gas mileage over 33 on 75 mph highway speed on long trip fully loaded AC on what else to wish from a car
I drove a TL and TSX when I was looking for my last car. The TSX was DOG SLOW. I didn't even make it a block before I knew it would not do. The TL was much much nicer, but I ended up with a new S4.
Nice job on the review on this TSX Sofyan :) In addition, do you have any plans on reviewing the redesigned 2014 Acura MDX in the near future? - Michael Land
I have the current 2013 accord ex-l v6, fully loaded and for the price comparison...what you get in the Acuras isn't there. They really need to update the tsx/tl/tlx. If they can improve, I would definitely get an acura in the future. Also, bring back the coupes in the acuras! I miss the peppy rsx coupe
I thought Honda announced that they will not be making the TSX after this gen is done. They will still offer the ILX at the low end and then TLX in the middle.
Just wish it was awd 4x4 back up camera with power side mirrors just like the tl has. That’s y I switch a 335i and so far it’s a reliable car 2011 335i from a Acura TSX 2010 and I don’t regret it that’s y I love bmw cuz they have good features
I Think The White Looks Classy And Sophisticated AF, But The Black Just Makes It Look Like A Fucking BEAST! I'm In The Same Situation Though. So Torn Between Those Two Colors.
This guy makes no sense. I have never heard that this, or ANY Acura model is "boring" to drive. What is his obsession with push button start?? Also, to compare this car in refinement to a BMW or Mercedes is a bit off-base. ACURA cars have ALWAYS been a great value for the money, but I don't honestly think Honda/Acura truly intended the TSX for example to compete head-on with a 3 Series.
Sofyan--on a theoretical level, do you find it problematic that vehicles are getting more and more powerful? I mean sure, power is fun--but does it ever worry you at all what that kind of "progress" does for road safety?
2009 TSX (Technology Package) w/ 230k miles and still rolling. Love it!
TSX is one of the most reliable cars on the road! Low maintenance and low cost.
I own a 2003 jdm imported Honda accord CL7 20EL K20 Automatic.. mines has 200’000km only oil change and the car drives crazy smooth
also low speed.
I am saving for a manual one... If i can find one. they are over priced
I still drive my parents old 2009 TSX and it’s a great car
Yeah this isn’t true, from someone that owns one.
FUN FACT: the door chime is the letter "H" in Morse code. Like in H for Honda lol. Going to miss that chime.
TSX is called Honda Accord Euro, they have it and the American Accord sold together.
Yes, the European Accord was in the luxury segment in Europe and went against Alfa, Puegenot, BMW 3, MB C
I have owned Honda Preludes, Acura Legend GS and RSX going back to 1983; and in many ways, my 2012 TSX Sport Wagon is the finest Honda I have owned...love the Civic SI motor, the suspension, the build quality and the utility of a wagon while still fun to drive. spencefit how much for mate ?
I have a 2011 TSX with the tech package it's very reliable, still love the way it drives.
JC guy I have the same but why is the upgraded audio system so poor quality?
Nels Dale I thought it was good.
Best looking Acura ever, wish they can bring it back with some new upgrades.
I Agree!!! I have a 2010 tsx with Technology pkg... I love it. 👍
+Oldieeeee I like the 2007-2008 Acura TL and 2015 Acura TLX a lot better.
+Kool Acclaimed™ I like the look of the interior of the TSX a lot better than the new TLX
@Greg F. Tl type s also
2008 TL Is sexier
The TSX is by far my favorite Acura!! I would still LOVE to own one, especially the wagon.
My dad bought a TSX 2013 back in 2015 and he gave it to me last year and it still in great shape and is one very reliable car, low maintenance and very efficient in gas. The TSX is by far the best Acura ever made in my opinion.

2016 ilx rocks
I now own my 13 TSX and just bought a 2020 TLX...both great cars!
Acura is here to stay, sales of the MDX and RDX are far too strong, they are in no trouble of getting into trouble financially. They are simply just in a rut right now with their sedans. The Acura brand has a lot of fans and history, we have no doubt that the company will make a comeback eventually...
I own a 2010 Acura TSX and has over 203,000 miles on it and it still runs great and can outrun any other model vehicles in its class🤷🏽♂️😂
6:40 "you have a sunroof here..." and a moth lol
+Talis I wonder if it survived...
@@alexballantine3973 hopefully it’s doing better now. Especially since covid.
I don't understand all the hate lol
I think the tsx looks great but subtle at the same time. Looks much better than the boxy 1st generation.
Dude the first. Is Tsx way fuckn better
the first tsx is nice but it’s so small and skinny. the 2nd gen is bigger but has better presence on the road and is more beefy looking
That exhaust sounded pretty good
Bought a 2012 TSX Wagon four years ago for $20k with 26,000 miles on the clock. It has been a sweet ride. Love the K24 motor with paddle shifters. Like other Hondas I have owned, never the most powerful, but you can use all of the power it has.
Just bought a 2012, K24 Wagon. Loving it
I have the dark grey metallic and the paint still looks brand new almost...I still say this is one of the best looking sedans ever.
Not really, a TSX looks and handles better than an Accord, it's more fun to drive and turns more heads.
Having a family member that has a fully load 2013 Honda Accord I can say that this TSX is in no way, shape or form a premium Accord. The redesign is a much higher step up in quality and classiness that was not in the previous generations. snowshredder102
I can definitely tell this TSX is based on the eighth gen accord and not the ninth gen accord like other models are.
snowshredder102 I find the Accord mostly a bore. Acura is a sharper car, and I get far more people looking at my TLX than when I had an Accord.
Still, the Accord drive worse than the TSX. The supension is a lot better in the Acura as well as the fit and finish
in about a year or so, i'm looking into to getting either a 2009-2012 TL or a 2010-2013 TSX, i love how both cars look and i'd be coming from a 2010 accord Lx. if he mentions the push button start one more time.... I might loose my mind!!

K24 K series engine is one of those best in the world, and this is one of those
I think Honda 🤔 is on point by staying 👌 away from the turbo, TSX is perfect the way it is
These are great cars. My mom had an 04 and an 09 and both were fantastic. I'd love to have one.

ikr push button and navigation are pointless. Id MUCH Rather just take the backup camera for like an extra $500
RIP TSX..
RIP

Bro, this is like peak journalism of car review 👏
I prefer this naturally aspirated 2.4 or a v6 than a small engine with turbo... Will last more for sure...
I had an 04 TSX, and loved it! I personally prefer the 1st gen TSX (04-08). The sweet spot being an 06 model that can have its ECU remapped by Hondata for more POWER :)
Will you ever do a review on a TSX V6?
can you please do a review on the first gen tsx .. 06-08 revamp
Bro I like your videos I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. Keep doing what you do and have a nice day👍🏼👌🏼🙏🏼
Rear seat air vents? My mom's TSX never had that (it was a 2009 model).
Yesirrr mines is on the way this Friday 🙏🏽
Getting her for 45K miles
How many does your tsx have ?
Great Review Mr.Bey loved it !
We own a 2012 SE with a 6MT and it's been a great vehicle, though definitely lacking in the engine department. I'm currently on the hunt for a 2013/14 TL 3.7 6-Speed with low mileage. It's going to be tough to find one...
I got an Se aswell. I'm located in the Bahamas. Have you got any mods on it?
great review! I can't wait to get one of these!
Thanks for the great review. We are looking at one used and this was great!
This car has some great looks.
I seen this video not to long ago but i never noticed that you saod there was a wagon and i got to say the wagon looks better
Who says those are luxury staples? All because it’s Germans don’t means others can’t do things differently
Welcome to Washington, DC :)
Well done, interesting to hear your market opinions too.
the rsx and the tsx are the sexiest cars acura has ever made sans the nsx :)
Nice looking and reliable vehicle where the maintenance ownership cost just miserable compare other luxury Germany competitors. Gas mileage over 33 on 75 mph highway speed on long trip fully loaded AC on what else to wish from a car
I went from 06 RSX to 05 TSX. Now I have to say goodbye again :(
Great review! Looking in to buying this vehicle.
Mark1Mach2 Great vehicle! Families car, So sporty to drive but comfortable at the same time
FTR, I LOVED the Acura SHIELD GRILL 1.0!
Wow basically a copy of my 2007 Honda Accord lol but damn I’ll totally buy one!
What's a "storage solution"? Last time I checked it was "storage"?
Planning to sell my 2005 TSX 6 speed manual to get a 2010-2013 particularly white, hopefully soon.
My mother just bought this exact car. Prefer it over my 2007 TSX.
Still has The Key to start. My kinda car
I drove a TL and TSX when I was looking for my last car. The TSX was DOG SLOW. I didn't even make it a block before I knew it would not do. The TL was much much nicer, but I ended up with a new S4.
Nice job on the review on this TSX Sofyan :)
In addition, do you have any plans on reviewing the redesigned 2014 Acura MDX in the near future?
- Michael Land
You really need to find a V6 equipped TSX (it's a rocket!) and when possible a 2G Legend Type-II GS or Vigor GS.
yeah if you're looking at a tsx you DONT want a turbo.. you want that K24 motor. period.
Good video. can you do a 2014 Toyota corolla review or a 2nd gen Toyota tundra?
I have the current 2013 accord ex-l v6, fully loaded and for the price comparison...what you get in the Acuras isn't there. They really need to update the tsx/tl/tlx. If they can improve, I would definitely get an acura in the future. Also, bring back the coupes in the acuras! I miss the peppy rsx coupe
Are the backseats more spacious than the previous generation tsx?
Ness Rosenbrad Yes, very
reminds me of my rsx with that open door tone
great review. BTW can you do a lancer EVO?
I thought Honda announced that they will not be making the TSX after this gen is done. They will still offer the ILX at the low end and then TLX in the middle.
If a TSC is my next car, I want one in manual
6 speed manual master race!
Nicram set fire to automatics to appease the gods
Would you recommend this over an ILX?
Just wish it was awd 4x4 back up camera with power side mirrors just like the tl has. That’s y I switch a 335i and so far it’s a reliable car 2011 335i from a Acura TSX 2010 and I don’t regret it that’s y I love bmw cuz they have good features
looks exactly the same as accord? what's the difference?
3 months and I will have this idk if I want to get white or black any suggestions? I'm getting the v6 technology package.
TheRealBenjamin White!!!!
White!
Black!
WHITE
I Think The White Looks Classy And Sophisticated AF, But The Black Just Makes It Look Like A Fucking BEAST! I'm In The Same Situation Though. So Torn Between Those Two Colors.
Please do the first gen TSX
I like this car but there's something about the first gen. that's make me take one over this gen.
12:49 steps on gas next to cop. Lol
Nice!!! How reliable are these
Sofyan--on a theoretical level, do you find it problematic that vehicles are getting more and more powerful? I mean sure, power is fun--but does it ever worry you at all what that kind of "progress" does for road safety?
Can you please do a review of the first generation 06-08 please redline reviews
I love my 2012 TSX
Just got a used 2014 awesome car.
