One great thing about twin engines is if you lose one your not dead in the water. That saved a tow and a lot of time for sure. Good hearing it was only a lose screw on the port engine. That looked to be a nice marina to be trapped at for sure. One thing you can bank on is that, if it's mechanical it will break. Good choices that time Captain.
Ya got me! Thought the engine was gone! Thank goodness was only a nut and a screw... they seem to need each other to work! Thanks for vid. We love living through you on this journey!
With the lost throttle control is not a bad thing with the engine at idle. Best to have both engines at idle during docking. Just use forward and reverse to maneuver. Your good to go.
Captain, little surprised you were unable to diagnose and remedy this yourself. Unless of course you've made the decision not to deal with any repairs and enjoy retirement completely. Keep the great videos coming.
As you might know from Aircraft If it moves pin it if not a stop nut! You can't beat safety wire or cotter kind when things move! Thanks for the great videos!
thank goodness that's all it was--from the title of your post, I thought you had a runaway diesel (like a stuck injector). And yes, as a pilot, "aviate, navigate, communicate."
Not a criticism but nuts don't go with screws.. .bolts. Love your videos. Trying to get my wife to agree to sell our RV and buy a boat. Keep them coming. Hope you have a sense of humor.
Well done Sam. You've given me something to think about on RnB. RnB is a Tiara 44Fly with pods and no thrusters. The pods can handle pretty much anything that mother nature has thrown her way. Now I'm wondering how we could handle her with just one engine. Safety first. We may need some retrofitting over the Winter. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Richard, Yes, check with the operating manual first and see if there is a procedure for one engine out. There would need to be a backup system for maneuvering, perhaps not wit h the joystick, as I think that ties both engines together, right? I did a quick google search on this and did not come up with anything definitive. Let me know what you find out. Sam
I'm not aware of any procedures for one engine out. I'll check with Tiara and my dealer. Joystick will not work with one engine. I'll let you know what we come up with.
@@WhatYachtToDo The operating manual does not provide any insights. I'm checking again with my dealer. The helm ties both pods together and the joystick operates both pods independently/electronically for various maneuvers.
1:44 that’s my Bayliner 4788...y’all come back I’ll take ya for Brisket ! Idle should be all ya need in there..with those mixers front and back. If ya go back there Spring Cove is a great place and has full service repair and haul out .
Nice and creative Videos,I can see A lot of thought has been put into the content and editing of the video, This is really my favorite channel.:) .🌴🌴🌴excellent 👍👌👍👌👍 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 Scottsville and Gasburg Virginia 2,020

Yes, sir. Not a major emergency, but caught my attention until I figured it out!

😂 Yes, some things are best left to mechanics!

Way cool. We will be back! Brisket it is! Sam & Rev
How did you get a mechanic on the same day, I waited 3 weeks last summer, I figured it out myself before he came.😁
Magic!

Thanks so much for watching!
Sam, Did I hear fly the aircraft first?
Rick, YES - Maintain Aircraft Control - First principles! Cheers, Sam
Same theory as flying, "FLY THE PLANE/DRIVE THE BOAT".
Maintain Aircraft Control!! Nice to hear from you! Yes, the same principles apply! Only with a boat, it seems there is more time! 😊
Ahhh, the old nut and a bolt came loose, at least the Parts were cheap.😂😂😂
Sometimes you get Lucky!
Such havoc one little nut can cause, but an easy fix.
A quick fix thi time!
I want to stow away
😊
I’m a good cook!!
😊😊
What's a t-head?
It's a Dock in the shape of a "T", with the tail or bottom connected to land.
Yes! What Ron says!
Yes, what Ron says. It is an easy tie up as opposed to a slip.
Thanks Ron, appreciate your response
A screw loose is not trip ending but it just slows ya down a little. Enjoying the second loop more than the first. More laid back. Enjoy
For sure!
