He talks about the characters like they are his family. He truly understands the subjects of his art. Such infectious passion and drive, DC struck gold with him
Jorge's style just pops out at you. It's defined (especially in terms of anatomy), precise, visceral, and at the same time, so vibrant and full of life. I've noticed that most in-house styles for comics often tend to lean towards something closer to reality, meaning normally-proportioned and less cartoony, which isn't so bad (Jim Lee, Alex Ross, Jason Fabok, and others are stars in that regard). But I love that Jorge forms his art with more animated freedom. Something similar to anime while still maintaining the superhero anatomy and strong poses. Super Sons wouldn't be so awesome if it wasn't for his art and the life he gives Jon and Damian (especially in their large, expressive eyes).
What? No love for his art on Justice League?
That's exactly why he's one of the many few comic artists that inspire me! As much as I like Jim Lee's or Alex Ross' work, their styles are too... careful for my tastes. When it comes to Jim lee, I feel the way that he draws characters and scenes with the shading he does, there's a lot of heavy weights on them. Alex Ross's art, IMO, works better as illustrations rather than comic pages simply because he does hyperrealism, it's harder to convey the energy when you have to constantly make hyperrealism a priority. Jorge's art(especially for his manga-esque Super Sons) uses a lot of squash and stretch, has exaggerated character acting, and he knows to dedicate his focus more on specific panels that potentially define an entire page while he makes the panels you fly through more gestural and what you might see in in-between animation if that makes sense.

His art work is so dynamic and fluid it always gets my into the mood of drawing and improving. I hope I could be just as good as him one day he really inspires me to become a successful comic book artist.

This is probably the best comic artist video EVER! As a huge Superman fan myself I really loved to watch this honest video about Jorge, his colleagues and his family. It also was great to see the honesty about what a pro artist has to put into his work to meet his deadlines. This was a real gift to watch! Thank you for it!
DC needs to lock him up with exclusive contract, a long term one. Can't afford to lose him to Marvel. He is definitely a upcoming star in comic book industry.

One of my favorite artist at DC comics.
I love his artwork on Super Sons,Justice League and his work on this new Batman run is amazing and can’t wait to see what he does on the Batman Joker War arc.
*So DC comics do not let this guy go and pay him whatever he wants ta stay because his art is absolutely amazing.*
What an amazing artist, seems very humble too.

His art is spectacular, but also, his creativity, he has come up with the most iconic panels I have ever seen in any medium, that Dragonball inspired drawing of Superman with his son and Mr.Kent, and also the one of the citizens looking up at Superman with Sup's shadow over them are just ICONIC, they have never left my mind since the day I saw them. Those are just 2 examples that come to mind but I like to point them out because you can't make those illustrations with just drawing skills, for me they hold a lot of emotional value behind them too.

His love of the character’s really comes through in his work. And I absolutely adore Jon Kent and his design, one of the best new characters in a long time (until Bendis ruined him)

1:06 That page with the triple Generation Kamehameha punch homage is my favourite comic book page of the last year. Superman, Papa Jonathan and Jon Kent all look so inspiring and powerful on it! Brilliant art by a wonderful artist, Jorge Jimenez.
He brings the best of both worlds to the comics, anime and manga. Every comic he work is a master piece, and I can watch every illustration with pleasure while I read it . Please DC give him more and more comics.
I wish Jorge would be assigned to a revival of SUPERSONS. That was the most original, and fresh new title to come in a long long time. The group dynamic between Damien's bratty superiority and Jon's naive innocence was so much fun to read on the page! Jorge's style fit perfectly with that book. But they have to de-age Jon back to when he was a pre-teen -- I don't think it would work that he's a lot older than Damien and actually lived through a lot more. Bring back SUPERSONS!!!!!!!

Pude saber sobre Jorge gracias a SuperSons y desde ahí poder admirar cada uno de sus trabajos. Ver este vídeo me agradó mucho porque es lo que varios de los que han llegado a dibujar pues tuvieron sus altas y bajas , pero el llegó a cumplir lo que anhelaba. El que ahora esté a cargo del arte del cómic de Batman es realmente A1 porque no deja de sorprender con su talento. Espero en algún momento conocerlo en algún evento y hacer que firme mi tomo de SuperSons. Jorge logrará estar a cargo de un cómic de Superman, eso sin duda pasará! DC tienes que hacerlo realidad ✨

The good news for DC is he already was/is a DC fan. If Marvel and DC offer similar contracts over the next few years that love of Superman might be the deciding factor.

his art is so lively, his love for the characters so sincere it reaches you through the page... in an industry with some mediocre creators who survive off connections, or editorial suits stifling creativity, gems like jorge need to be uplifted and treasured

I remember when I first read Superman Annual #1 during Tomasi’s Rebirth run, and immediately needed more of his work. Not since Francis Manapul has a comics artist possessed so much kinetic energy in every panel. Keep him around!

Jorge Jimenez is DC Comics rising star artist! Although his style combines US and Japanese (manga) style, but he can make it sooo unique and far different with Joe Madureira in 90s era. Love them both 😍
