can't imagine if you have 3 other teammates, one acting as a drone operator to pinpoint the enemies and three (including you) others doing the rocket lobbing
level up your crew to ace and do the artillery strike hovering over the helipad. Each rocket salvo will cost only 10 seconds of reload xD. It's non-stop rocket rain
this is probably the closest you can get to actual indirect fire artillery gameplay, being behind the battlefield instead of in it and using the arc of the rockets to hit while behind cover
The BMP-3 line of IFVs (BMP-3, BMD-4, BMD-4M, and ZBD04A) can do true indirect fire due to having a UAV and also a cannon round slow enough to arc over the distances on most WT maps (
It's incredible that each of the rockets are detected by the anti-aircraft radars of ADATS, Flakrad, etc. This further complicates the anti-aircraft game.
@@GuyHoldingABird Ground vehicles having spawn outside of the ground map limits makes no sense. Artillery in WT can work realisticaly only in WW mode but with MUCH bigger maps like at least 50x50km .
Yep. The huge amount of MANPADS make direct support impossibly risky so they use these things as mobile rocket artillery. Very different on how the US is planning on getting around the MANPADS situation.
It's not very effective in game because all rockets have a fuse for no fuckin reason. They self detonate after a few kilometers so its literally useless and practically impossible. I'm pretty sure the only reason Loner is doing it from the second heli spawn is because of the same thing, rockets would detonate too early so he has to get closer.
Pretty sure i have seen you ( or someone who used this technique ) in a match recently on Ardennes. Match was coming to an end (60 kills vs. 60 kills mode, everyside has one cap) and we were capping the point, when all of a sudden there were rockets exploding all around us. We were lucky due to buildings that shielded us, but man we were really confused xD
Very great video. Russian and Ukrainian helicopter pilots use this tactic on the battlefield but I hope I only see it in the game. Basically flying rocket artillery.
Given you show 1 strike per game (roughly) i'd assume its a little inefficient right? probably gonna end up refining it and getting multiple successful strikes each game in the near future i bet
Similarly to how tanks in Ukraine are wanting to evolve back into StuGs, it would be interesting to see what a dedicated rocket artillery helicopter would look like if it was designed as such, and not just creatively used Hinds. Imagine an Osprey that can tilt upwards indefinitely and safely, better stabilize, and fire a larger amount of dumbfire rockets. All in the safety and comfort of the backline, and fly away before anything long range can target it.
I wish someone would do a coordinated teamwork approach with a spotter plane high above, an AA defense unit next to the arty, and a mobile artillery unit to lob the shells in. :) I mean the drone is cool, but I like teamwork better.
Just curious, but beyond just marking a focus point/target on the map and aligning your rocket target reticle (circle reticle) to that focus point is there anything else that needs to done before firing your rockets? Thank you
ive tried this and had some success i think the key is guessing/knowing the distance i also found that you can use a rocket to "scout" out targets best of luck though its really fun when you finally get one
You absolute madman. I can get lucky with TNT indirect fire *sometimes* but this is a level on its own. Praise the *chase cam,* and all of the *goodness* it brings. Since Cabala's Deer Hunter I've used it to cheese a better view and I'll use it *whenever I can.*
biblically accurate KA-52

For more reality, he should fly forward instead of hovering at a certain place

As an OG bush haver. Thankyou kind sir.
My immediate thought was "Holy bushed-up Click-Baits"
They started backing up & shooting the air expecting a heli
i got a tank with 11 bushes on it LOL. old bug from gaijin
Bush thunder
An absolute menace, surprisingly effective. And most enjoyable to watch.

@ but they are still on the frontline, not behind it like proper artillery
Im just waiting for the Moment he destroys an enemy helicopter with this xD
Better. Enemy's nuke!
I am not sure if that is possible. Usually, rockets explode after traveling up to 4.3 km
AA via MLRS saturation
unfortunately, S-8KO rockets can only travel as far as 5km
@ausfyausfy2455 nope, it depends on rocket. As far as I've tested, zunis for example have infinite range
It's incredible that each of the rockets are detected by the anti-aircraft radars of ADATS, Flakrad, etc. This further complicates the anti-aircraft game.
At this point Gaijin could simply give the already existing artillery tanks an indirect fire mode, so they can be used in a realistic manner.
realistically, artillery wont be used at these kinds of ranges
Maps would need to be at least 3x larger for artillery to be effective
@@Consumpter Maybe give artillery spawns similar to heli spawn but more concealed? Also I would prefer not getting nuked by a M109 in my Tiger tbh
@@GuyHoldingABird Ground vehicles having spawn outside of the ground map limits makes no sense. Artillery in WT can work realisticaly only in WW mode but with MUCH bigger maps like at least 50x50km .
@@GuyHoldingABird Yeah cold war vehicles should not be fighting against WWII tanks. And that goes for ALL vehicles, not just artillery.
Home made artillery barrage, and the thing is that teamates can give you coords via the map so it actually works

Oh :(

I believe this is probably the reason they’re doing it
Doubt it's effective, I guess both sides are doing it just because they don't have any other use for unguided rockets
wish Su-25 get same irl tactics like this in game
it's called "rocket lofting" or something idk
It already can. Just use ccip like they do irl.

Very accurate how rocket strike usually carry out in modern warfare
I think its funny how you use everything but artillery to do artillery
This will make people rage quit
I have tried that withiut the targeting computer and before they added in the new map features, it's very difficult to get a kill without rocket ccip
mate! do you know how to activate the targeting computer for the t129 attack?
thanks.
Yup. Using it as intended 😅

Brining the realism to warthunder very nice, might try it myself
How to Mark on map?
I see it he selects on map interest target bottom right
War Thunder isn't a milisim. It's not ready for these real, long-range tactics. Or rather, beyond visual range, ground engagements.
isnt this how real attack helicopters fire their rockets so they dont have to get so close?
you made me confused asf, as i turned this vid on while playing tarkov and i thought they brought back the og soundtrack xD
