    This jump was DQed because of his shoes!!!

    he's the coolest and most chill athlete in the world right now. They put him in 3 anti-doping tests , he passed them, then they canceled this jump due to the color of his shoes and he did today 3 jumps at 8.32 / 8.40 / 8.41 to punish them

    Tentoglou can make 8.70 for sure . He will be one of the top athletes for the next 8 years . He is only 24 years old !

    Great analysis! I was wondering how incredible is that he is a world class jumper while being that skinny like an 800 runner :D. Although he is not a the fastest, his unortodox technique is so efficient he consistently jumps 830+. He also said they aim to gain useful muscles which I believe will help him a lot, there's a lot of room for improvement.

    I think he came very close in doing a 28ft jump the other day in Munich. Many thanks for the analysis. Awesome work and absolutely correct remarks in it.
    His coach Pomaski says that he considers him a true diamond cause he has so self body control that he can do wonders as he is claims in the sport. I tend to believe him because I see him doing great records by making very small increases of length kind of immitating in a way pole volter Sergey Bumka that broke records centimeter by centimeter.

    The long jump has always been my favorite field event. What I find most striking is how the distances in the long jump haven't changed too much in the past several decades. Outside of the super once in a lifetime jumpers, such as Carl Lewis, we don't see those consistent 28 foot jumps anymore.

    Hello, I’m a big fan of your channel and like the jumpers content you post. What can I do to improve my jump my pb is 7.67m , My 100m pb is 10.2? I struggle to use my speed down the runway. I am a collegiate- unattached athlete.

      Hey there! I appreciate the support. First, those are both great marks so congrats on getting there.
      Second, I’d have to see you run and jump to give you a better analysis. But a lot of times it’s one of three things, first the approach length is too short or the wrong approach strategy for speed development, or it’s the velocity conversion at takeoff.; Send me a message (email in bio) and we can take a look!

    Τεντογλου Tentoglou his last name's literal meaning is to stretch from the verb τεντωνω, when you spoke about elasticity and stretching this came to mind

    Amazing breakdown! Not sure if you saw that this mark was DQed recently because apparently he jumped in distance spikes instead of Long jump spikes. I think a similar thing happened to Yulimar Rojas last year when she jumped the long jump in triple jump spikes I think.

      Man I looked yesterday and his mark was gone but I didn’t look more into it because I was focused on the high jump competition but that’s a bummer. Thanks. Do you know what shoes he wore?

    • @TMPOUZI
      @TMPOUZI Рік тому +8

      @@JumpersJunction it was the color of the shoes apparently, because the exact same shoes in other color have been aproved. He repeated 8.32, 8.40 and 8.41 today to show them that they cannot stop him

      @@JumpersJunction He said he doesn't care about the DQ he just thought that it was unfair and that he could do 8:40 whenever the fuck he wants and the mad lad went ahead and did just that at the very next meeting...

    About the speed, just concider that the country record is 10.11, so 10.70 is a very good time for the 100m . Also we should have in mind that top speed is achieved in the first 30 - 40m.

    Why do long jumpers pedal so much in the air?

    • @JumpersJunction
      @JumpersJunction  Рік тому +1

      Great question, it’s a technique to have long levers to counter forward rotation
