There are always respectful covers of songs. Then there are covers that burn down the house after blowing off the doors right before you realize that you are listening to a masterpiece being elevated to a whole new level. You owned this one fellas.
its kind of a strange song to cover - early, rambling, quasi-autobiographical, long, not very musical in parts, awkward transitions, song - like it might not even make sense foe someone else to sing.
Ever since their song "It's Alright" (still one of my all time favorites), I have loved this band. They are sooo good, authentic and underrated...I'm so grateful that they are still making awesome music for everyone to enjoy. I would LOVE to see them in concert one day!!!
Our thoughts and prayers for the lost souls today in Boulder, which BHTM played so many times.. They are from Columbine High School. imagine how hard this hits.. Peace.. And love..
I've been listening to Todd since their first album. Love their music. But to add John Popper.... OMG. Love the harp and voice added to this song. AMAZING!!
I am a big fan of Blues harp players. John Popper does an awesome job on this Springsteen rock and roll tune. Thanks for posting this. Reminds me to check out more Blues Traveler tunes on UA-cam.
Sorry dude: Elliott Lurie wrote this tune. Looking Glass was the band 1972. I believe this song made it to number 2. I had this song on a K-tel album when I was a kid. Nothing against Bruce.
It was '91, maybe '92, and I went to visit some friends on the campus of Montevallo University, Alabama. There just happened to be a concert that afternoon and we wandered over to the field to watch. Some big fella played the SHIT out of a harmonica and I thought, "If only the rest of the world could appreciate that kind of talent."
Well done, this is a truly remarkable song that still sounds fresh. Those first two albums Bruce put out had a certain vitality that endures. Good choice in a tune.
Does it make me weird that I want to cry every time I hear these guys? They are proof that this world still holds some beauty. Keep it up! Please come back to Seattle--I could use a good cry!! Carry on!
They used to travel together back in the early 90's doing festivals. Saw them back them. Incredible! Still to this day, my favorite duo. Few know that. They produce amazing music.
The first concert I can remember going to, my parents took me and my sisters to see our cousin Todd play a massive show with some dude who was really great on the harmonica... It's really awesome to see you guys together again now that I'm old enough to truly appreciate it!
You guys are amazing you guys do so good at red rocks in Colorado I go every year me and all my family from Iowa and Colorado we drive 9 hours to come see this amxong band keep the good work up... Like this comment plz big head Todd and reply plz
I love both of them and am so happy to have found this rendition.

I first saw Springsteen and the band do this one in 1976 (It was the last song in Memphis, before four encores) and it was rare for a while, but we've getting back in recent years. Y'all do a great job on it. Come back to Oxford, Mississippi!
That was really a great rendition! It had a lot of Soul and Spirit ( and the feel ) like the original, and this is coming from a HUGE Bruce fan! :-) Nice job guys! :)
John Popper plays the harmonica like he invented that mf’er
I think that harmonica plays him
He was at least born with that thing in his mouth
It's what makes this one of Bruce's best ever covers.
I think he did..
Hardest working man in show business!!
The fact this video doesn't have a million or more views is proof that the world is broken
U got that right
U got that right
You both got that right
@@randallreid424 u got that right
All of you got that right!!🤗
Best cover of any Springsteen song ever.
Atlantic City covered by The Band would like to have a word
And Nathaniel Raitliff covering Dancin in the Dark
Sounds like the Boss...

As a die hard Brucehead I have to say this is the best cover of this song I have ever heard and I’ve heard a lot. That harmonica is perfect... thanks!
Couldn’t agree more. The original is in my Top 5 of all time...this version just cracked the Top 10...
A very Happy 70th Birthday Max Weinberg. April 13, 1951 Newark, NJ
He is the father of Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg. How cool is that?
Agreed. When this came on E Street radio once I was like 'how dare anyone cover this', then i was like 'this is damn good!"
Agreed

How can I not have known that what I needed was BHTM + John Popper? What a great combo.
They used to tour together in the mid-90's.
Probably just as well John didn't bring Chan Kinchla with him - heads might explode!
Ever since their song "It's Alright" (still one of my all time favorites), I have loved this band. They are sooo good, authentic and underrated...I'm so grateful that they are still making awesome music for everyone to enjoy. I would LOVE to see them in concert one day!!!
They are awesome 👌.. I seen them in Boulder Colorado, Phoenix Arizona, Albuquerque New Mexico, and St. Louis Missouri...

@@GregoryBurnett-kr1kf . That would have been an awesome show!!! Not that I was ever a big concert goer before, but prices are out of control now.

Never a bad song from these gentlemen
I'm grinning and it's gonna take awhile for it to leave. This is an absolute delight. Oh, my.
Amazing job. Who woulda thunk?
Big Head Todd covering Rosie...
They locked it waaaay out of the park!
Thanks for doing it justice! I think Big Man would appreciate Popper’s expression of his horn parts.
Our thoughts and prayers for the lost souls today in Boulder, which BHTM played so many times.. They are from Columbine High School. imagine how hard this hits.. Peace.. And love..
@ BHTM version of, "Brandy (Your a fine girl)". So good, the original singer/composer left a fantastic comment and thumbs up. Check it out..
Been listening to this band since 1990. Haven’t lost a thing.

My favorite Springsteen song. Nicely done.
How did I didn't know about BHT great music

@@saundrawade7041 My wife & I actually put BTHM @Red Rocks on our bucket list, and quickly checked it off.
One of my very favorite Springsteen songs, which I think is underrated. This is the best version of it I have ever heard!

The only reason that I would like to go to the United States is: to go to red rocks to a Big Head Todd and The Monsters concert!.
@@carlosyanezlozada8809 No "other" reason? What about the Grand Canyon? Las Vegas? NYC? Laguna Beach? No huh? lol

Love Big Head Todd , saw em on a triple bill with Toad the Wet Sprocket and Dave Mathews Band in Bozeman Mt many years ago , BHT stole the show
Saw the same tour at Moby arena in Ft. Collins! BHT stole the show there as well.
I'll beat that: saw 'em for free in the parking lot of a mall, Union Station - St. Louis, on a Thursday night in Fall 1998.
Oh my! Rock and Roll is alive and well. Awesome job boys.
They used to travel together back in the early 90's doing festivals. Saw them back them. Incredible! Still to this day, my favorite duo. Few know that. They produce amazing music.
