- Thanks to an comment I received on a previous video, I've finally found what I've been looking for since 2010, the region-specific cheats for both Japanese variants of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.

In hindsight, I should have put the cheat codes in the middle of the video, oh well, this is only my 3rd script ever; I really wanted to include the website stuff though, it just didn't warrant it's own video so I used this one. Also, I did edit down a lot of thinking silence, so the video sounds like i'm talking faster.

Glad to see the audio mixing is at least decent, was a bit tricky with the music being added; Seems ya'll really enjoyed the comments spotlight too, i'll be sure to do it again.

Here's a pretty wild and ambitious idea: I'd love to find out how much the artists were paid to have their music used in the Tony Hawk series. Given that they went on to be some of the best-selling games of their time, you would hope they got a pretty tidy payday from it! Maybe try reaching out to some of the musicians featured? Hopefully they still remember, but I imagine the games brought a good amount of fame and attention to a few groups!
That's a pretty creative idea, I haven't thought about the funding involved with the series. I recall Tony Hawk doing an Interview with the 9 club or something, forget the name, and he revealed by the 3th game, he was paid 4 million dollars just for his likeness. Even beyond the music, I think actual project scopes money wise is pretty interesting.

@@nullbyt True, but it is interesting how *for the most part*, there is no real use of 'skateboarding' as a catch all term within Japanese language, that it seems to mostly go through the Sk8 shorthand.

Aggressive inline is an interesting game. I don't have too much experience with it, but I have played it and do want to try and complete it one day. I have it downloaded onto my XBOX, whenever.
i wonder if theres any significant differences between console versions as you mostly see the ps2 version whenever someone posts a video on it

Excellent video and enjoyed the comments in the beginning, I'm absolutely loving finding out about new tony hawk related stuff, really didn't think there'd be more to find out, it's super cool. If you'd be at all interested or would have the time to do so, I'd love to hear maybe a bit more in depth about the modding process so far for thps3 on the xbox, I've made some tony hawk related videos in the past and have been thinking about maybe making one going over some of the really cool projects people have been working on, and I especially thought your thps3 xbox mod was very cool and right in my niche interest wise. Thanks again for the content, this stuff is awesome.
Your commentaries would sound better with a nicer mic or some audio engineering/vocal preset. It lacks bass. Other than that great content!

the audio balancing is nice with this video, I've seen too many videos where you can barely hear the person talking because they've blasted the music way too loud. You're a good ass video maker, I look forward to seeing more

I actually really like the gaps, the more the merrier. Nice passive progress you can make purely by rolling around a level, vibing (which I'd be doing anyway).
Oh and Sheep Dog 'N' Wolf's OST (and the game too tbh) is underrated, cool to see it turn up here!
I cannot stand the ones with vague names, it's almost they did it on purpose just so you'd get the guide book..

This is the 3rd script that I've written. I'm pretty new to writing so I figured I might try pushing further.
Have you ever thought of making a tutorial video for people who don't know how to mod their Xbox version with the Japanese exclusive skaters of THPS3? (I'm only asking this because I got stumped trying to mod it on Xemu; I couldn't figure out which folder was the hard drive lol.)
For XEMU, use XISO disc images. There is an github tool that let's you convert them to folder, then you drag the mod files into the data folder, overwriting anything needed, as outlined in the readme.
Afterwards you rebuild the XISO with the same tool. -- You can also FTP the actual game folder to XEMU, once extracted, but it's more convoluted. I believe the tool QWIX can also manage XISOs if you prefer a graphic interface.

you should try going over THUG1, there might be some unused cutscene files or maybe some cheat codes.
Psych! I actually don't use secret skaters at all really, even if I think the game is very much enhanced by their presence (easily the worst part of what is otherwise my favorite overall THPS game 4 is the lackluster roster of secret skaters!). If was using a Pro Skater 3 secret skater, my faves are probably Neversoft Eyeball (such a cool design), Ollie, and Doomguy.
Holy shit that All Gaps cheat is gonna save me so much time on 2X. I actually really like gaps from a design perspective (they emphasize and reward map knowledge and routing for combos), but tying rewards to gap completion makes what is otherwise inoffensive or good into something absolutely awful, since grinding for gaps is purposeless trash that mostly just involves looking things up online nowadays. I've already gone through the chore of doing all gaps in 1+2 and a few others over the years, so cheating in 2X for something I've effectively already done won't weigh on me at all, especially since 2X is one of my staple THPS games I go back to fairly regularly since it's imo the best iteration of the PS1 engine.

Regarding 3:04, there's a guy named Bomb Bloke who made an Xbox texture converter for the Juiced modding community. It supports unswizzling, though it's only a 1-way conversion in its current state. Maybe he could point you in the right direction?
That's a damn good suggestion, I'll have to look into that and see if they're willing to collaborate. It'd be a dream to get doom guy on here, and there's only so much a THPS3 noob such as myself can do solo.
Oh God, Tony Trujillo. I discovered TH with THAW and I loved Tony's ANTIHERO shirt. Then I was totally disappointed when I saw that he wasn't anywhere else in any of the other games
If I'm not mistaken, there should be an antihero graphic in the create-a-skater? Either way, it's a shame none of the pros got used more but the development was rushed.
THAW is my personal favorite in the series, 2nd being THPS3 on PS1 and 3rd being Pro Skater 2X.

I was wondering after watching this when doing the RADCUULBABY cheat for pro skater 2x which button is the C. I'm Assuming the code input is Hold LT and press Right, A, Down, ?, Up, Up, Left, B, A, B, Y. The C has me stumped 😅

Where's a good place to start learning console game modding?
Rather loaded question that doesn't really have a definitive answer, it's very much a game by game basis. If you know the ropes of hex editing and can identify patterns, you can pretty much reverse engineer most files this way. Sometimes popular games already have tools developed, like GTA.
