Burstrick Wakeboarding | PS1
Переглядів 296Місяць тому
A playthrough of Burstrick Wakeboarding for the Original Sony Playstation, both the trick and obstacle modes, without commentary. A rather short game, but I get enjoyment out of it. The soundtrack is nice and levels are vibrant with color. The framerate is all over the place, but growing up with the PS1, I'm immune. Is this the only wakeboarding game on PS1? Seems like it.

Thanks to an comment I received on a previous video, I've finally found what I've been looking for since 2010, the region-specific cheats for both Japanese variants of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. Music: Sheep Raider (Sheep Dog N' Wolf) on Sony Playstation. Please note that due to a editing mistake, the first poster in Mission 7 Chapter 3; At the start of the level, after you ...
Secret THPS3 skater found after 20 years

Like the Korean version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, the Japanese version of Pro Skater 3 added some exclusive skaters of it's own, only one wasn't discovered for 20 years. (PS1) Cool Boarders 2001 - Menu theme

An obscure music track that nobody seems to remember except for me. Composed either Chuck Carr, Matt Furniss or some dude at Womb music, the credits are vague.
I loved this game as a kid, spent many hours over the years I remember I could unlock multiple stages in 1 run
that tokyo map with the never ending slide around 😎
These budget ps1 games are a wonderful paradox. Stuttery framerate, blocky models, aliased as shit, but there's just something that's so cool about how it looks. Something about the colors, the water textures, the backgrounds and UI. It's.... unintentional budget maximalism, maybe? Late-90's Sega Arcade Sports Game-core aesthetics? I dunno but I dig it. Hadn't heard of this game before, so I'm glad I stumbled across your video.
Framerate aside, it's a rather interesting game and, from what I can tell, the only wake boarding game on the platform. This game was budget yes, and a very minimalist team, a few of them not even being programmers/modelers/sound artists but surf/wake boarding shop equipment owners. The shop does not seem to be in business anymore, however.
Dam this brings back a lot of memories with my first serious girlfriend, we spent hours on this and were so excited for underground when it came out
just got recommended this. I appreciate your information and high quality video. Thank you
Finally good quality content
That’s pretty awesome
Hello, I run the largest Gamecube save website and have quite a large collection of Japanese magazines specifically ones about Gamecube. If you could give me a general timeframe of when the articles would have been published, I can see if its mentioned in any of my magazines. Also you are definitely right about the JP release of Tony Hawk for Gamecube, it's a pretty rare game.
algorithm just recommended me this elite channel. i haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere. could you do a video on those ps2 save collections. i never even knew that was a thing you could do
Appreciate the support; I'll consider making a dedicated video, I'm just in the middle of rebuilding a desktop currently.
seeing "success" like this makes me think that thps and skate culture had something to do with "supreme" lol
5:30 There is Claude from GTA3 here rly? Or is it some kind of mod?
That's my create-a-skater.
This is fucking gold never stop even tho views maybe be low now these could Fs grow into million view vids Fs
I appreciate the support, there's quite a few games I want to play for my channel, so stay tuned.
"at least theres a ramp up ahead.." realizes that its some boat
TIL about Save Game Collection Disks.
OOC, sorry from straining from the original intent of the video, with the RGB mod to your 64 do you hook up to the retrotink with the original Y/R/W cable from the 64 or do you need to do something different?
I use the HDRetroVision SNES component cable with my Retrotink5X.
@@VilifiedOne exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you
This game feels more like a prototype build then an actual released product. Cool to see you using a real N64
You can expect pretty much real hardware only; I'm not against emulation, but I don't use it myself. Thanks for your support.
Was hoping this would be the next play through.
Thanks for your support, certainly a weird title.
It’s so generic the save screen just calls it “SCOOTER GAME” I wonder where the photo for the bonus level’s skybox was taken. It’s so clearly a real photo (or set stitched together)
Most likely an aerial view of where Shaba games was located. I think the generic name is only on the 64 version, I recall the Dreamcast port saying Razor.
They could have made a sequel to Grind Session and yet they made this
That Razor contract was payin' bills. I still need to finish Grind Session, but at least it lives on as a easter egg in THPS3.
RADICAL!!!!!
Not gonna lie, this is a real Shaba Games moment.
SHABA **hits gong**
Somewhat soft-rebooting my channel with this upload, going to commentate my gameplay going forward, now that I've a much easier workflow. I changed editing suites as well, so this'll be a good opportunity to break it in, and I will be re-doing the non-commentated gameplays as well. Enjoy the scoot!!
There is definitely a way to mod the PlayStation 2 games. There is a bunch of Soul Calibur 3 hacks. None of them would run on OPL though.
All I know is PS2 games can be LBA hell. Not all games require specific addresses, sizes and checksums, but some do; Not sure about tony hawk. I think, like Dolphin, a PS2 game can be ran as an extracted ELF, so I might look into that. It's enough to make a save file, anyway.
There is a PS2 memory card save editor that has been around for decades. I imagine it won't be too difficult for someone to fix that save file. PS2 saves are notoriously simple and easy to mess with. I figured out how to Extract and rebuild saves from digital formats back into the PS2 file format on my own with it.
loving the comments at the start and ive lirtaly only watched this video and the 20years lost skater vid u earned a new sub for shure
This is an extremely cool find, excellent video! I wonder if other THPS games have hidden skaters?
The PS1 version of THPS4 has Bam Margera as a fry cook.
@@VilifiedOne Lol, just googled it then. Absolute perfection.
It's pretty neat tho sadly unused. I believe it was an inside joke because the GBA version also as a non-bam fry cook that (I recall) is unlockable.
@@VilifiedOneHow strange haha. I love it when things like this are discovered.
Do you use a PSX (PS2 DVR) so that's why there's the library option in the PS2 main menu?
FHDB configured to look stock.
@@VilifiedOne dope, is it worth using over FreeMCBoot, that's what I currently use
FHDB is FMCB, it just utilizes HDD boot in the PS2 kernel. Having to use a FMCB card is very inconvenient to me.
Hello, if you find more forgotten unlocks in games like your after 20 years video you should make them. I really enjoyed it and want more. How many games have hidden things?
Very good video
We need these models ripped for THUGpro and reThawed, please🙏
Great video!
Thanks so much!!
Nice video. I did a brief research to see if the Japanese community was aware of this character. I could only find a post from 2002 which predates the Dengeki save file. The key part of the above being "after 21 times clearing, Neversoft Eyeball and original character SUKEHACHI was unlocked. He's wearing an Access t-shirt, but what is this character". Perhaps the character was hidden in plain sight.
I also located the original issue of Dengeki the save data was on. It was Dengeki Playstation D57 (February 2003). I hope this helps.
I covered this in my Cheat codes video for my Japanese release, only the Neversoft eyeball is unlocked. I looked in the unlock scrips, as well as 100% the game legitimately, so I'm not sure about this post. A new mystery :) Thanks for telling me the original Dengeki disc, as well!
Careful with the song for the gameplay. Might get flagged for copy wright!
It was the very second the video went live :)
That discord convo made me lol, "It doesn't exist" *shows personal copy* "Fair enough"
"Hold my beer"
now i'm wondering which ps2s have the library option on the main menu?
None. FHDB configured to look stock.
That outro caught me off guard lol
Always hard! 💪
