A playthrough of Burstrick Wakeboarding for the Original Sony Playstation, both the trick and obstacle modes, without commentary. A rather short game, but I get enjoyment out of it. The soundtrack is nice and levels are vibrant with color. The framerate is all over the place, but growing up with the PS1, I'm immune. Is this the only wakeboarding game on PS1? Seems like it.

Like the Korean version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, the Japanese version of Pro Skater 3 added some exclusive skaters of it's own, only one wasn't discovered for 20 years.     Hello, I run the largest Gamecube save website and have quite a large collection of Japanese magazines specifically ones about Gamecube. If you could give me a general timeframe of when the articles would have been published, I can see if its mentioned in any of my magazines. Also you are definitely right about the JP release of Tony Hawk for Gamecube, it's a pretty rare game.

    I apologize if I misunderstood the explanation, but is all that data you mentioned loaded into ram from the get go or do they get added as you unlock things? I wondered if there could be a work around where we can use cheats that would enable and disable certain skaters and or data that would otherwise occupy space in ram and free it for something else like another batch of characters. The mod really looks great and I am wondering if all avenues for adapting the mod have been considered yet. thanks for sharing anyways!

      It's all at once. The xbox version can't seem to handle more than 3 extra characters in the 20 something roster, so as soon as I added Sukehachi, some instability started to occur. When I added doom marine, instability was doubled and when I added bob burnquist, it was instant to the point where you cannot even load cruise ship. Instant crash. I could make them in the neversoft skaters list, but then you'd have to enter their name to enable them which takes time, and they also wouldn't have a unique career, and possibly unique decks either from what I can tell.

    Is it possible add goals to unlockable levels on the PC version? Plus I love the mod that you made, I considered it one of the definitive mods for Tony Hawk 3 despite the bugs (aka my fav tony hawk game of all time) Also Also I tested on Xemu and for some reason if you disable both performance checks, it won't crash on Cruise Ship BUT it starts to have framerate issues.

      Is that so? Someone mentioned zero crashing for 1.1 on the 360 emulator.. definitely some "quirks" about, but on retail, I'm cooked due to this. I was considering putting skaters in the neversoft list since they're not loaded, but then they won't have a career or decks; kinda lame. I have no idea about your first question, even in THAW where all my experience is, I don't really touch levels. Thanks for your support!!

    This may be a stupid question, but would playing it specifically on a Platinum Hits version of the game eliminate any of these hiccups you've been having? I know it at a bare minimum allowed you to output to 480p without error, as the original print did not display correct at all in 480p.

      Can you elaborate? The original print displays 480p fine for me? -- I know there's a small bug where if you have 480p enabled previously and you switch to component, the game doesn't auto switch to 240p to compensate thus audio only / black screen.

      @@VilifiedOne Well I am running it through the OEM Advanced AV Pack, so that may explain why I am getting that issue with 480p on the original print. However, it was only on 480p once I began to output to component, so maybe I'm missing a step along the way in course correcting. Regardless, the main point is that the Platinum Hits version definitely fixes some issues that were present in the original print run, so it may be worth a shot in the dark if you haven't already tried this.

      @@ItsTeeohh Yes, this is because composite cannot do 480, only 240p. In component, turn off 480p mode, then switch back to composite. You cannot change supported video modes when composite is in use.

    Do you know that there are few unlockable THPS2 levels in THPS1 N-gage port? I need to play it one day to see how those levels feel with THPS1 physics and controls. Sad that no one modded any other THPS1 version to recreate the N-gage experience.

      I'm aware yeah, I've played through the N-Gage version quite a few times. They're the splitscreen versions of the maps, the tony hawk 2 ones. N-Gage version also has a replay editor and (at the time) online leaderboards.

      The whole point of the XBOX hard drive was for quick caching. None of the Pro Skaters, except for 2X used it.

      @@VilifiedOne That makes sense to an extent. 2X was made specifically for the hardware, while all the other Pro Skater titles were cross-platform

      Some of the pro skaters have questionable designs as a whole, was pretty rushed though. A few skater bios have "unknown" for their place of birth.

    It is a shame about the ram issue. If it's of any help or interest I was running the mod on real 360 hardware, granted I can only assume it still only has access to 64mb of ram, can't find much online regarding how much ram it has access too. I didn't have any crashes but I also didn't get around to running it for too long or testing to much. Regardless, this is still really cool work. Great work.

      Not sure if you can see my reply, seems to be bugged so I'll type it again. Cruiseship should crash immediately or within the 30 seconds of entering.; In the latest version, the level cannot be loaded period.

      @VilifiedOne okay, strangely enough, I played for a couple minutes and cruise ship did not crash. I used Junnosuke in case that would make a difference. I'll leave it running for a bit to see what happens Edit: Okay, so I literally put on a timer just to be sure lol, it's been running on cruise ship for 10 minutes, I skated around, made sure to fall outta bounds, use specials, skate all around the level just to be sure. Still running. It's the last patch you uploaded, to be specific it's on my 360's hdd, it's a later slim model. Let me know if there's anything else you want me to try, I genuinely wouldn't mind trying to help. It is strange it's not crashing specifically on a 360.

      Might be an emulation thing on 360s end, the issue is character agnostic. Crashed quite a bit on real hardware and identically replicated on XEMU.

      @VilifiedOne Okay, yeah that makes some sense. The 360's xbox emulation could very easily be less accurate and not crashing where it should be. And your last build in this video was crashing immediately trying to load the level right? I wonder if it would work on 360. Dunno if that would help you though

    Yeah, porting your work to PC will be your best bet. Despite Iron Hawk already making a similar mod, this offers more than enough for it to be considered it's own unique mod.

      Most likely an aerial view of where Shaba games was located. I think the generic name is only on the 64 version, I recall the Dreamcast port saying Razor.

    There is definitely a way to mod the PlayStation 2 games. There is a bunch of Soul Calibur 3 hacks. None of them would run on OPL though.

      All I know is PS2 games can be LBA hell. Not all games require specific addresses, sizes and checksums, but some do; Not sure about tony hawk. I think, like Dolphin, a PS2 game can be ran as an extracted ELF, so I might look into that. It's enough to make a save file, anyway.

    There is a PS2 memory card save editor that has been around for decades. I imagine it won't be too difficult for someone to fix that save file. PS2 saves are notoriously simple and easy to mess with. I figured out how to Extract and rebuild saves from digital formats back into the PS2 file format on my own with it.

      FHDB is FMCB, it just utilizes HDD boot in the PS2 kernel. Having to use a FMCB card is very inconvenient to me.

    Nice video. I did a brief research to see if the Japanese community was aware of this character. I could only find a post from 2002 which predates the Dengeki save file. Original text is 日本語化や日本人キャラプラス意外に変化がないと 思ってたら微妙に違ってた。 21回クリア後にNeversoft Eyeballってキャラが出たんだけど そこでオリジナルキャラのSUKEHACHIも登場。 サクセスのTシャツ着てるけどこのキャラは一体…。 The key part of the above being "after 21 times clearing, Neversoft Eyeball and original character SUKEHACHI was unlocked. He's wearing an Access t-shirt, but what is this character". Perhaps the character was hidden in plain sight.

      I also located the original issue of Dengeki the save data was on. It was Dengeki Playstation D57 (February 2003). I hope this helps.

      I covered this in my Cheat codes video for my Japanese release, only the Neversoft eyeball is unlocked. I looked in the unlock scrips, as well as 100% the game legitimately, so I'm not sure about this post. A new mystery :) Thanks for telling me the original Dengeki disc, as well!

      Rather loaded question that doesn't really have a definitive answer, it's very much a game by game basis. If you know the ropes of hex editing and can identify patterns, you can pretty much reverse engineer most files this way. Sometimes popular games already have tools developed, like GTA.

      In the 90s to mid 2000s, Japanese made games would always get released in Japan first, later publishing North American versions with bug fixes, or sometimes newer content. A good example is Jet Grind Radio, which had a new story and two new levels in the US/PAL territory. A lot of these cases also have re-released in Japan based on our versions, like De La Jet Set Radio.. Sonic Adventure international to name a few. I'm sure there are people and forums that discuss these changes, maybe videos too on sites like Nico Nico. It's kind of funny how the last decade has been the total opposite.
