No, you only need one Adam Ondra to free solo it and when he's at the top, everyone else can just ascend the rope. Only problem is you need good weather conditions and do all of this without guards noticing.
@@panda4247 I think those holes are where the wooden staging that was used to build the walls was placed. They would probably have been filled in while the castle was castling. If you look carefully you can see them in all brick and stone castles, though often they were built up solid as the staging was taken down again. We found them in my parents house (built in stone in the 14th century) while we were re-plastering, so it isn't just castles.
@@andypughtube fair point. Although I would expect those holes to be on the inner side of the castle wall. Or if they were on the outside during the build, then they should have filled them when disassembling the wooden stricture. Hmmm looking at the hole at 3:58 , it looks like it's not a long narrow hole for one wooden beam, but that there is actually some larger hollow space behind it. But maybe the looks are deceptive.
@@panda4247 The staging beams would run all the way through the wall, with a platform on both the inside and the outside (you can't reach over to the back side of a castle wall, it is probably 3 or more metres thick). The inside of the wall probably isn't solid brick in courses, it is more likely random brick pieces or rubble fill. Whatever processes have opened the holes up over the centuries have probably eroded the inner fill too. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Putlog_hole
Not sure why but when he said "too low to have some quality bouldering....... anyway it was a good school...." It cracked me up. Adam you are the best, also what a beautiful town it is!
The beginning of the video, not for me. I don't care for the rapid fire editing technique, was having to pause every second to view the scene. Don't like it in movies or TV shows. But I did like the climbing portion of the video.
Making a video about our lovely Brno, was taking back in time when i use to go there in summer, you are just a fenomenal person surely you will do good at the Olympiad. Life to PAREK V ROHLIKU.
I was coming out of a concert this weekend and spotted a cement wall that was very roughly finished, gave it a go climbing but couldn’t get off the ground! Go Adam that was fun :)
What amazes me is how easy good climbers make it look. They look like they don't weight anything. I tried a v3 yesterday and today my forearms are just wrecked.
We have a really old coastal fort in my town, where we set up some interesting routes :D gotta make due with what you got (no mountains or boulder gyms nearby)
Wow what a small world. I don`t live in the Czech republic anymore, but Brno is my hometown and I actually went to the same fucking school. Probably had the same fucking teachers. Cheers Adam!
Could you keep making videos after the Road to Tokyo series? I look forward to seeing your videos every week, even rewatching some too. You motivate me to climb harder and set high goals!
I think free climbing man made walls is so cool! There’s this place near where I live that’s an old railway bridge from the 1800’s that’s just the stone supports. About 45 feet of like American 5.10 5.11 at its hardest parts. Bolted out by the city so it’s very safe and super fun!
Knight: ah what a wonderful day guarding the castle
(knight looks down to see a screaming guy climbing up the wall)
knight: BY THE POPE
Jerome Lee I love this comment😂😂
We need him to infiltrate area 51
Just watched a compilation of Adam screaming. Made this comment a hundred time better hahaha
So basically, you just needed an army of Ondra's and the middle age would be yours
Until you get destroyed by children throwing rocks at you
@@seanmatthewking or slightly bad weather conditions 🤦♂️
They had to conquer la sportiva shoes factory first.
Most likely the walls would have been plastered though :P

Me: wow Ondra could be a real ninja to be able to do this.
Ondra: AAAAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!
Me: NVM
Buckheimer 😂
HAHAHAHA
Why does 7a seems so easy with him
@@eloanbernard4942 IKR the difference between 7 and 8 must be astronomical
Thank you, Adam! But our princess is in another castle!
lol
Lmao
funny :-D
Glad to see that Adam also enjoys some hard top roping every once in a while.
In this case it might have been the only way to secure the climb. You cant just put bolts in an 800 year old castle ;)
Might be some trad placements in the windows but that could still course damage
@@jacob8565 cause
It’there’s a lot of slack the whole way up
How this comment get 490 likes? That so dumb.... He's top roping cause the castle isn't bolted 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Now I know that I'm not the only one who wonders these things, when I walk by castles or stony/bricky buildings. Well done :)
Then you imagine doing it with rocks, buckets of shit or hot tar dropped on your head and it increases the challenge
@@khakicam5400 and also you can't use the big holes (or even put any part of your body in front of those holes), because that's where the guns are.

Quality! Respect to the authorities for letting you play with their toys :-)
What an amazingly edited video, so imaginatively cut and well synced with the music, rhythmically but still interestingly! So enjoyable
@@lucabaar1 Maybe try being less of an asshole and more people might want to kiss you too
They should have done less editing on the climbing.

he is a master
Montage at the start of the video is really well done, interesting and fun to watch. Impressive production all round actually.
Been at that castle on vacation years ago visiting Czech Republic, great city.
I used to be a climber just like you until I took an arrow in the knee
haha best comment!
@Arina Ternovska it's a meme from the game Skyrim
All climbing aside.... omg that city is absolutely beautiful. Such history and a foundation of arts and knowledge.
Thanks for introducing me to a new composer. I'll listen to more of Janacek's stuff. I'm already a big Dvorak fan
I love this channel.
Best high quality rock climbing videos.
Beautiful city!
The editing, the photography and the performances of these videos are astounishing. Good job to everyone involved! Amazing!
Fantastic episode! Something different to see and hear!
Nice city, great option for visiting. Prague is already well-known and praised.
Congratulations Adam on making your dreams come true!
Brno has an amazing racetrack that it is famous for and it never even got a mention !
I remember watching this 2 years ago when I started climbing "that is so insane" Now it's just crazy

I'm convinced the Ondra family tree must have a giraffe and a mountain goat somewhere going back within several generations. Perhaps even a gecko
None of them, it's because his Dad is Gollum
Now Adam seems like a super fun type of guy to hang out with, nice surprise ¡
Its so much fun watching good climbers climb other stuff than normal rocks or climbing walls
beautifull city and nice production of the video
Kamo tak to musim jit hned zkusit akorat bez jištění. Takový výbavko bohužel nemám. Držte palce. ONDRO KLOBOUK DOLŮ!
This was so awesome. Can’t wait to see you in Vail!!
Whoever chose the music needs a promotion.
Having lived in Brno for a while, this video just makes me want to go back
"Climbing Up The Walls" by Radiohead feat. Adam Ondra
great photography in the city montage my dude
Beautiful B roll intro edit. Enthralling!
Brno looks like a pretty nice city, worth to pay a visit!
Fortissimo e simpatico ;-)
I loved the cinematic intro!
I learnt to climb on the sea walls in Old Portsmouth sea facing limestone and inland facing brick backing the late 70's. Always challenging.
Good JOB Adam good videos amazing 👏 ! ! !
Adam is a great ambassador for climbing
Great opening montage. Your video guy is the Steven Spielberg of video guys 👍👍👍🎥🎥🎥
Top-Roping is the purest form of climbing

I think this video is very inventive and uses a great concept! I enjoyed watching it, kudos to the creative & filming crew!
Imagine adam being put into prision for climbing a historical monument, and he being like: no problem dude, I can scape prision by climbing down it
The dramatic music really made it for me

I also always wonder if things are climbable or not. 😄
That city looks lovely.
Woo Adam I wanna ride my bike with you!!!
Very similar (But lower) than the church wall we used to climb, just outside Darlington in Co Durham UK. The Church was built on top of a cliff.
Incredible volume! :D
imagine seconding a route and discovering your anchor was a cannon lol

Update, ive build my own gym in my basement ^^
Riding a bike must be effortless for Adam, as if he was sleeping effortless!
And then Adam woke up... Shit, the same dream again !! 😩
