Hi Matt. Can you please pray for the success of my research colloquium and thesis defense this October and November, respectively? Thank you. May God bless you always. Peace! 🙏🏻
Yes please i hope you and everyone can pray that God will use me to serve him and bear a lot of fruits . I'm an ex Muslim who converted to Catholicism two years ago and don't know how to serve God in my Muslim country .
I have never been to confession am eager to make my first confession as a Catholic really soon. In RCIA, and am finally beginning to understand the absolute truth, goodness and beauty of the Catholic faith. It is all about the Eucharist. This message of Gods mercy really hit straight to the heart. Thank you.
Permit me to extend a premature but nevertheless joyful welcome home. Confession is such a gift. Give God the glory for it. And wait until you receive the supreme good of His Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Holy Eucharist. I rejoice with you.
As a former Protestant who learned that the Catholic Church was the fullness of truth and converted to Catholicism a couple years ago I have struggled immensely with scrupulosity, not in the sense of actions (well from time to time) but sometimes it can even be intrusive thoughts that at times can be overwhelming. The beauty of the sacrament of confession and the overall knowledge of Gods mercy is so beautiful. Loved this video.
The irony of scrupulosity is that it makes you overthink everything and that makes it more probable to fall for sin than not thinking about sinning. Instead of thinking constantly about all the sins you could possibly commit, just think of all the good deeds you could do. This way of thinking helped me.
For those struggling with it, I recommend you check out the channel Sensus Fidelium. Fr. Ripperger addresses it and many other topics in depth. God bless.

I resonated with this video so much! Spoke directly to my heart! I just went to confession last week, for the first time in over a year, and confessed a sin I have had on my soul for 7 years. It was my biggest shame. I went with the intention of only confessing that sin, so I couldn't hide it in a list, and I came right out and said it the second I got in that confessional, without using fluffy language to make myself feel better. When I say it was the biggest relief I have felt in a very long time, it's an understatement. And I feel so much closer to God. I have not returned to that sin, and I intend with my whole heart and soul to keep it that way for the rest of my life. Excellent video, and it really spoke to my experience! Thank you!

Thank you for this, Matt, I needed to hear this. This is my favorite video ive seen from you- really from Catholic youtube generally- in a long long time. Youve been doing really great work especially recently. Prayers and thanksgiving to God for you!
Thank you for this post. I really needed to hear this. Despite how messed up my life is right now God still loves me. It's so easy to forget. God bless you.
Thank you so so much for this video, Matt! I am finishing today my 33 Days to Merciful Love (A Do-It-Yourself Retreat in preparation for Consecration to Divine Mercy) written by Fr. Michael E. Gaitley, which I highly recommend. And it is all based on St. Therese of Lisieux “little way” nothing little about it in my humble opinion. St. Therese pray for us! 🙏
You really nailed it with this video, I felt the Holy Spirit giving me a deep insight of the Love & Mercy of God. I would add one thing which I think is very important to consider -St. Francis De Sales writes, “It is an abuse to confess any kind of sin, whether mortal or venial, without a will to be rid of it since confession was instituted for no other purpose.” You may be fully aware that you’re going to commit the same sin again because you’ve confessed it in your last ten confessions, but you should resolve with all your strength never to do it again, try to hate the sin by reminding yourself of the evil it causes, and take concrete steps to avoid the occasion for the sin. For example, if you have a certain friend who loves to gossip, think of a few ways to redirect the conversation when it appears to be heading down that path. Without a firm decision and a plan to avoid the sin in the future, it’s hard to say that you have the purpose of amendment that confession requires. Never feel hopeless with any repeated sin; God will help you through the power of the Holy Spirit; if one's weakness is great his power is even greater -2 Corinthians 12:10
This is an amazingly profound and simple message - straight to the heart of the matter. I pray many will see it and know the mercy and love Christ died to give us, and the freedom to receive His love. Thank you Matt!! God bless! St. Therese pray for us.
SAN FRANCISCO (CNS) - Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone of San Francisco is asking “all Catholics and others of goodwill” to join a prayer and fasting campaign for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic Democrat who supports legal abortion.
@Alexander Hendry Its not about believes its about life! Who defends the life of the innocent. That is a human being with his/her own body, heart, lungs and rights! What makes her think she has power to decide who dies and who lives? remember she works for the people of this nation!
Don't forget that God can even give us our innocence back - He doesn't just have the ability to cancel the debt sin creates, but can even undo it in a sense, and with it the shame it brings on us as well. We should pray for this grace, seek out the various indulgences God generously offers us each day, and hope that God makes us new and fresh again. Also, the fact He offers us forgiveness means He thinks we are worth forgiving - the very reason He does this is because He loves us, and to love someone is to consider them worth loving and still valuable.
This is very true, and it is something very much worth praying for, but it is something extraordinary when it does happen. Shame for past sins is to be expected, and is not guaranteed to be removed when one is absolved, which does not reduce the greatness of God’s grace in any way. Shame, if it does not bring about discouragement, can be used by God for great good. But, it is wonderful when God takes it away.
@@johncassani6780 Agreed! Shame can also sometimes burry itself a bit more deeply inside of us, so a process of healing may becoe required for that. I know that other spiritual things may take time to heal, but that time itself has purpose and brings about great graces! And then there are plenary indulgences available to us daily, which, though they aren't easy to get depending on how detached one's will is from sins, aren't impossible either, since they are an open possibility for ordinary people. Anyways, we should all pray to God to give us detahcment from sin and heal us in His love!
I have done SUCH shameful things. Do I really believe that "By His wounds we are healed"? Like really believe that? I don't know. I think, I haven't tried it. It's time to get out of the boat and start walking, Peter. Eyes always on the Lord and one step at a time.
@@frederickanderson1860 Paul, by his own account, took pleasure in the death of the Christians. That's wicked. But God did forgive him. God does forgive murderers, he even asked for forgiveness for the people that murdered him.
Thank you so much, Matt! I sorely needed this. I have been going to confession regularly for about 7 weeks and it seems as if the devil is putting more and more obstacles in my way. However, I am slowly learning to shun the the devil and his lies of not being good enough to go to confession. Thanks be to God!
Thank u Matt Fradd. I really needed this, I have bad scrupulosity and have been looking into Saint Therese and her wonderful quotes. I really feel like God is speaking through me in this video. I truly mean it.
It sounds like the risk of sin is not that God's mercy won't cover it but that I will become comfortable with it enough that I won't repent or feel the need for His mercy.
Matt thank you so much for this video! I think this is one of the best I’ve seen! I was just smiling the whole time you were describing Gods mercy and love for us sinners! Praise be to Jesus Christ our redeemer!
Thank you Matt. I needed to hear this just at the moment I hit play. God bless you and your team for the work you do to bring Gods glory to those who need it
I don't know why but right at 12:59 when it turns to 12:00 the video pauses when you say..."and your mercy prevails over......" And then it will not play the rest. Not sure if it's my phone or just this video? Anyone else having issues? Really wanted to hear what the Mercy is prevailing over..... obviously all sin, but I was really enjoying this video! Was just what I needed to hear this morning. "Get back Satan!" Glory to God! Amen!

Also when we walk out of confession knowing that we have been forgiven we shouldn’t take it for granted and give thanks. And all confession is forgiven every time as long as it is sincere and the person regrets sin and wants never to do it again

Your analogy of the film made about you reminds me of what my late father used to say: “imagine there is a film made about you, there would come a point where there are parts that you would beg the projectionist to stop showing because it is too ugly to see, that is why you have to act as if the film is rolling and all are watching, you have to trust God to guide you and stay on the straight and narrow”…

Good Morning from the UK... This is a very timely video Matt.. Last week a serving Police officer here in Ebgland was tried convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment without release for the kidnapping. rape and brutal murder of a young female Sarah Everard. I have been thinking long and hard about the horrendous lmental torture her poor family now face as they daily try to live with the circumstances of her death and I ask you all to pray for Sarah and her family. But what about the convicted killer. ?? He faces... . quite justifiably... a solitary and isolated living hell.... Will he repent and plead with Our Lord for mercy on his soul??? I truly hope he will.
rightly said, dear Matt, HE WILL, but of course if the one concerned to have HIS WILL come over him as infinite mercy, seeks, asks, and expects mercy to be his
"'Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man,' says Christ, 'and drink His blood, ye have no life in you.' This seems to enjoin a crime or a vice; it is therefore a figure, enjoining that we should have a share in the sufferings of our Lord, and that we should retain a sweet and profitable memory of the fact that His flesh was wounded and crucified for us." -Saint Augustine, On Christian Doctrine Book 3 Chapter 16.
ST. POPE JOHN PAUL II: “By forgiving his executioners, Jesus showed he is not the accuser of the guilty but rather their advocate and intercessor. Jesus’ words of forgiveness - ‘Father, forgive them for they know not what they do’ - were spoken in circumstances of the greatest hatred and cruelty. Jesus forgives His adversaries immediately, even as their hostility continues. Jesus is the defender, not the accuser of the guilty, because He knows that many can be less guilty than it appears, or one thinks. For this reason, he taught his followers not to judge others. The mercy Jesus asked for His executioners is extended to all humanity.”
As a Protestant, I absolutely ADORE Therese's teaching on mercy! In many ways, she out-Protestants the Protestants. I used to point out the extreme similarity of her words (which Catholics almost universally love) to words of Luther (which Catholics almost universally despise). You can try to explain away the nearly identical sentiments, and, believe me, many Catholics do. Or you can realize that what Therese expressed is the very heart and soul of Protestantism. If Therese opens your eyes to Christ's amazing grace, then dream of a day when perhaps we can weep as one for all he has done for us. Here is Luther: “If you are a preacher of mercy, do not preach an imaginary but the true mercy. If the mercy is true, you must therefore bear the true, not an imaginary sin. God does not save those who are only imaginary sinners. Be a sinner, and let your sins be strong, but let your trust in Christ be stronger, and rejoice in Christ who is the victor over sin, death, and the world. We will commit sins while we are here, for this life is not a place where justice resides. We, however, says Peter (2 Peter 3:13) are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth where justice will reign. It suffices that through God’s glory we have recognized the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. No sin can separate us from Him, even if we were to kill or commit adultery thousands of times each day. Do you think such an exalted Lamb paid merely a small price with a meager sacrifice for our sins? Pray hard for you are quite a sinner.”
I am always shocked by how frequently the saints visited the sacrament of reconciliation. Sometimes I am tempted into discouragement and I would rather be condemned to hell than disclose some sins to a priest. It is difficult to understand how deeply God loves us and why He does. I wish I could deceive myself that I am holier than I actually am. Why do I have to care about God, morality, etc? Why can't I live a carefree and guilt-free life as a non-believer? I could self-govern my life and determine my own set of morals to abide by. Unfortunately, I know the truth.
I recently went to confession and had to confess a sin that I was extremely ashamed of. I was so ashamed that I avoided confession for months and my desparation only grew stronger. I only focused on how embarassing it will be and what the priest will think of me. Eventually I came to the conclusion that I have to man up and confront the consequences of my actions. On the way to confession I actually thought about calling the priest and telling him I can't come. However, when I was there and confessed, it suddenly was easy. I just said what I did and I didn't even think about the priest (who, btw, was very kind and didn't react weirdly at all). Afterwards, I felt an immense relief and finally I was in a state of grace again. It was 1000% worth it. Satan is the one who wants you to stay away from confession. God already knows what you have done anyway, but He wants you to come clean and face the consequences. Only if you admit openly that you have made an error, you can start anew and be free from the sin. Having the priest as a witness ensures that you don't try to escape or rationalize your sin.
@@wilhufftarkin8543 It's so embarrassing to have to return the next two weeks for the same sin. I wonder if I'm even taking my sin seriously or actually trying to change. I envy those who have no need for God or are blind to their sins. Most of my sins quickly backfire against me and become self inflicted wounds. Some seem immune and almost resilient towards the effects of sin. Their sins only derail others but never affect their success or their conscience. I stick to the church because I know I'm too foolish to commit a sin that would benefit me.
@@wilhufftarkin8543 I too confessed a sin that occurred many years ago and was deeply ashamed of. I asked the Lord prior to going to confession to go easy on me because I was afraid. The priest was so kind and gentle and actually thanked me for my confession. The love and mercy our lord has for us is beyond our understanding! 🙏🏼
Be thankful that you know the truth. For truth will set you free. Not always in this life, but certainly in the other, which is the most important. As saint Theresa of Avila said: "From heaven even the most miserable life will look like one bad night at an inconvenient hotel".
Cheers mate, I'm a revert and I've fought tooth and nail to make it home. Two years ago I returned to the Church and the sacraments, after twenty years of serious sin . Mercy beat my pride , and other serious sin , like a MMA fighter. My prayers are for God's will to be done in you and for the Church to be one. Please pray for others as well as yourself. And please pray for me.
I have a sincere Question. As a catechumen I cannot go to confession. Am I in Gods mercy? I confess my sins daily before God and make An act of contrition and love every Day. I pray 4 Times a Day and almost daily the Rosary. I really look forward to my baptism, but sometimes I worry. Can anyone help me out, Am I doing enough?
If you somehow die before your formal baptism, rest assured that by the looks of it you'll surely receive a Baptism by desire in death. So you're good 😎

Awesome message. Thanks Matt so glad I saw this message this morning, just what I needed to hear.
I love ❤ the Little Flower. 🐨🦘🦘🐨
Oh Wow! Thanks Matt, I needed this. Divine Mercy is the beautiful truth in the universe ❤❤❤
Thanks!
Thank u Matt Fradd. I really needed this, I have bad scrupulosity and have been looking into Saint Therese and her wonderful quotes. I really feel like God is speaking through me in this video. I truly mean it.
Prayers for you, friend. I, too, have bad scrupulosity.
@@cheetah522 Aw thank u very much. God bless u I’ll pray for u too
It sounds like the risk of sin is not that God's mercy won't cover it but that I will become comfortable with it enough that I won't repent or feel the need for His mercy.
And every Protestant said, "wait, Catholics are supposed to teach salvation by works! What is this?"
Awesome AWESOME video.
God bless you and your team for the work you do to bring Gods glory to those who need it
Thank you Matt. This is exactly what I needed to hear. God bless you!
Thank you for bring "real" and for sharing your voice.
Beautiful reflection 💖 Thank you! 🙏🏻
That was beautiful. I believe this is that best video you’ve made so far. I thank you for that, Matt.
Thank you Matt. Shall God bless you forever with His infinite Grace.
You just don't know how a fucking light you are. Thank you.
Beautiful, Matt! This video really made me want to be a saint! Keep up the fantastic work (and you look so good clean-shaven!)
Thank you so much, love your videos!
Great reminder. Thank you.
Amen!
It's not only you but everyone. It's just that some people don't watch till the end.
Thank you brother for your words 🙏 God bless you always 🙏
I can feel Holy Spirit working!
Well said! I’m publishing a weekly UA-cam video on episodes from the life of Don Bosco, entitled ST JOHN BOSCO by JOE ZAMMIT. Also when we walk out of confession knowing that we have been forgiven we shouldn’t take it for granted and give thanks. And all confession is forgiven every time as long as it is sincere and the person regrets sin and wants never to do it again
Thanks so much
Loved this btw! God bless you and your ministry!
Pray for the conversion of my family members. Jesus, I trust in you. Mary & Joseph, pray for me & my family.

Thank You so much. So so beautiful!!
Galatians 5:19-20 describes me perfectly before I got saved. Got saved. What a difference! Not perfect but, WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE! 😀
Beautiful and appreciated. Thank you.
Beautiful. God bless!
Thank you.
rightly said, dear Matt, HE WILL, but of course if the one concerned to have HIS WILL come over him as infinite mercy, seeks, asks, and expects mercy to be his
This is beatiful Matt . The simple Gospel of Christ is the greatest thing one could ever hear
Thanks be to God - we struggle to be worthy. Surrender me dear Jesus

Came here again to watch just that
For further convincing of God's love and mercy, please read, "That All Shall Be Saved," by David Bentley Hart 🙏
Here is Luther:
“If you are a preacher of mercy, do not preach an imaginary but the true mercy.
@@jesusgirl4936 I hate feeling like a sinner. Sometimes I think Catholicism is a guilt tripping machine
Be thankful that you know the truth. For truth will set you free. Not always in this life, but certainly in the other, which is the most important. As saint Theresa of Avila said: "From heaven even the most miserable life will look like one bad night at an inconvenient hotel".
Please pray for my son , he’s struggling
I always was interested in the history of St Teresa found her very interesting
Cheers mate, I'm a revert and I've fought tooth and nail to make it home. Two years ago I returned to the Church and the sacraments, after twenty years of serious sin .
Mercy beat my pride , and other serious sin , like a MMA fighter.
My prayers are for God's will to be done in you and for the Church to be one. Please pray for others as well as yourself. And please pray for me.

Matt would you consider an episode on Transhumanism?
Matt! Did i just see you at Christ the King chapel at Franciscan or do you have a twin?!
He was there :)
So you're good 😎
Talk to your priest and also if your sponsor is worth their salt they could definitely talk you through this
Please speak to a priest! Its good that you are repenting every day. Also get a spiritual director to guide you if you can.
St Thérèse is quite the poet😀
