i really like this design and it works much better for me than all the small front pockets of the synik. I don't understand the hate that long-time TB fans have been directing at this bag. Just because it's not a quirky weird design that only works for them doesn't have to disqualify it from being authentically Tom Bihn.
I like it, it's a great design. I think people are used to the "quirky" designs TB is known for like Synik. I see people comparing it to AER, but it's very different.
Thanks for the review. The bag seems a bit short and deep for what it’s trying to be. Did that affect your packing and carry ability at all? Did you decide to keep this and continue using for one bag travel? I’m looking for an in between the Minaal 3.0 and GR Gr1 26l for reference.
I guess it's a litte more boxy shaped than some other bags like the GR1, Minaal is a good bag but the backing style is weird for me because you open the back end of the bag instead of the top, I think it makes it a little weird to pack. Maybe the Tortuga Expandable?
I mean, this one is a good option for a 30 day trip. For more ideas I have a roundup of my favorite travel backpacks ua-cam.com/video/DSfZ9fP1vq0/v-deo.html
They are similar. I think mostly your organizational style would be the biggest difference. Bixi is good if you have packing cubes, easy packing main compartment. Techonaut has a nice bottom pocket if you like to separate your gear, maybe use it as a shoe pocket.
The carry systems are virtually identical, same shoulder straps, back padding on Bixi is a little wider, and Bixi has loops for hip belt. I'd say if you got the optional padded hip belt Bixi would be more comfortable for longer or heavier carries.
Tom Bihn is one of those brands that isn't afraid to make bags they know people won't like, definitely more of a dad bag vibe and not everyones style 🤷🏼♀️

That's a sleek, well designed bag.
It is!
A high end priced and nicely designed bag! Too bad a wider bottle won't fit on the side pocket.
Yeah, I think they're limited with where the seams are located on the exterior 🤷♀
Thanks for the review.

They make nice quality bags and I have several but their prices have gotten crazy.
They're pricey, but also made locally in Seattle unlike most brands.
@OneBagTravels right, I know made in the USA cost more, it's just still a significant price hike from my other big brand backpacks
Very nice review! What luggage would you recommend for 30 days vacation trip to Sri Lanka / Indonesia for adult male? Thank you.

Thank you. I will look at it.
Seems like its a great GR2 competitor, but the goruck looks more comfortable
GR2 is designed to carry much heavier loads better I would say yes, for normal travel gear Bixi is just as good.
What would make you choose the Bixi over the Techonaut? They seem so similar.

How is the comfort compared to the Techonaut? Thanks!

Did you return to San Miguel? Or was this your previous trip?
Same trip
I know they're very well made, functional and MiUSA, but I just can’t with the deigns and prices of TB.
