- This animation features my Ark Royal refit. Ive made the original Ark Royal as well, but it actually needs some touch ups, otherwise I would've included her in this vid. So, my Ark Royal refit is classed as a Battle Carrier. The domes you see on the saucer, those are actually torpedo launchers, each dome houses around 2 launchers, both launchers are at 90 degree angles from each other. Along with the phasers, this vessel could pretty much sit stationary and fire both weapons omni-directionally.
As for the pylons, I love 4 nacelle designs, but I wanted to make different pylons instead of the traditional sweep back split design. So I made those pylons a bit more curvy along with putting the impulse engines on them. Whats in front of the impulse engines might look like phaser strips but they arent. Its just a grayed out area.
Also, I have NO idea why my vessel looks like its "shimmering" in the second scene. Im guessing its because of how it was encoded but Im not really sure. Basically the first 3 scenes I made as a bit of a "mirror" to Picards first episode. So with mine, shes moving thru the Pleiades Star Cluster, then warps to a planet near a Globular Cluster, then everything ends with the vessel dropping out of warp to a Gas Giant inside of the Globular Cluster.

Other than the nacelle strut design & impulse engine placement the overall design is graceful yet she looks like a tank. Beautifully rendered. Love how you frame everything, music, visuals, design, sfx, etc. Brilliant.
As a British person this made me smile seeing one of our famous ships in a star trek version and she even looks to have launch bays on her sides a bit like a sea going version launched aircraft. 8 )
The ark royal brings back so many good Starfleet Command memories. : >

What I'd like to see is Connie Refit with 4 nacelles, but keeping with the "TMP" aesthetics!
Essentially, the ship could separate; both sections have impulse and warp!

The USS Ark Royal a fitting name after the HMS Ark Royal a WW2 Aircraft Carrier
Its interesting that some of the most famous RN ships: Victory, Hood, Excalibur, Exeter are in TNG & ToS but NO Ark Royal! The most famous RN vessel post WW2. Its interesting that the Royal Navy has never named another warship 'Hood' after the great loss of HMS Hood in 1941 but it features in TnG! Would so love an Ark Royal to feature!
nice looking ship i do like the carrier design i think its something that has been over looked in Star Trek they would have been needed even for the runabouts this way they dont use up fuel and can cover longer distances and what a fitting name ArkRoyal the ship who helped kill the Bismarck

I like the name Ark Royal. I do feel it would be a sistership to the Enterprise. Ark Royal serves as the flagship to the UK Navy as the Enterprise is for the US.

Only issue I have with the design is the amount of impulse drives on the Narcelle Struts. To me, the impulse drives would look much better via the saucer section otherwise great design.

I agree, wouldn't this put undue stress on the very supports that are integral to holding the machinery that throws you into warp? I mean in battle now you've given me TWO reasons to target your nacelles and also wouldn't this due to strain, shorten operational life?
Since I don't see a top or bottom bridge it reminds me of the Galactica as it also is a carrier! Also would have liked to see the Fighters and shuttles launch from it!
Exposed top and bottom bridges are absolutely useless and nonsensical on a space ship, since there's no up or down in space and in a combat situation, an exposed, easily targetable bridge module is a critical weakness.

TBH, I didn't like that the ~only~ impulse engines visible were on the nacelle pylons, though: I'd expect those could be easily damaged!

Love the nearby stars! How did you get them looking so 3D? Guessing separate objects to the skybox?
Most of them were from a particle system called Trapcode Form. So basically, the cluster in the beginning was made from Form. The stars in the background were made via Orb from Video Copilot. As for the final scene inside the globular cluster, it was made with Orb again, but I just decreased the amount shown and threw a glow and exposure on. ( decrease the amount: meaning normally I create an image of stars, throw that in Orb, and increase the amount of images used. If I use one, it will stretch across the entire Orb. If I use more, the will distribute around it, and the stars will look smaller and will show ALOT more of them. So I just lowered the amount to make it appear we were inside a cluster of stars.)

its a beautiful ship, though i have an issue with the super curvy warp/impulse pylons. why not simply have them mounted on separate simple swept back or angled struts for redundancy and ease of manufacture?
That 2nd moon near the yellow and purple gas planet is habitable class m 75 % of earth's size gravity 1.042 so let's explore it need an away team.

I would love so much, if the Devs of Star Trek Online would come in contact with you, and publishing your ships in the game.. You have such great design ideas.. your ships are thos ones, the Starfleet should have developed. instead thos jj and discovery shit....
I would like to see the Big E 1701-E next to the Millennium Falcon and a few rebel fighter ships and the Ghost from SW Rebels in hyper warp returning to Starbase Alliance. Anybody else wish to see that?

It looks like the Enterprise D and E snuck off to some cheap motel, had a drunken 3-way with an Oberth class, and had a baby.
Would like to see spec sheets of the ship
And like the original, Churchill will hold it back from combat when learns that "the commies have got jet planes"!
