This was always one of my favorite slipknot songs!! I shot this video with Drumeo in BC Canada.
if you're wondering how the the cool 'matrix' edits were done, they were shot using 30 GoPros which were mounted on a rig that Drumeo built for this shoot, crazy talented ppl. This song definitely made me a better player. when I first decided I was gonna cover it, I could barely play the opening fill, not to mention, the one bar double bass part, just wasn't in shape... but i made up my mind and went for it! and by the end of this shoot this was a total piece of cake. crazy what inspiration will do for you. :) anyways... hope you like.

out of all the eyeless drum cover videos I've seen, where everyone is like blushing and sweating, this girl is just like "yeah, this is hard but I play like it's nothing" she's so relaxed and having fun, omg, I love that!
I would normally agree, but it is nice to see when a drummer puts everything they have into it. No disrespect to her, she's obviously a very talented drummer with great potential, but when I see a drummer like krimh kerim, (his cover of eyeless is phenomenal) it's good to see how hard he works to get everything right

1.) did I miss something? its pretty sloppy and nowhere near any professional playing that would justify her huge fan base

3.) indeed the camera work is good (not incredible, but above average), but I think she uses it to cover up the fact that her videos are cutted together and no one-shot-productions (take a look at her pants, she magically can ajust them during the song)

We all have our opinions on Meytal, and I would like to share mine. When I first saw Meytal, it was her "Toxicity" video that she did with the electric violins and I didn't pay much attention to her because duh, they're electric violins! But then I clicked on her channel and watched videos for hours on end. It really doesn't matter if she simplifies it or not, she makes the drumming sound almost identical to the song while doing it with such elegance and grace. There may be "better" drummers but I haven't seen anybody play almost exactly like the song and being so happy doing it. You can give all these excuses about how she's "not technical enough" or "she simplifies it" or "she missed a few notes" it's a COVER for a reason. Say what you want to, but she's down right amazing.

Just sounds like a distorted record scratch to me. Definitely Craig's work off the original track though.
It is the Amen Breakbeat (the same sample is also playing at the beginning of the song and can be heard in the background in a lot of places - and in the late 90's this was pretty badass of slipknot to nod towards the energy) used in Drum"n'Bass everywhere. The reason why you like it at THAT point in time is that they run it through a lowpass filter with a lot of resonance and it darkens/shrounds most of the sample and the snare rimshots kind of blind through it as tones. Like an extreme wah-wah pedal.
once you hear lowpass filters you can recognize them pretty easily, and their resonance amount; they are used a lot and come as a standard feature on a lot of electronic equipment, because it is a widely used way of removing high frequency content from something. it also sounds like your mouth opening and closing, and isn't that expensive to make, so people relate to it a lot as humans.
the "high resonance" is indicated by the bright character of just those snare rimshots; the sharper, brighter sparks that seem to appear from the otherise muffled sample.
You can test this here (the 'quality' is the resonance, or feedback amount, or 'character enhancement' to accentuate frequencies that are being cut off).
