- A bit more than a year ago, I filmed a video about my retinal detachment. This video received so much love and support, and I actually got a lot of questions! I will be updating you guys on my process of healing and where I am at right now, and also be answering some of the frequently asked questions on my video. This is more of an informational video for those who watched my last one and are interested in the subject of retinal detachment. Hopefully I will be back with more fun content! :)

How are your eyes now
@@mabline2267 I'm absolutely fine. Ofcourse vision is fuzzy in that eye. But total vision is in harmony and i don't experience distortion

@@theviralstuff4460 it's been a year since my surgery and both my eyes are now of the same shape. It took some time but now all normal. Initially operated eye would get red with a minor wind . How are you doing post surgery?

Sclera buckle is more complicated than vitrectomy trust me
My retina detachment suregry 14 august scaleral buckling and now 1 month ago my vision is very blurry plz your suggestion Next days can improve my vision?
Hi ana how is your vision now❤
Oh nice video 🙏❤️ .. does your normal vision came back after surgery?
I have a question does retina surgery hurt. If you are under 18 is there a probability that the surgery will go wrong and cause you permanent blindness
Does any effect in your vision
How long does it take you to see normally after the surgery. I had surgery a week ago and that eye is very blurry.
It honestly depends on the person. As for me, it took some months to fully recover. Hope this helps!
Ana Seo it does help. Today is my second surgery. I hope I can see after this one.
@@lizfavela4420 second surgery? How did it go? Why did you have 2 surgeries
did you get your 20/20 vision back after a year? or your vision has a distortion? I am 3 month after the surgery but my eye see things smaller or distortion vs my good eye.,,
HI! I'm sorry I didn't respond before... I was off UA-cam for a while. I do not see distortion, however, my vision is not the same. It's still recovering, or may not even recover according to my doctor. But everyone's case is different! so keep your head up :)
@@AnaSeoWhat do you mean by how your vision is not the same ? Like what changes do you have
I had the surgery 1 month back. Dr says it'll improve in 6-12 months...what's ur update about this? Did urs improve? Even 1% better?? Pls do let me know... having serious anxietyyyy😢
Hi Ana! So glad you’re doing ok. Just a few questions!
1) what was your prescription when you got the RD?
2) and how’s your vision in the affected eye?
You’ve been through a lot - stay strong!
Hi Tomy! I am not really sure what the prescription was called but I had to use an ointment day and night and eye drops throughout the day. And my vision has been the same since, it hasn’t really improved..
Thank you for your encouragement and I hope you find these answers helpful!
Ana Seo Sorry, I meant eye glasses prescription. I’m -12 both eyes and have been having anxiety about RD...
I’m so sorry to hear about your vision not improving... what did the doc say about that?
Ohhh hahaha sorry I misunderstood. I don’t know what my prescription is.. the doctor never told me at the end but I’ve been near-sighted on my right eye for a very long time.
About my recovery.. the doctor told me that it’ll take a while for my vision to actually go back to normal because it’s a slow process for certain people. I think that because I was near-sighted from the beginning my vision isn’t bound to improve that much anyways.
I’m sorry to hear about your concern!! I would go to the eye doctor to make sure and confirm before something more grave happens. I wish you the best!
Ana Seo gotcha. Glad you’re doing better. Time heals everything. I remember you said you were afraid you wouldn’t be able to go to college... how is that going? If you apply to college, you can always write about how your surgery and medical condition might have compromised certain parts of your application. They are very understanding!
Hi Tomy! Yes!! College application season has taught me a lot haha I was very scared that my grades would affect my college results but what I can hope is that all will turn out well no matter what college I get into, and hopefully they have some mercy on me heheh thank you so much for catching up so much with me! I hope everything ends well with you too ☺️ keep me updated on your conditions!

Hey, what early symptoms you had before retinal detachment and what was your myopic number before surgery?

Nice! So happy for you! Do you have eye floaters?

Hey girl how u doing after your surgery? I had mine 2 years ago and still going strong 🙏🙏🙏
How's your vision
Hey anna,
I am a 17 old year boy and recently i have been seeing some floaters across my vision in my right eye and it moves wherever i move my eyeball suppose, If i move it from left to right then the black spot also moves in the same way and i also have been feeling ichiness in my eyes, but i do not see flashes in my eyes
I am a student and its really disturbing so i needed to consult you
Is it dangerous??? And is it similar to your condition??
And how can i treat it?? Please help me and give some advise its really problematic
Thanks,
i would appreciate it if you could help me !!
I recommend you to see an ophthalmologist very soon.
I also started seeing eye floaters around your same age and didn't think much of them for five years, then I saw a doctor and he told me that I have retinal tear in one eye that needs to be treated or I can get retinal detachment.
I wish you all the best.
@@ahsanaldaw2292 ok thanks I'll go right away

Im sorry if i missed it in your video but did you have any eyelid droop? i am about 9 days post op and it's still quite droopy and I am very bummed. thanks!
Hi Anna! I don’t remember having a droopy eye.. but just swelling. Hopefully this helps! and feel better!
My friend here asked me if something was wrong..and i told her I'd been seeing spots in front of my eye. She asked If I'd seen a doctor- and I told her "No - just spots" ha. (old joke- sorry...)
Hii Ana are now seeing with that eye??
Hello.I had retinal detachment last year. The doctor put a silicone oil instad of gas. Its been past a year later and doctor suggest to leave oil in and not get it out until it gives me a problems.. Im scared about this: what is going to be one day after removing that oil..? Did I see as far as now or lost vision.. Is here anyone who have same situation? Thanks
How is your vision right now?
How is your vision now????
Hello , just had surgery 13 days ago, also with silicone oil. Same as your doctor, mine said he would leave it maybe 1 year if there are no complications. I can see pretty well for having silicone oil though, still recovering . Peripheral vision is low but slowly getting better. Interested in how are you doing after a year? Do you still have oil inside ? How is your sight
Wow beautiful
Hi
U r so young to have RD
I like u
Does masturbation after Vitrectomy causes another retinal.detachment?
I would avoid masturbation as much as possible in general. it can effect the eyes, due to the nutrients lost and the changes in eye pressure. plus avoid lifting weights.
