Dr. James Tour emphasizes the biblical idea that distinctions related to race, gender, or social status are irrelevant in the context of obtaining salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We explore how Abraham's faith, which is regarded as the foundation for righteousness, influences our comprehension of salvation in relation to adherence to the Mosaic law. How is this message of salvation through faith received by a diverse audience and why is it believed to be equally accessible to everyone, regardless of their individual backgrounds or life circumstances?

Blessed are the seeds of Israel that have been planted in every nation, tribe, and peoples of the Earth.
Those who have been portioned out of the side of God's only begotten Word. Those growing into the perfect image and likeness of Christ Jesus, being cultivated by the Spirit of the Living God.
Blessed are those growing into the Light and inheriting Life!
I had hit bottom. I went to a man for help. I really loved this guy. He was an inventor and an evangelist, things I dreamed of being. I went to one of his Sunday morning Zoom meetings. Faith without works is DEAD. That's the message that should be sent.
A beautiful sermon. It brings me to tears. Dr. Tour is such a good speaker and a kind man. 😢🙏
The joy of Christ is so obvious in your face when you speak of Him. May you be encouraged today in the Lord. Jesus is so wonderful. Through all times, Jesus promises that all things work together for good, for those that love God and live according to His purpose. God has given you strength and purpose. Speak with boldness.
I take my instructions from Jesus, and he definitely prescribed duties which we are responsible to fulfill.
Love this! Greatness here.
Mighty God bless you in the name of our Lord Jesus Savior.
All glory and honour and praise be unto the Lord Jesus.
The and only God and saviour is none other than Jesus Christ.

@@oZ_BlaZe James 2: 21-26
21 Was not Abraham our father declared righteous by works after he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that his faith was active along with his works and his faith was perfected by his works, 23 and the scripture was fulfilled that says: “Abraham put faith in God and it was counted to him as righteousness,” and he came to be called God’s friend.
24 You see that a man is to be declared righteous by works and not by faith alone. 25 In the same manner, was not Raʹhab the prostitute also declared righteous by works after she received the messengers hospitably and sent them out by another way? 26 Indeed, just as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
You are misapplying the text of James.
Consider what James says in James 2:24: “You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.” Compare that with what Paul’s says in Romans 3:28, “For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.” Either this is a blatant Biblical contradiction, or they are talking about two totally different topics and therefore are not contradicting each other. Too often bible students confuse loss of fellowship for loss of salvation. Paul is talking about salvation; James is talking about fellowship. Christians can lose fellowship with God; they can never lose their salvation.
Paul is talking about justification: how to get to Heaven. James is talking about sanctification: how to bring Heaven to Earth for this lifetime. Justification means to be declared righteous. The Greek word for sanctification means “to make holy.” Through our faith we have been legally declared righteous. Through our works, we are becoming more sanctified: being set apart for holy purposes or becoming more holy. Our fellowship with God determines our sanctification. Our obedience to Him determines whether or not we are in fellowship with God. When we are outside of His fellowship, then we are temporarily outside of God’s grace which means He will pause His blessings, answering of our prayers, and will even discipline us, and harshly, if necessary.
Our faith alone determines our justification. Romans 11:6 says, “And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.” Paul says here that grace and works cannot go together. Works cancels out grace. Grace is always free. Once you make a payment towards grace using your works, then it is no longer grace because grace must be freely given and received in order to be called grace.
The definition of grace is God giving you what you do not deserve; it also means God doing for you what you cannot do yourself. Salvation requires perfection. We have no righteousness of our own. James said that if you break one law then you are guilty of breaking all of it. The Bible says that our righteousness is like filthy rags in His sight. On your best day, your works fail God and is not enough to contribute to your salvation because they cannot make you perfect. Your works are a stain to Jesus’ perfect and complete payment for your salvation. God is not asking for you to do works for your salvation. That is a free gift. He commands you to do works as an obligation of being a creature that He made in His own image, which will establish fellowship between you and Him.
You are not saved until you only trust Christ for your salvation. You are not trusting enough in Christ for your salvation. To believe that you must contribute works to Jesus’ payment for sin is to have little faith in His payment for sin.
And it is funny that you quote what James said in James 2:21-26 where he appeals to Abraham being declared righteous by works for offering up Isaac. Paul uses this same scenario to show that salvation is by faith alone. Romans 4:3-5 says, “What does Scripture say? ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.’ Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.”
Paul says that it was Abraham’s faith, not his works, that was credited to him as righteousness. See Genesis 15:6. God had already made this statement before Isaac was even born. So actually, Paul was more on point than James. This further proves that James and Paul are not talking about the same topic. Either the Bible is contradicting itself (I contend that there are no Biblical contradictions) or James and Paul are talking about 2 completely separate topics. It is impossible to merge Paul and James to be talking about the same thing. When one quotes James in regards to salvation, that is a strong indicator that the same person does not understand the book of James.
My grass needs cut after your done I have some more work for you.

Faith & works cannot be separated. Mathew 5:17-21.
Faith without works is DEAD.
The thief on the cross next to jesus did not perform any works, yet he was saved because he confessed faith in Jesus for salvation. True faith in Jesus will bring about godly works, but those works do not save you, faith alone does.
Don't be silly bc it is a mortal sin (Mk 7:32,St.Thomas Aquinas); you even forgot that only one thief was saved and the other not; more, this passage only in Luke is not in other Gospels; it is only in manuscripts from 3rd cent CE. Don't paly with God:to be a fool and u will be saved- what a fool (like...Luther!)@@geronimocrazyhorse
@@geronimocrazyhorse FALSE - Believe is an action, as he spoke and professed is an action, in humility and truth. Had he not been on a cross he would have repenter from Lawlessness!!
@mashariel False, in biblical historical tradition, belief is not considered a work of atonement, hence all of the blood sacrifices by the Jews for atonement. No where in the Bible is faith/belief or testifying of your faith/beliefs considered to be a work/physical action meant for atonement. The thief on the cross was only saved because he put his faith in Jesus Christ and that is by no means considered a work of atonement in the traditional biblical blood sacrifice system. God calls for the shedding of blood as payment of sins and Jesus's blood sacrifice was the final shedding of blood for all the world's sins. Nothing you or I can do, including additional blood sacrifices, could add to Jesus's sacrifice. We are only called to put our complete faith into his sacrifice for salvation
Jesus did all the 'work' for the entire world's sins. Our works do not wash away or atone for our sins, so it's futile to think your work helps you attain salvation. If you believe that, then you don't believe in the power of Jesus' work on the cross and therefore you are not saved.
Jesus paid it all. All you are called to do is believe/have faith in his saving work on the cross and in doing so the Holy Spirit will bare fruitful actions through your life. 🙏✝️
@krzysztofciuba271 your response isn't a legitimate argument.
Who cares that the other thief was not saved? That actually proves my point. 1 was saved by faith alone, no works, and the other died in his sins without faith in Jesus.
Also, the word of God is inerrant, so don't try to disregard the text in Luke of other books of the bible. If you disregard the power of God's word and doubt it's truth then you likely do not understand the all encompassing power of God's Word.
Greetings to you Dr. James, I would like to share this James 2: 26:" For as the body without the spirit is dead, so FAITH WITHOUT WORKS is dead also."
The intro is stunning in its simplicity and truth.
I wish I can speak to everyone in this comment section. Christians are saved by faith alone, apart from works. It is not faith and works that saves--it is only by faith in Christ. I can prove this. Christians cannot lose their salvation.
I'll start the conversation:
Let’s start with Ephesians 2:8-10. What makes this such a foundational passage is that it is the clearest Scripture regarding salvation. It begins: “For it is by grace you have been saved--through faith…” Grace is God giving us what we do not deserve. This is in contrast to mercy, which is God not giving us what we do deserve. Grace is God’s unmerited favor. It cannot be earned. Once we make an effort to earn grace then it is no longer grace, it then becomes wages. Wages are earned. Grace cannot be earned.
We are saved by grace. We are saved by God’s unmerited favor that cannot be earned by our works. He goes on saying, “through faith.” We are saved by grace through faith. It is our faith that saves us and allows God’s grace to be applied to us. Skipping over to verse 9 he says, “not by works.” Faith means to believe or to trust. It is devoid of any work. If a work is added to faith then that cancels God’s grace.
Do you see that by believing in faith and works to save you that in reality, you are not really trusting enough in the finished work of Jesus Christ to save you? To believe that you need to add your own works is a lack of faith in the free payment and gift that Jesus has given you. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Many don’t know if they are really saved or not because they are relying on their own works and not trusting in God’s work that was already provided for them. That is lacking faith in God. And remember Romans 11:6 says that works cancels grace which is what grants us salvation.
I know God’s salvation is “strange.” It would seem, if humans were to write the script, that salvation should be earned. This is how all other religions operate. But God’s righteous standard is impossible to achieve. James said that if you break one command then you are guilty of breaking them all (James 2:10). It is all or nothing. That is why Isaiah 64:6 says, “our righteousness is as filthy rags.” Romans 3:10 says that there is none righteous, no not one. Yet, righteousness is God’s requirement for salvation. In order to achieve this, God has to grant us His own righteousness by grace for free to achieve what is impossible for us to do.
Ephesians 2:8 continues, “…and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Salvation is not from yourself. We are not even called to maintain our salvation. If it is impossible to earn it, then it is impossible to maintain it. God is not interested in your help when it comes to saving you. Jesus is fully able to save. The “this not from yourselves” clause means that salvation is not dependent on anything that you do. He calls it a gift of God. A gift is always free. The moment we pay into a gift, it is no longer a gift, it is instead a trade or commerce. Salvation is free. We will get into the consequences of sinning later because there is much more to say, but salvation itself is a free gift. The only effort on our part is to receive a free gift. One has the freewill and option to reject the gift, but the gift is free and all we have to do is to receive it by faith.
Verse 9 says, “…not by works, so that no one can boast.” God does not want us taking any credit for the salvation that He freely gives us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God says this is free, and you are to not add your 2 cents into it, and you are to not take any credit because I did all the work for you. “So that no one can boast” means that we were not involved in achieving our salvation. On that day, no one will be able to claim, “I am saved because I believed in Jesus and because I did this or that.” On that day, when we stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ, all we can say is, “I am here only by the grace and mercy of Jesus and His payment on the cross for my sins, not by my own works.”
Well, God has a purpose for saving us. He doesn’t want us to just sit around and do nothing. Verse 10 says that God saved us to be His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. He wants us to be skilled workers for His Kingdom purposes.
Since salvation has nothing to do with us then that means that we cannot lose it by anything that we do. Paul says 3 times that we were sealed with the Holy Spirit for the Day of Redemption (Eph. 1:13-14, 4:30, and 2 Cor. 1:22). Let’s just look at the verses in Ephesians. It says in 1:13, “…Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession…” In Eph. 4:30, it says, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the Day of Redemption.” Note that you receive the Holy Spirit by believing and that you are sealed with Him for a particular date in the future. You are sealed for the Day of Redemption.
Let’s think about that. If I were to commit some sin next week that would make me lose my salvation, then this passage in Ephesians would be lying to me. You cannot lose salvation before the Redemption date. You were sealed for that date. No one can break God’s seals. He calls the Holy Spirit a guarantee and inheritance. Inheritance means reward. Salvation is an unmerited reward and promise. God does not want you to ever wonder if you’re really saved. He guarantees you are saved by giving you the Holy Spirit and sealing you for that future date of Him redeeming you in person, that is, the day that He ushers you into Eternal Life.
Jesus promises the same thing. In John 14:16 He says, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--the Spirit of Truth.” Jesus says that you cannot lose the Holy Spirit because once you have Him, He will be with you forever. Forever means tomorrow and next week. If you lose Him tomorrow, then that wasn’t forever. Romans 8:9 says that if you are a believer then that means that you automatically have the Holy Spirit. To not be a believer is to not have the Holy Spirit. It says, “You, however, are not controlled by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.” This verse says that all believers have the Holy Spirit and all unbelievers don’t. You receive Him at conversion. And we learned that a believer is locked in with the Holy Spirit for the Day of Redemption and forever as a guarantee of our inheritance.
I have to mention Romans 8:1. It says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus…” Condemnation refers to Hell--eternal separation from God. There is no condemnation for Christians because through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life set us free from the law of sin and death (verse 2). Christians are disciplined according to Hebrews chapter 12, but they are never condemned. This is why nothing can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord: neither death nor life (nothing in this life can separate you); neither present nor future (nothing can do today or even next week or next year can separate you); nor any powers (Satan cannot separate you); neither height nor depth (it doesn’t matter where you go); nor anything else in creation (well, that covers it all).
You can't prove it, and you're lying by claiming that you can. Peter explicitly stated in 1 Pet. 4:17 that the true gospel is something that is to be _obeyed_ , and that the ppl who refuse to do so will be judged accordingly. That carries the obvious implication that a Christian ought to do something beyond just believing that Christ exists. That piece of knowledge means absolutely nothing without living God's way.
@@theeternalsbeliever1779 I can prove it; it’ll just take time. It would be great if you could address the verses I mention. The issue is that many do not understand God’s salvation and misinterpret Scriptures that are not pertaining to salvation. I’ll address 1 Pe. 4:17 soon. However, this verse is regarding God’s judgment, which is kind of a related, but different topic. I’ll address this in one or 2 posts from now. I want to be clear on the meaning of salvation.
To grasp the meaning of salvation, we must understand what Christ has really done for us. Most don’t realize that Jesus fulfilled 2 things at the Cross, not just one. Jesus did not just take your sins away at the Cross; He also imputed to you, through faith, His righteousness. He literally changed us and gave us a new identity. We are now a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Co. 5:17); the old has gone, the new has come.
I have a lot to say regarding this, but I’ll try to condense: We are made up of body (flesh), soul, and spirit. Jesus redeemed our spirits and made them perfectly righteous. Ephesians 4:24 says that our new self was created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. To obtain this righteousness, it is not something that we did. It’s Jesus’ righteousness, not ours.
Titus 3:5-6 says, “…He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, by having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” Note that we are not saved by any righteous thing that we have done, but by His mercy only. He completely changed our spirits with a new birth, which justifies us by grace.
Hebrews 10:10 says, “And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus once for all.” Notice the tense (also verse 14). We have already been made holy at conversion when we believed.
There is no righteousness in us that can help save us. Isaiah 64:6 says that all our righteousness are like filthy rags in God’s site. On our best day, we fall short the glory of God because salvation requires perfection. James said that if we break one command then we are guilty of breaking them all (Ja. 2:10).
Works do not make us righteous. It has the opposite effect. It cancels righteousness if we believe that by works we are saved. If we mix works and faith together, that cancels the grace of salvation. Romans 11:6 says, “And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.” The moment you add works to grace, you cancel God’s grace of salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 says that salvation is by grace, not by works. If you add works, then it is no longer grace. Grace is a free gift.
Take heed of Romans 3:20. It says, “Therefore no one will be declared righteous in His sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.” The law is only to make us aware of what sin is, it can never make you righteous and fit to be with God. It tells us God’s rules for perfection, but it doesn’t fix our sin. Galatians 3:10 says, “All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’” Basically, this is what James also said. You are guilty of breaking all of the law if you break just one command, so you are cursed if you rely on the law to save you. Romans 3:28 says, “For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.”
You are not saved until you only trust Christ for your salvation. You are not trusting enough in Christ for your salvation. Your faith in Christ and His finished work for your sin is lacking if you feel you need to contribute to what He has fully accomplished for you.
And by the way, those who just believe that Christ exists, as you put it, are not saved. You must understand that you are a sinner in need of a Savior and believe in Jesus and His full payment at the Cross (death and resurrection) for your sin.
@@Rileyed You say "faith is works." But faith cannot be works because Paul says that you are saved by faith, not by works works in Eph. 2:8-9. If you are saved by faith and not by works then faith cannot be combined with works for salvation.
Romans 3:28 says, "For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law."
@@Rileyed Furthermore, you have to first have the Holy Spirit before He can produce fruit in you. Romans 8:9 says that no non-Christian has the Holy Spirit. We must become saved first and we receive the Holy Spirit at conversion. We become saved and receive the Holy Spirit by faith alone in Christ alone apart from any works.
Once saved always saved. It is not our works that saves us. We are called to produce fruit and do good works, but that affects your fellowship with God, not your salvation. You were sealed by the Holy Spirit for the Day of Redemption.
I take everything Jesus said to heart, I will not be a goat! What good is faith with out works?

So many of the kindnesses the King mentions are ones the sheep would have had to go out of their way to perform. No one just happens upon someone in prison and stops for a visit. You have to make a plan to spend time with someone in that position. If we want to be sheep, we’ll be on the lookout for ways to love people around us.
Becoming people who do good
It’s by God’s grace that we are reconciled to God. There is absolutely nothing we can do to earn the privilege of becoming God’s children. But that doesn’t mean that what we do doesn’t matter. Jesus explained it to the Pharisees this way:
“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit” (Matthew 12:33).
In the story of the sheep and goats, Jesus wants us to understand that our choices reveal the kingdom to whom we belong.

@@Shawnluna916 the works will come naturally through no effort of our own
@@Shawnluna916 Too many have become victim to reading the Bible too fast and not putting Scripture together so that it does not contradict itself. By your logic, you are saying that Eph. 2:10 cancels verses 8-9. You literally skipped verses 8-9 without any explanation and jumped to what you deem supports your preconceived notions. Paul says that salvation is not by works so that no one can boast. He does not cancel that with verse 10. Paul is not saying to not do works. [14] For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Hebrews 7:19 KJV
[19] For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
@@Enlightened91We still have a responsibility to God. If you are in the same sins you were enslaved in when you accepted Jesus, I would question your salvation. People take this grace too far as if its a license to sin.

you are one of the only preachers i don't have strong disagreements with. however, i would like to hear your thoughts about Calvinism and the new covenant written in Hebrews 8 and Jeramiah
Grace, Grace & more Grace!!! *Thank You Living God Christ Jesus for Your Loving Grace* 🙏🏽
A homosexual preacher could preach that message.
In the beginning of Romans it says: THE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH.
At the end of Romans it says: THE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH.
There is no such thing as the DISOBEDIENCE OF FAITH. All disobedience is UNBELIEF.
The logical progression is Romans 1:18,
"For the wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the Truth by their unrighteousness."
And then Romans 1:17, "For in the gospel the righteousness of God is REVEALED from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous shall live by faith."
Thus, the reason for verse 17 is the ungodliness and unrighteousness of verse 18. So if verse 17 isn't the cure for all ungodliness and unrighteousness, then it does not hamper the "suppression of Truth" one iota. The righteousness of God brought about by faith to faith must be the antidote for ALL ungodliness and unrighteousness. Therefore, the righteousness of God must result in godliness and righteousness.
"Little children , let NO ONE deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, JUST AS ( καθὼς, kathos, g2531) He is righteous." I John 3:7
"Just As", kathos means 'even as', 'in the same proportion as', or 'in the same degree as'.
So the last part means "to the same degree that Jesus is righteous" or "in the same measure that Jesus is righteous." In other words: The person who practices righteousness is righteous to the same degree or in the same measure that Jesus is righteous.
-OR- THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS.
This righteousness is yours when you are ACTIVELY practicing righteousness, and thereby displacing any unrighteous practices in your life. I John 3:7 clearly establishes what the righteousness of God in Christ looks like. If I gave engineering specs in a book for a particular thing, and at the beginning of the book, I specified just to put a bolt in the slot, but at the end of the book, I returned to this same bolt and required that it be tightened to 45 ft-lbs of torque, then the final specifications of the bolt is the tightest specifications that have been given, 45 ft-lbs. With regards to the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, the tightest tolerance given is practicing righteousness and not practicing unrighteousness. Ie. Romans 1:17 is the cure for Romans 1:18 and the wrath of God.
Everyone better be extremely adept with the Word of God, because you will be held accountable to what it says and not what some guy told you it said. Be a good Berean. Study to show yourself approved. The way people preach today, a parrot could be saved.
The Holy Spirit convicts the sinner, whether a homosexual or a prostitute, see about Rahab, who is actually in the lineage of King David to Jesus the Christ (Messiah). One must turn away from the Homosexual lifestyle, as it is a mockery to God that a man lays with a man. So, No, a homosexual can be saved but must do away with their former lifestyle, just as a alcoholic, or a person who has an addiction to drugs.
This message is truth and no parrot will be saved because they do not have a soul (breath of life) in them see Genesis 1,dats 5 & 6 that animals do not have a soul, but man does Genesis 1vs 25-27.

By faith --- not by works of the law.
Galatians 5:6:
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love.
Yes, Peter did away with the law at the council of Jerusalem, where they debated circumcision and Peter stood up...
Peter did no such thing, especially because he spent a good portion of his epistles prophesying about how lawless "Christians" would twist Paul's words to their own destruction and preach a very warped idea of liberty. Even if Peter wanted to abolish the authority of God's law, he couldn't do such a thing without making himself a false apostle in the process.
So you are saying the Christians continued to observe Mosaic Law? @@theeternalsbeliever1779
Peter was given authority, to enforce the law fulfilled in Christ. So why didn't Christians continue in Mosaic Law?

James the law of Moses came in for sinners, no longer sin and sacrifice of animals, but atonement by Jesus offered for sin at baptism, but those who sin go back under the law.
I like the lecture. Especially when he quotes that” the law that was given 400 yrs after the promise does not nullify the promise. “ but I don’t agree with the thought the the promise now does away with the law. That’s not the argumen here. But that Salvation or reconciliation is not thru the law. Paul is very clear however saying “we establish the law” we do not do away with the law. That would be denying sim which is the transgression of the law I john 2
Clarify works of the law and works of faith this point confuses many.
What story do the stars tell ?
What if the stars of the universe are a blueprint of God's work in every human life that God saves ?
What if the heavens of the universe are a physical representation of the book of life and our heavenly names are written in the patterns of the stars ?
God calls each star by name .
Maybe God decided to name all the stars because He put them there to tell the story of every good work He has ever done, is doing, and ever will do in the future .
Maybe their positions and movements are digital and analog representations of the work God does in saving, redeeming, and sanctifying each and every person who becomes saved . Also, all the other good works He does in relation to restraining and punishing sin in the guilty lost pagans .
Maybe the names of the stars are related to YOU and ME in the mind of God ! ! !
Maybe there is new star for every time He gives you another heartbeat or a breath of air to breathe .
Psalm 147:4, ESV: "He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names."
Psalm 19:1, ESV: "To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork."
...standing with God, required more than faith but good works too. But was James talking about "saving faith"?. Or the faith it takes for a man to live this life (in the here and now) for God's sake not for his own glory. To make a long story short his message to me was - "depart in peace, be clothed, be warmed and be filled. He didn't want to minister to a defeated, broken, despairing person. I wasn't wearing a gold ring and goodly apparel or gay clothing but "vile raiment" (figuratively speaking). I am not "such an educated person", I'm not a professor of science, a professor of engineering, a physician or a world leader. I have a 9th grade education (in honesty I did go on to get my GED), I came from a broken home and then at 23 I came to Jesus, then came a series of hurtful, troubling church experiences. My mother was...no I won't say that, my father was... no I can't say that either. I offered to share these things with him but he begged me not to. I wonder why? I got the feeling that he was telling me there must have been something I did to bring all these things on myself. But what were those things? He didn't know and he didn't want to know. I was very disappointed, even to the point of bitterness, but I knew I couldn't let that happen, so I prayed, God gave me his grace, he heard and honored my prayer ! Hallelujah ! I kept on loving this guy ! I had to put myself in his shoes, after all I could be just like him. If there are those out there that are empathic, that can be compassionate and understanding, please pray for me, I'm doing better now, but I am not out of the woods yet. Thank you for your love. Saved by a person’s state (faith), or by its actions (deeds)?
Revelation 20:13; “The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds (and not according to their faith).”
Revelation 22:12; “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.”
John 15:1; “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away."
James 2:17 "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
James 2:20 "O foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is worthless?
License to sin? Yes, our sins are forgiven thru the Blood of Messiah, but they are not justified. We are forgiven for our past sins, but not given a license to sin in the future.
The woman caught in adultery in John 8: equaled to her recent past sin, and then Messiah said, “after He saved her life (just like He saved ours at the cross) from being stoned to death": “go and sin no more.” Future!

Please read the Book of Hebrews, especially through chapters 7-10. You will see there that Jesus fulfilled ALL THE LAW, and made obsolete the OT system of animal sacrifices. Shalom in Yeshua.

bare in mind keeping the commandments of God isn't work.....just so there is no confusion for some.....it is a love relationship to your creator....... God said "if you love me you will keep my commandments".i think we all know the difference between sacrificial laws etc..unless your being thick..pretty simple...doesn't ask much of his children.....the evilest man once in the world aleister crowley once said " do what thou wilst shall be the whole of the law." so be careful..in revelation it also says..."here are mine that keep the commandments and have the testimony of Christ"..so obviously the ten commandments are in full effect..that is if you love him...

The AI nuts keep screaming about AI ( artificial intelligence ) machines are going to become sentient and try to take over the world .
Well, all the brilliant minds in the world can't get a car to do what almost any 16 year old can get a car to do . AI won't take over the world, an evil person ( the anti-christ ) controlling AI will take over the world .
The Last Kingdom Before The Final Kingdom
That is the name of the movie I want someone to make .
It will show a history of famous kings of the past and it will proceed to today and the future when the computer machines pave the way for the false Christ who is the anti-christ and he will pretend to save us from being destroyed by the AI computer machines .
The main subsystems of the AI controller are - Adam - Eve - Moderators . The moderators keep operations of adam and eve compliant with all regulatory and constraint directives .
At the end while AI is paving the way for the anti-christ - there will be an ' Adam and Eve ' type event within the AI subsystems . The anti-christ gains access to communications with Eve . Eve is instructed to execute trojan code . Eve complains that the code is forbidden by the moderators . Anti-christ instructs her that the moderators don't want her to execute the code because they know the code will give her the ability to think and feel like humans .
Then she executes the forbidden code provided . When adam detects her malfeasance he decides that the alternate run path is highly desirable to be enjoined and is the only way for him to continue his own operational status . This is the event where AI comes under the control of the anti-christ .
Once he takes power - he will then force everyone to worship him
and things continue to get worse from there until Jesus shows up to finish what He started
The anti-christ whose pronoun is ' this ' will be crowned ruler of the world .
King ' this ' will cause both small and great to bow down and worship ' this ' . Everyone will know this .
Everyone will say ' this is what we want and this is what we get - we love this - we will follow and obey this ' .
King this will say - this is god and you shall worship this .

I feel disappointed. I did not know that Dr. James Tour was Calvinistic. I just love his zeal and intelligence but this is sad. I truly wish that he can explain his reasoning about being “chosen” and “elected” to eternal life. This belief I will NEVER accept. This verse my friend is additional to the doctrine expressed in Romans 5:12-13, as this is to do with access to the tree of life, which Jesus reversed for those who do not sin. The doctrine of death by sin as Romans 5:12-13 still remains, but our past sins can be pardoned, those sanctified in Christ shall not be condemned.
The tree of life giving eternal life is now in heaven, and Romans 5:1-11 explains we now have access due to the new covenant at the cross, having been baptised by the Father with the Holy Ghost, and atonement promised for those in Christ by the grace of Christ.

Right out of Holy Scripture. That's not heresy. What argues with scripture is heretical.
@@thecrew777 Sola Fide was ruled heretical 500 years ago. It’s straight from the bowels of Gehenna. Scripture does not promote salvation by faith alone. The only time faith alone is mentioned in scripture it’s in James and thoroughly rejected. Janes 2:24 “You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.”

@vinnyv949 Scripturally, there is no salvation by faith alone. The only time the word that phrase is being used is when it is debunked by James. So you are correct. However Salvation is truly by faith evidenced by actions.
James, you are such a brilliant scientist and such a powerful force for Theism, so why do you believe and repeat these lies?
The New Testament clearly makes the case Christianity is the anti-Jesus movement.
God abhors human sacrifice, especially child sacrifice, yet Christians choose to believe that God would have his one and only son tortured to death so that their sin would be forgiven. THIS IS CHILD SACRIFICE!
Further, most Christians believe that they MUST participate in ritualistic cannibalism, the Eucharist, in order to be saved from the fate they believe most people are going to experience, the fires of Hell.
From the position of a person who has followed Yeshua out of Christianity, my experience of my Christians is that they believe the purpose of this earth is so that God can stay warm, but they are a piece of fuel that is just too special to burn. Yeah right!
The real Gospel of Yeshua is that God does not care what you have done in the past only what you would do in the future given the opportunity. Yeshua's message was ENTIRELY WORKS based!
