I think the next wave of Tourist should come to a place Zi Char place away from touristy place to have reasonable price food locals can afford. When i return from USA for a short break, KEK has been one of my go to with my former classmates

Liver is such an underrated dish.
I used to say that Australians have two main pastimes: cricket and one of the football codes. In Singapore, you go shopping and eat out!

I have always loved liver, kidney, heart and my mother used to cook tripe and onions in a white broth which was spicy and delicious. I also like haggis, black, red and mealy puddings. I wish I had paid more attention to how these delicousies were prepared. I can’t eat chicken feet or jellied eels though. Does this make me weird?

Did you try the Avocado juice/shake at Alexandra Village Food Centre? It's so good.

Yes last year. We almost had it on the menu at mei mei but costs of good avo are redonkulous

@@AuntieLiz I picked up a load of avo for 50 cents each at a fruit stand that was closing for the season. And that's when I can't go pick'em off my friend's tree 🙂

Even though i live near the alexandra outlet, i was put off by the idols altar within the dining area, & was not comfortable to dine or do a take away. And had to try it at their safra outlet in the east due to religious reasons of discomfort. Very good Zi char but for the presence of their worship idols.

Holy smoke the scale of the kitchen looks like one from a hotel. There is a head chef and sous chef.

Thanks for sharing this. Real honest cooking. I'm skinny and barely eat, but I respect the technique. Didn't mean to rhyme, but just a good honest place to get solid food done right.

I don’t think you get the opportunity to eat well prepared offal that said liver and onions is tasty if prepared well . I will eat it if it’s on offer but as usual in the UK people cook for the masses not the individual

I love liver, it's so underrated, just has to be cooked well, as a fellow chef I love it.

Thats the trick. Pig liver has to cook well to avoid Trichonella but have to be soft and tender - from a fellow Terence
