I think it is quite comedic and amazing that in the ride you pass by him for 2 seconds and they made an entirely different version of the song for him.
Splash Mountain was one of the greatest Disneyland rides of all time! My absolute favorite, I grew up on this ride and loved it. The closure of the ride was horrible, and it should have never been closed in the first place. It was a victim of political times which is sad. However, the only positive thing I make from this is that Splash Mountain has now gone on to become legendary. Just the fact we can't ride it anymore and it is physically gone, plus the fact it was the most popular ride at the parks. In Walt Disney World it is still voted as the most popular ride even though it is gone. From now on all younger people going to the parks will have no experience with the ride at all. Splash Mountain has actually become mythic now because of its closing.
It's still a log flume. If you think you're losing "one of the greatest (Disney) rides of all time" you didn't actully care about the RIDE. Splash Mountain? It's been documented with videos and audio clips such as this; some Disney attractions barely HAVE that luxury. It is NOT "physically gone" and to claim as much is proping up a theme and story that is ... racist. Doesn't make you racist, but it doesn't make you look good; again, it's not "physically gone." If you care about the log flume the story shouldn't matter, just ride the ride. If you care about the story the log flume shouldn't matter, just watch a video.
@@ComicAuzi If you only care about the ride's ride system and not the story, environment, characters, or music; then you'd be better off going to Six Flags. The idea that people should be alright with the retheme because the ride system is still there suggests a clear misunderstanding of so many love these parks. It is a mindset that people only started parading around after Disney decided to rid the parks of one of the most popular attractions just for the sake of virtue signaling to the tiny group of people who deliberately choose to find offense in places where there is none. Speaking of which, there was nothing in Splash Mountain that was racist. The storyline was not at all racist. If the argument is that its source material was racist, then that means Disney should also get rid of Peter Pan's Flight, Dumbo, and Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, just to name a few.
@@TCMACK Well they did remove the head hunters from the Jungle Cruise, they can remove the racist bits in Peter Pan's Flight too. And dragging Runaway Railway into this? Picnickers might've been a mistake/too tricky to pronounce but at least have an argument in good faith, c'mon. As for the idea that the "story was not racist at all" ... that 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 be true. But the characters 𝘢𝘳𝘦 racist. The choice to have Jess Harnell voice Br'er Rabbit 𝘸𝘢𝘴 and 𝘪𝘴 racist (no disrespect to him, just the casting director). You brought up Dumbo, an innocent elephant character. I agree that the crows are racist which makes the movie racist, but Br'er Rabbit and company get a pass? Peter Pan's Flight: remove the natives, done. Dumbo the Flying Elephant: no crows, solved. Runaway Railway: they could just record a new line. Splash Mountain: you'd have to remove the 3 main characters. I'm not likely to change your mind on this point. I only hope that you'll give Tiana and her friends a chance.
@@ComicAuzi The idea that Br’er Rabbit is racist is simply false. And the idea that getting Jess Harnell to voice a cartoon rabbit is racist is certainly a stretch to be certain. The only questionable parts of Song of the South were not included in the attraction, and it even got approval from the NAACP, as they were consulted during the ride’s development. With that established, the only reason that the ride was rethemed was that its source material was questionable, not the ride itself. So if we are going by the logic that something should be entirely removed because of questionable source material, then Dumbo as an IP should be removed, same with Peter Pan and Mickey. On the latter, if Splash Mountain had to go because of Song of the South, then Mickey should have to go due to him doing blackface back in the day, something that’s far worse than anything in Song of the South.
@@TCMACK So because Splash Mountain only retains the animal minstrel show and has nothing to do with race relations post-Civil War that means it's not racist. Did I get that right? Oh, my mistake! Splash Mountain had the NAACP on its side, so I guess I don't know what I'm talking about! Did you know the black-fish from The Little Mermaid isn't in Ariel's Undersea Adventure?

This is the song I'll be singing while I wait for the bus to bring me to Disneyland on my California trip, haha!
I still wonder why they didn’t include him in the Magic Kingdom version.
Probably wouldnt flow well with the layout, and brer roadrunner replaced him
@@tigermoth00 He's also in the Tokyo Disneyland version (the only Disney park in the world keep Splash Mountain).
Defunct Splash Mountain 😭🌊⛰🐻🦊🐰🪵

Maybe they can find a way to work him into a scene with Louis?
I really hope he is, yes. Same with Br’er Rabbit, somehow.
