A lot of these tests test material that is never, ever used on the job the applicant is applying for, or for that matter, very much in daily life at all!!!
Encountered this test for the first time today. It caught me off guard, but I made it through 43 questions and felt confident in most of my answers. I thought I failed because I didn't complete all 50.
@@sicarioworld4088 No, the questions weren't difficult at all. The main problem is the time limit. If you find yourself stumped on a question or unable to solve it quickly, it's best to skip it and move on to the next. Best of luck; you got this!
PS: The difficulty of the exam may correspond with the position you're applying for. My test was for an Information Technology position, which requires STEM knowledge. So if you're applying for a non-STEM job, the test may be a bit easier to manage.
BINGO! I get insulted. I've been working for insurance agents for over 30 years. Why am I having to do geometry before I can even get a conversation with the agent who most likely is using a recruiter and taking their advice, not even a conversation before being rejected in a lot of cases.

“If the first two statements are true, is the final statement true?” Some of the cats are healthy Mitzi is a cat Mitzi is healthy For the logical reasoning question is that a trick question or would it be true?
Hello Angelo! In the example you provided, the third statement is not necessarily true if the first two are. "Some of the cats are healthy"- If this is true, then it is possible that there are unhealthy cats. So even if Mitzi is a cat, they could be unhealthy (but I hope they are healthy!).
The test does nothing to incorporate adjustments for age and other factors. Is does not value immense experience and so penalizes experience (a highly tenured CEO) in favor of a good test taker (recent MBA age 30 years). For the "victims", Wlic is only a failure mode not a success mode. As a senior tech exec, I have never seen one, not one test of any type that is a particularly good indicator as compared to thorough interviews and a person's success. I have hired thousands and thousands. Let's put it this way. If Tom Brady were to have to do the combine, he would fail. That is Wlic. It would never, ever reveal a Tom Brady as the GOAT. It would only serve to fail out greatness in favor of speed test results. Use a successful track record doing a job as the measure as to whether a person can and will do the job well. Tests like this only serve to build an eco-system of dependency by poor recruiters, hiring execs, and an eco system for candidates that are panicked to figure out how to run the traps. This is a crutch, discriminates, and is a cruel thing to do to someone that has produced 16-18 years of superb academic experience and 20+ years of superb professional experience.
Companies adopting this type tests are not really looking for experience and dedication but instead, fresh and susceptible minds to indoctrinate. Thing is, kids passing with flying color ain't no stupid, they jump ship asap, which further justifies the value of cheap high turnover hiring assembly line ... Glad to hear there's still hope out there, somewhere, if I were ever to bump into you, someday, outside the metaverse 🙃
If employers would just use good, common sense, they wouldn't need gimmicks like this. They wouldn't need to waste their time and job applicants' time with tests over subject matter that has nothing to do with anything anyone does in real life.
Question: i did a sample wonderlic online and I had 12 mins to do 50 questions. I could only get to question 21 in that time. So my question is this: Should i take my time and do as many as i can OR should i only spend 15 to 20 seconds or so on each question and aim to complete all 50 questions???
This is a very good question, and I'll try to answer it. First of all, it's important to know that the average score for the Wonderlic test is 20, but this changes depending on your desired role. You will probably pass most tests with a score of 30, and a score of 40 will get you through anything. So to answer your questions, I have to say it really depends. You should aim to answer as many questions correctly as you can, but you don't want to waste too much time on a question. If after 30 seconds on a question, you're not close to a solution, make an educated guess and move on. If you feel from the start of a question you have no way of getting it right, don't waste even 2 seconds on it. You don't need all 50 questions, most times 30 is enough. I hope this helps.
