People often ask about his beautiful magical guitar and where its made....well i believe its just a piece of wood and thats all...Buts its the person who plays it give the life....he can make a $100 guitar sound like a $10000 guitar.....He is one of my fav guitarist......
Actually neither this guitar handles the open tuning so well. The notes fall a bit flat up the neck. Tuning setup is optimized by string gauge. It could be any price-range guitar, as long as it's functional.
I know everybody plays with their strings in tune...but why does Masaaki always seem to be MORE in tune than anyone else??Absolutely perfect! Such command! Such tone! And the echo allows him to compose with notes of any duration. Also, while I very much respect the 'organic' nature of a lot of fingerstyle picking, Master Kishibe NEVER plays a note just because it's there, or just because his fingers are there...know what I mean?
I'm finding you almost ten years to the day. I wish I would've found you sooner. Absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to get to my Guitar. I hope you are well, as I am seeing you in the past. I'm looking over your Songbook and can't wait to try out some these Gems. Thank you.
Masaaki-sama does what he does as perfectly as anyone possibly could. Unlike a lot of fingerstyle players, he never picks a note just because his finger and the string are right there (though there's definitely a place for that approach, too), it's always because the composition calls for that note. The man is a treasure.
This reminded me of every single sad moments in anime. Simply beautiful and tear jerking, a wonderful piece of music. You just earned a new fan to your couple of thousands.
Firstly I salute you for having the one of the most well written comments on the entire Google network. My theory on the subject involves the social aspect of how music is perceived. Today's pop culture tends to be really shallow, and really not encouraging people to use their minds to their full extent. You can really see these on the media, mainly music and television, not to mention the chaos of grammar and stupidity that composes the internet. I'll continue in another post.
I am thankful Such beautiful melody played by such talented be artist I feel like this music soothe the mind when you feel like you don't have control of your life or regret not having achieve what you wanted in life ....
Now, as contrast to what the guy you responded to said, I'm not calling people "dumb for hearing dumb music", but I do believe that they either don't care to or don't want to use their minds to the fullest. Being smart or "extremely intelligent" seems to isolate those who are smart from those around them, I know from personal experience that people were intimidated by me and hesitated to get close to me, even though that I tried to be as social as one can be. Sorry for the long read..
Now, taking the mentioned in prior posts and connecting it to my theory: music comes in a variety of shapes, styles and complexities, but there are a couple of distinct phases to each of those. I'll give you pop music and heavy metal as examples. Pop music, as it is the "popular" music is usually simpler to understand, and doesn't require much in order to have a lot of fun with. You can dance to it, jump to it or just stare blankly at a wall and still enjoy it. The 500 character limit is a mess.
As contrast, there are people who are either encouraged to or unafraid to use their minds.. well, at all actually. That tend to be very open to music in general, thus explaining why you said you know many that enjoy the simpler music, and at the same time have fun while listening to the more "brain-cracking" complexities as demonstrated in some types of metal, classical music or masterpieces like the one in the video. The final post is next, finally.
The album where the song is taken from 'Miracle Mountain', seems to be produced for the NHK documentary of Mt. Fuji. I have that DVD, and all the songs used in that documentary is from that album.. So it is more likely that M. Kishibe wrote these songs taking inspiration from Mt. Fuji.
It all comes down to the culture, pop culture and mainstream at a given place and time. If one's culture and surrounding is less shallow than today's mainstream, he'll probably end up being totally open to any music type, due to not having that "over-extension" factor to consider, while those who live in a shallow [that sounds really vain and smug, but it's the best way for me to articulate the term and phenomena] culture, will either be secularized musically, or drawn to the more simple things.
Hi, my friend, this sounds just beautifull. Could I ask you what gear did you use for getting that nice sound out of youf accoustic? I.e. pickup, amp/sim, processing etc.....? Great music !

Arjun Malik I used to believe it too though , but with $100 guitar, you can't even make special tunes
