Orchestral Kirby - Rainbow Resort Theme

Welcome to the ninth arrangement in a series on transforming 8-bit Kirby tunes into virtual orchestra versions. This series involves Kirby's Adventure, the 1993 NES platform game by HAL. For the current video I worked on Hirokazu Ando's & Jun Ishikawa's beloved "Rainbow Resort" theme! It was also featured in sundry subsequent Kirby franchise games.
The original theme consists of (A) a short introduction, (B) the main theme, and (C) a secondary theme played twice, raised by half a step the second time around. In my version I orchestrated the piece more or less three times: once following the aforementioned scheme. The second time I loop back to the main theme, skipping the intro, highlighting secondary voices instead of the main line. The third time opens with a false return to the main melody before segueing back to the intro. The main theme and the first half of the secondary theme are dressed up in a sort of yuletide arrangement. Instead of rising a half step the second time around the secondary theme drops down a minor third whilst the arrangement changes to Conan the Barbarian styled epicness. The piece ends with a brief coda written in free form. It uses some melodic fragments of the Rainbow Resort Theme and ends on the tonic of the main theme.

I have been working on an album for my other channel: ua-cam.com/play/PLDvdnxDqlaCtWJjTWlRACVqvxJBZhPKpP.html . This necessitated me taking a break from this channel. Although I am satisfied with the amount of Kirby tunes I have orchestrated here, I might add a few in the future. There are handful that would be cool to give the treatment, such as the one that opens the second 'Ice Cream Island' world. I have also contemplated a medley of shorter tunelets. If however I manage to come around to new ones, it won’t be in the immediate future.

My favorite world, the animation is getting better and better, exactly how we would progress through the game and be more stronger to beat it ^^
