- The girls went shopping for new clothes and have major breakdowns when realizing they are are "big girls" now. They can no longer fit into the "toddler" clothes...now they must wear little girl clothes!
Ava becomes very emotional and doesn't want to grow up, and feels there aren't good clothes in the "little girl" section. Mama shows the girls that getting bigger is part of life and they can find pretty clothes they enjoy just as much as they did when they were younger.
Why do we have to grow up? It happens to all of us...it's part of the journey.
Sometimes we must accept that we are getting bigger, older, and hopefully wiser:)

Aaaah.... watching Ava almost made me want to cry with her... just so precious and adorable the way kids express their emotions; tenders the heart every time. And it brings back memories (personally) I recall my 7-yr daughter saying she didn't want to ever grow-up, leave home and get married... but that she wanted to stay home with me forever. Of course I melted at heart of her mother-love. Such is priceless and everlasting of memories... when they are so young, sweet and innocent. Treasure the days! @McClure Twins Family 🤗💕👯
I really love how you balance the love and attention for the kids. When one or both are having a hard time you all take the time to listen, comfort, and explain. You can tell they feel safe to express themselves and that's amazing.

I remember that video a couple of years ago when Alexis cried because of Ava being a minute older and then Ava cried later because she didn't want Alexis to be larger than her.
Great decision to have separate dressers and divide the closet. I love the 'Old Maybe' store, it was hilarious! Well Ava, I went through the same thing, but I wasn't growing out of the 5T size, I was growing out of Jr. sizes. I thought the store had everything mixed up. Well, what a big change and adjustment that was for me! Ami, I enjoyed the explanation you gave the girls about growing up and finding clothes that were just a pretty to wear. Good job Ava and Alexis!!

Your right! She was upset but she realized she still could find things she likes even if she couldn’t wear the baby sizes anymore. Life is full of change. It’s how we handle those changes that says how adaptable we are. They are being taught to be adaptable. Beautiful lesson indeed❤️

I’m 57 and growing up kind of sucks. The girls have a valid point. Actually, I think all children go through a phase of not wanting to grow up. You guys have superb parenting skills. I love how you both talk to the kids and also listen to them. That’s very important. The videos just keep getting better. This is a great resource for new parents. Thanks for sharing.

YES, absolutely! Having their own sides/areas of shared spaces promotes individuality - like their bedroom (their largest, shared space)!
So sweet Ava not wanting to grow up. She has been the one more intuned emotionally. I think it is a great idea to separate their things which helps in furthering their development. I also hear them speaking clearer already. I enjoy watching them as they "grow up" And look forward to each new vlog posted. Jersey is next! God Bless.

I had the most wonderful childhood. The love of my parents and other family members and friends. They treated us like celebrities when they saw us ( other family members). I never wanted to grow up either. At age twenty-one, I decided that I would stop telling my age. So yes, I understand Ava.

So surprised to see Ava crying! Wow she was really serious realizing the grow-up. Ami, you did a great job explaining the new sizes. I was the same way about my shoes, especially at Easter time. Alexis kept looking at her Sissie and wondering if she should be sad, too... I have to admit I miss wearing the jelly shoes with the sparkles! And the bra! I laughed so loud! Oh ... the different sides of the closet is a good idea. They're so smart! Happy Family!

Such an awesome milestone, but I remember it was tough to find appropriate styles. The fashion wants the kids to go up way too fast especially little girls but Old Navy has done phenomenal job at keeping a kid a kid. I shopped there for both my kids when they were little, they’re 14 and 17 now. My son is a 17-year-old and doesn’t care what he wears long as I bring home for him...my daughter on the other hand is 14 and is very much just a 14-year-old young girl....she’s not trying to be older than she is and shopping for her right now is tough. Although I must say we’ve been fortunate that the Levi brand shorts are in appropriate length because she won’t wear the short shorts nor do I think a 14-year-old should be. These all the things you get to look forward, but you have wonderful kids so I am sure it’ll be just as much fun as I have with mine. Lots of love to you all 😘 Kim

I cried at the very beginning of the video, Ava's sadness was very touching, it's so rare to see a kid value their childhood that much, thinking that maybe when they grow up they won't be as happy as they are as a child.. I hope Ava gets better, she seems a bit scared of growing up but I know you (mom and dad) will assure her that it's okay to grow up, it just happens and it's always awesome to grow as a person, just let them know that every time they grow it means that they are even better people than before so it's something they should be proud of, not sad

It’s seems that Alexis is so optimistic and spontaneous and Ava is more emotional and thrives around what’s familiar. I love that they’re both true to themselves and not try to act like their sister. Love them so much ❤️

I understand Ava's painful dilemma of going to a higher dress size. Sometimes the dresses aren't as colorful and fun and stylish! Alexis was a bit more ready to move on. Maybe they can design children's clothes! Can't forget the Juice man! I'm sure the twins can move plenty of clothes off some racks for girls and boys! These episodes are so cool! We can all relate! 👍👍
