Y'all thank you for putting my mind at ease. I live off grid and fill our water tank with creek water. I had my phone in my sweater pocket and it fell directly into the creek (not even a M deep about knee deep for me at 5'2") I panicked. Was down there for a minute at most. My mic seemed a little wonky at first, but works perfectly fine now and so does everything else! AND, not even a scratch from the fall (it hit cement first) 10/10 recommend this phone!
Real talk bro, I took my my brand new (atleast what I thought)s9 plus to the pool and within seconds it done....went to repair it,guy told me it was a refurbished phone
@@live_easy7635 Yeah you can seal it back up properly if you take your time with the waxxy adhesive. I don't really take my new from factory phone even in the water though. Only had a few cases while fishing where it went under fully. In that case it was a refurbish g6, and it didn't break. Still works to this day. I guess it depends who does it too
I got 20 month old S21 ultra and it got water damaged the moment my friend spilled a bottle of water on it. Isolations wear off in time and warrantly wont accept it. Rip
I dropped my S21 in water 2 times and it still works perfectly fine. I still can't believe it still works with no problems. Most phones would have been done for, but this joker keeps going! Each time I dropped it by mistake. I will not go for #3, I'm to scared that might be the death of my phone. But it does work
Samsung states already that it is okay and manageable to submerge it underwater 1.5m for 30 minutes. You can throw it in your bathtub or anything you want, you paid for it to be waterproof so it's not bad to use it 😏
That was impressive. They say two minutes under water, but clearly that's just a precaution and it can withstand 30 minutes with no issues, possibly even longer.
I know what we can speculate but to me, this is pretty clear that the durability and water resistance is excellent. I'm sure that it can withstand a longer duration under the same conditions
@@treykings07 the deeper you go under water the more pressure it has, no video I've watched is under more then 1 foot of water 1.5 meters is more the 1 foot, the presser at 1.5 meters will push through the mesh on Ruin the phone. I say this on this phone watching videos because I do stuck and if it gets on my phone by accident I want to be able to wash it off. I wouldn't even try holding it under 1.5 meters for more then 30 minutes because before samasung releases their phones they test that and that's what they say 1.5 for 30 minutes will ruin the phone

@@timothyfulkerson6785 its because they obviously would take a hit if you use them with water or moisture in it, that is why you let it dry properly and the quality comes back to the same before you got water in it. I dip mine in 3m deep pool for hours and take videos and pictures, never had any problem
Yeah they go back to normal after they dry out! I dropped mine knee deep in a creek and my mic was wonky until it dried. As of now you wouldn't even know I dropped it in water.
I dropped mine in the toilet an hour ago. I immediately got it out, took the back case off, powered the phone off, removed the Sim card and blew the water out of the speaker and charging ports then submerged in rice for 10 minutes. When I turned it back on I had a notification not to charge due to moisture in the charge port. A few minutes later the notification was gone and I have no issues with the phone so far.
@@soundsofnature4347 sometimes, this warning stays on no matter what you do and you'll be forced to charge it wirelessly. Had to send mine back to Samsung because I got splashed with water droplets only. Disappointed.
You are not the only one buddy. U can only charge once the moisture or dust in the charging port is gone. It could even take a day sometime and ur left with no phone as the phone dies without charging. Oy option is buy a wifi charger.
Do you like the phone? I got mine from my wife because I busted my Velvet pretty bad. I took her phone and she got a new iPhone 13 pro max because she wanted an Apple watch She still likes her older LG phones way better but this Samsung wasn't her friend. She had too many apps and we tried everything but never could get the phone to stop displaying water in USB port and ads popped up when you were using anything else on the phone. If she made a call an ad would cover it 🤣 She wanted to break it but I said no, I need a phone so we will get you a new one and I will use the Samsung. After a complet wipe, it hasn't done it since so it had a bug. The port still says moisture detected at times but I think it's the type of charger
Thank God. Mine fell in thenwater for two seconds. It got submerged and the ports got filled with water. I tried to lightly vacuum out any water that would fall out. Waited ten minutes. Turned it on. And now here I am. Thank you samsung. I had a case...but the buttons and ports are always exposed.
Samsung a8 user here. I had a snorkeling session in cancun and noted my phone is still in the wallet of my swim pant. That's 1 hours of sea water and the phone survived. Of course I dropped the phone in the pool the day before and still OK.
The speakers might have water resistant mesh that keeps water from going through, as for the charger there might just not be any places for it to go further into the phone

No the technology has been around since the S8. It was totally waterproof. I swam with mine and recorded videos underwater. Charger and speakers work fine
You'll need to dry it out before attempting to charge it. If you try to charge it when it's still wet, the phone will warn you that it has detected moisture inside the charging port.

Some countries require manufacturers to include brick because as they say the product has to have all components to work and without charger its not a full working device because once it dies you cannot charge it :)

Keep in mind water resistance is most likely not the same once you have removed the back panel and put back together.
You are not meant to remove the back panel though
Depends on who opens it or not. The seals/sealant are/is easy to replace if you take your time

Under 1.5 meters the pressure at that depth can push water through the mesh that makes it water resistant

After drying the phone he did an intake test proving there is no water inside any components so it should all sound normal

You shouldn't take the sim card out, there is a waterproof seal on the sim card slot
