It will al depend on your climate. Pyracanthas are frost tolerant up to -5°C. Mine stays outside the whole year. The danger of indoors is always light. Even dormant trees need some light
My mom tried this bonsai but failed. She have it to me to see if it could be salvaged. All the leaves were dry and fell off. How can I tell if the tree is still alive? Does it still have a chance to grow?
Firethorns are Evergreen trees, which means that they don't drop their leaves in Autumn/Winter so if all the leaves fell off then it might be a bad sign. Mine usually loses a couple of leaves due to wind burn but that doesn't really affect the health of the tree. What you can do to test if it is alive is to scratch the trunk or branches slightly to see if there is still green under the bark. Keep the soil moist and give it lots of light. Hopefully there is some green in there! 🤞

I wire my firethorn. I understand it is brittle but it can still be wired. Just be carefull
