Over the past year or so, the "Animated Storytelling" genre of online video has been blowing up on UA-cam! But before there was JaidenAnimations & TheOdd1sOut, there was a man by the name of DOMICS. On today's episode of "A Brief History" we take a look at how a bored webcomic artist pioneered & ushered in a whole new era of UA-cam animation!

calling Swoozie an animator is an insult to animators. He just draws pictures. there is no animation in his videos.
Swoozie HAS done several full out stick animations in his videos, but you are right in that most of his story videos are less animation and more pictures. Although, an argument could be made that most popular story animators (as I like to call them) only do animatics rather than animations similar to low-budget anime "animation". James (Odd1sOut) and Jaiden even fall into this trap a lot of the time. But I'm not here to argue about that stuff. Most people on UA-cam don't know nor care about the difference between animatics, animations, and just a few fast moving frames every now and then. You'll just be preaching to the choir complaining about it in the comment section, sadly.
*And to clarify, I'm with you, I get it, and I agree, but unless someone with a wider reach educated everyone, it won't change public perception about real animation vs faux.* Also, you can't deny that advertising your videos as animations rather pictures/animatics will get more clicks on UA-cam. I won't argue about whether it's a right thing to do or not tho.

I really do agree. My friend sent me a domics video one night and I binged all of his videos and decided to learn how to draw cartoons better so I can later animate ^-^. I'm working on a final animation and it's all thanks to domics for introducing me to the animation community.

/Pa-nga-knee-bun/ or /Pa-nga-knee-ban/ (American colloquial written pronunciation)
In this word, the "ng" is pronounced as a single sound. The sound is the one used at the end of the words "watching", "liking", "thing", "sing", etc.
- a last name found in the Philippines, commonly found in Luzon. The last name is one of many yet outnumbered non-spanish last names. According to "Angkang Pilipino", it is of Tagalog origin and means "aware of danger".
Not to brag or anything tho...
That doesn't seem hard.
Even with that people (at least those who aren't Fil) would still pronounce it as *"PA-NA-NI-BAN"* because most of them can't pronounce "ng"...

Wow, I love that you used the art for Chvrches - Get Out for 2018. You've always had good choices for albums for each year but this is my favourite by far
Domics is one of the only artists on youtube who is not only Filipino, but is one of the few channels in the Philippines who has 100 million views in videos, and might hit 10 million subscribers. More popular contenders for Philippine entertainment might be Jamill vlogs, GLOCO, Jericho Arceo and CongTV.

I followed him shortly after he appeared because tumblr wasn't a thing for me. Domics is literally the sweetest and that's why I follow him to this day. He is...just precious and although other animators are doing the same thing and yes their art/animation does appear nicer and cooler...no one seems to have his purity. I adore him.
