This is a message to my fellow Filipinos and future tourists visiting our country. Even if your house has maids, please clean up after yourselves in everything you do. I have a maid in my household, but I clean up after myself to alleviate the extra work that my maid has to do when she has other things to do around the house.
In some families its considered to be rude to not the host be hospitable to the guest. It’s fine if its your house but if your staying at someone else’s, i think its better to ask if you want to put your dishes in the sink or to just leave it on the table.
Yeah same my mom all ways get mad if I rely on the maid too much. It's also uncomfortable to let the maid do everything her self. I do the simple chores like washing the dishes or cleaning the floor.
I find the Spanish influence in the Philippines fascinating as someone of Mexican origin so when Dom mentions a dish like longaniza and eggs I'm like "oh cool I had some a couple weeks ago"

Although the maids were in charge of dishwashing, it was still our job to take the plate to the sink. I guess each Filipino household is different.
Joey maids in the philippines are not slaves or anything, they choose be there as their job. And the people they work for treat them like family. Maids are kind of like family members offering to do work (but for money)
Joey you're gonna be lazier with them around (especially when you're rich). I should know cause we have two, but it's like an inverse scale: the richer you are, the more prone you are to treating maids as "maids" (most but not all ) poorer you are the more likely your relationship with yoir "maids" is going to be something like a family. So it's not really creepy I guess cuz they're like family but a "maid"????
I relate to this video on a spiritual level, i was born in Nepal but I lived most my life in Australia and when i went back to visit, the experience was almost identical to the one you described
I was born in the Philippines and was raised in New York. I speak fluent English but I can't speak Tagalog but I CAN understand it. I'm also a bit good in Korean since my dad is.
Yeah, I'm like that. Born in Philippines then moved to U.S. I speak fluent English. I can't really speak Tagalog (only a few phrases), but I understand it well.
I was born in the US, but I'm Indian. I used to be able to speak Konkani, my mother-tongue, but when I started pre-school, I ended up forgetting how to speak it, but I can understand it completely.

Tony Stark Maids; Maids do the job (plates, cleaning, dishwasher, sink, bathroom, EVERYTHING) You do stuff, you deeeeaaad, boi (not really lmao) But their the ones responsible for everything. And I know that since I was one of 'em even though I was a little kid.
Maids are treated more respected and instead of calling them yaya, people usually call them yung ate for a woman and kuya for a man then the names they want to be called like ate era if your a kid but as an adult you usually just call their names also they are called kasambahay because kasam means same or something like that and bahay is house meaning kasambahays live in the houses of their masters also I don’t think people call them yaya unless they’re rich or something
When dom was mistaken for Korean Once somebody thought I was Chinese And I’m dark brown with dark hair and Wide eyes It was rly interesting but I didn’t care And then once someone thought I was Russian Lol what? I’m Latina btw
There are many spanish words that are adopted in the tagalog vocabulary you just gotta find them and realize its Spanish. Some are spelled the same, sound the same but doesnt mean the same (porque and etc) but can also mean the same thing in both languages like pero, reyna, kutsara, tenedor, silya and many more. Well if you speak tagalog you'll realize you know many spanish words😅

The fact that I was also born in the Philippines and came to Jeddah too and the fact that I also have trouble speaking but no problem understanding and reply in English instead just makes this video all the more relatable

So it's not really creepy I guess cuz they're like family but a "maid"????

i swear every kid born in a foreign country but is full Filipino speaks english but understands tagalog
Ethon well except me
I was born in the Philippines and was raised in New York.
Ethon same
I was born in the US, but I'm Indian. I used to be able to speak Konkani, my mother-tongue, but when I started pre-school, I ended up forgetting how to speak it, but I can understand it completely.

whats up with the leave your plates on the table thing ? why is it a big thing ??
Tony Stark Maids; Maids do the job (plates, cleaning, dishwasher, sink, bathroom, EVERYTHING)
You do stuff, you deeeeaaad, boi (not really lmao)
But their the ones responsible for everything.
And I know that since I was one of 'em even though I was a little kid.
We usually call the 'maids' here 'yaya'
Though, I don't understand why my father doesn't allow us to call them yaya
Maids are treated more respected and instead of calling them yaya, people usually call them yung ate for a woman and kuya for a man then the names they want to be called like ate era if your a kid but as an adult you usually just call their names also they are called kasambahay because kasam means same or something like that and bahay is house meaning kasambahays live in the houses of their masters also I don’t think people call them yaya unless they’re rich or something

"English is concidered as their second language, along with spanish"
Am i dumb for not knowing atleast 3 words from spanish
All i know is hola
There are many spanish words that are adopted in the tagalog vocabulary you just gotta find them and realize its Spanish. Some are spelled the same, sound the same but doesnt mean the same (porque and etc) but can also mean the same thing in both languages like pero, reyna, kutsara, tenedor, silya and many more. Well if you speak tagalog you'll realize you know many spanish words😅
Oh cause back then there were spanish classes, even until my parents' school days 😂 but our language also has spanish influence in it.
Kutsara, Tinudor, Asul, Berde,
*uno, dos, tres, quatro intensifies*
And all i know is no si espanol 🤣🤣
