The reason I feel the Bollywood content is exaggerated because it provides us an escape from reality, and many people crave that feeling. Romance in movies and real life is very different but it makes us feel good, when we see it in movies.

Mostly they are muslim people from north India . They are from 11-20 age for boys mostly and 11-30 for girls other then that no one even know a single actor from pakistan .
In north you may get some people saying fawad or mahira if they could recall in rest of India no one knows any Pakistani actor. It seems big to you but for india media industry its very less .
Now India doesn't have a culture of sitting with parents and watching daily soaps with parents now . Everyone watches webseries even with parents.
India have a huge langauge specific shows running just for particular state ,which has more budget and audience compared to your Industry .
Gujarati, marathi, bohjpuri, punjabi, telugu, kannada, bengali etc. all have their own Industry .
You will never be able to make a mark on world stage because economics doesn't work out for your industry.
Your good films lifetime earnings are earned by bollywood just in week from middle east.
