    great sounds even better than I hoped , iv been to see one in the flesh today and I do like the build quality , size , and comfort sitting on both seats , I'm surprised as pillion seat is not an afterthought but roomy and well thought out !
    I also like the front steering /suspension set up it looks simpler and much more robust than what iv seen on video of MP3 500 set up with no lower links etc !
    I'm booking a test ride asap , if it is as good as I think I will be a converted car driver /one time biker to a new owner , thanks again for your input as I would never have considered Peugeot but for your great videos !
    you should be on a commission from manufacturer my friend ! lol
    all the best for now !

    Would be great if you could upload some more of your Tricity vlogs when you have a spare moment. There is so little on UA-cam from Tricity owners that this would be a really useful resource.
    keep up the good work, best regards,
    Phil

    Brilliant- a really informative and helpful video for someone considering a three wheeler. Its interesting that you went on to get a two wheel bike as well, and my conclusion is that if my bike is my main transport (so it's needed daily, in all sorts of weather, freezing winter days, etc), then for me personally, three wheels are the best option for safety and comfort. But if I also run a car as an option during freezing/bad weather, then maybe a normal two wheeled bike is my preferred choice.
    Thanks very much for taking the time and trouble to do this.

      Tony C - thanks Tony - I’ve put nearly 30,000 miles on the Metropolis now and they’re all the hard ones through winter. I ride a Suzuki Vstrom once the salt is off the road. A 2 wheeler is definitely cheaper to run, but as I don’t have a car anymore - having the option is important to me. Weather protection on the Metropolis is excellent and I’ve put winter tyres on the front, I think I’ve missed one day in the last 4 years. I don’t have to pay for parking, which balances out the extra cost of the Metropolis.

    Recently purchased the Peugeot Metropolis, I find the steering a bit heavy, it’s ok at slower speeds but you do have to bully it a bit, it seems harder to turn at higher speeds, I think it’s the gyroscopic effect of the 2 front wheels, but I’m getting used to it and loving it.

      The Metropolis responds very well to counter steering - if you are new to motorcycles you should watch some video’s on UA-cam

      Probably buying one next year, I think it's the best model of all, Bluetooth paring to your phone, I like all the modern stuff, the Yamaha is only 300cc and underpowered and yamaha and peugeot are the only dealers nere me.

    hi , great info video ! can I ask how the Metropolis is on the odd motorway or dual carriageway where I'd like to sit about 65 to 70 mph for 10 or 20 miles on occasion , and how is it with a pillion passenger ????
    thanks .
    I'm seriously thinking of getting one ! I had the idea of a Piaggio MP3 500 purely because of larger engine but you have made me lean to the 400 Metropolis as the engine seems to be almost as powerful ?

    • @threewheeldiaries9965
      @threewheeldiaries9965  8 років тому +2

      Hi Aon - the Metropolis will sit happily at 70 - 75 mph for extended periods and still leave extra for overtaking. I've been up and down the M4 a few times on it including in some pretty major downpours - one gets great protection from wind etc. I have not had a pillion rider on it so can't comment - but see no reason why it wouldn't work fine.

    i do a commute of about 22 miles each way and get stuck in traffic most days in my car so was looking to go down a 3 wheeled bike route. Most of the roads on my commute are about 70mph dual carriageway style roads, does this sit well at 70mph? i could see it did well with the filtering in the early part of the video. What is thr average MPG you are getting out of this? Thanks

    • @threewheeldiaries9965
      @threewheeldiaries9965  7 років тому +1

      Hi bf the Metropolis will do 70 mph no problem, I reckon I get between 65-68 mpg on the Metropolis depending on how I ride it. Would recommend you test ride both this and the MP3 - both have their strengths - though the new Metropolis now has ABS and Traction control and better brakes (large front wheel) so should be better around...

    • @bradf456
      @bradf456 7 років тому

      Thank you and yes the new model with the ABS is a massive selling point for me coming from a car with the safety and ABS features it will be nice to have that on the bike.

    The wheels seem small. You'd think that 15'' wheels would work best.
    Watching this over five years after it came on here. My ideal three-wheeler would be based on the Honda X-ADV 750. It would lean, have an anti-tilt mechanism and would be powered by the Africa Twin engine.

    why so expensive and such little power?

  • @philsheldon6148
    @philsheldon6148 9 років тому

    Hi, Three Wheel diaries. Why did you decide to sell your Tricity, was there something that you didn't like or was it just lacking power. I am currently looking at all the three wheeled options, really just for pootling around the countryside, not for commuting and I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

    • @threewheeldiaries9965
      @threewheeldiaries9965  9 років тому +1

      Phil Sheldon Hi Phil, bottom line was it's just lacking in power - my commute is now 24 miles each way - and the Peugeot is a much better fit for that journey.
