Commuting from Bath to Bristol with my Yamaha Tricity and my thoughts about it.
Have you still got this? Anymore videos planned ? 👍🏻
Hallo! Schreib bitte Drehmomente! Danke!
Great Video! I own a Tricity 300 and is very satisfied with it. If you think about switching up to get higher top speed you should concider the Tricity 155cc model. Its stil light and nimble but obviously more power. 😎
Hi all. After watching your brilliant no-nonsense videos, and having a couple of test rides, I eventually found my 200-mile 2020 Metropolis in July this year (2022). At 6'2" I've found a trike that fits, and believe me, it's done a few more miles now. In the past, I had 3 years on an MP3 500 as well as a Yourban 300 for 12 months, though I'd definitely say the Metropolis is a completely different beast, having the quietest, smoothest, and most responsive engine of the three. It's also really well finished and well balanced, as its nose sits forward and low, so it really sticks to the road ( I once had the independently-legged MP3 'waltz' over a lane at high speed on an open motorway bend). The only slight issue is missing the 2-helmet storage under the seat, but I'll take that!. As accessories, I've added a satnav, a windscreen deflector (highly recommended), and a pair of bar-end muffs. I'm really chuffed with my Metro, and good luck finding yours. Cheers.
Good one mate I'm looking into them I was just thinking touring do u think it will make a good touring bike let's say Cambridge to Scotland
Hi just come across your video I have a Piaggio MP3 300 for same reason as yourself I commute 22mls round trip and trikes are perfect. Mine is an older MP3 thinking of an upgrade have looked at the Peugeot and your review has definitely helped. Cheers 😊
I've been looking for a 3 wheeler on the same reasons you are mentioning. For commuting it's perfect, and you can go for a longer drive with it. It has Good space for things. The biggest factor for me is that you can use it in winter as well. Your videos kind of made me go for this one.
como quitar fallo en el cuadro de la metropolis 400rs de reda trasera baja de presion gracias
So why did you not get the Tricity 300? ..... just seen this video is years old .... sorry.
Hi, I believe what you have done in regards of travelling to n from work is great. I've watched a few of your video's and enjoyed them all, and looking forward to watching more. I have a a1 bike licence and I've just bought the piaggio mp3 400cc, and like you it's the extra freedom and stability on the road. Take no notice of negative people they are only good weather riders. I say don't knock it until you've tried. Well done and stay safe. Ade
I'm buying this bike next yr. 2023 have like you reviewed others and the only other that I considered was the mp3 400. Have ridden a Kawasaki GTR 1000 which was dam comfortable the seat was super wide for long journeys meant comfort. I also owned A Rally bike and a GT 350 Belt driven the GTR 1000 was Drive shaft driven which was super smooth the other small bikes were in my opinion great but the seats were after long journeys bum grinding & I believe the Metropolis ah a wonderful shaped seat like my old GTR 1000 because I plan to ride 260 miles from Norfolk to Lancashire lake district etc etc Blackpool. Apparently the Metropolis is quite a stable bike in strong winds because of the front two wheels & I like how you can adjust the front shield up and down to suit on the GTR 1000 I had a good shield which did the job with wind and rain. Not only that the Metropolis looks great in my opinion and has good storage with additions of adding a top box. perfect for me and a pillion.... £5000 for me is perfect for good second hand CASH because I hate finance it's my last ever purchase in life 56yrs old now lol full bike licence so lucky there...
NOT THAT YOU CARE SINCE YOU ALREADY TOLD ME YOU SOLD IT AND ITS NOT YOUR ¨¨¨¨¨¨PROBLEM ANY MORE¨¨¨¨¨, but if you take all the oil out, done the right way, you will need 2,2 liters to refeel it. FOR THE PEOPLE THAT COME AND SEE THE VIDEO.
Merci pour votre tuto. La référence de votre equilibreuse et de son axe , merci pour votre réponse.
I won't say it was safer. i ride uban mp3 300......i once fell off my 2 wheeled motorbike on a mini roundabout it was ice and snow on that in early 1991.....but you can come off a 3 wheeler. just the same.
Not sure what you’re trying to imply - it’s not safer in regards to the being hit by someone else etc. But 3 contact points vs 2 is definitely safer, just as 4 vs 3 is too. When I transitioned to the Peugeot 400 metropolis and put winter tyres on it I rode in conditions that would have been unthinkable on a 2 wheel machine. As it is I no longer own a 3 wheeler as I no longer commute into Bristol. My only bike now is a VStrom 650, which I ride for pleasure.
Merci pour cette vidéo.
Does anyone know if the exhaust connections of the Metropolis 2017 are the same as the latest 2021 model? Thanks.
Nice to find someone working on this scooter I'm getting one of my son sad to say needs lots doing to it hand break not holding the button that open seats and bk box don't like click Ur open them up and odd time the thing that holds bike up not hold it so has to go on stand so anyone reading this mite no why all this is going on and can advise.also someone tryed to stealing it smashed the ignition switch of it then got left with flat battery for six months
💯 right 👌🏻👍🏻
Hi My friend as been watching your Video and liked that much he as gone and purchased a 2019 plate. He has got a problem trying to insure it he as only got a car licence he as done CBT & Hazard test passed both. The research he done said he can drive it on a car license only. Can you help if you know any insurance companies. thank you
Recently purchased the Peugeot Metropolis, I find the steering a bit heavy, it’s ok at slower speeds but you do have to bully it a bit, it seems harder to turn at higher speeds, I think it’s the gyroscopic effect of the 2 front wheels, but I’m getting used to it and loving it.
The Metropolis responds very well to counter steering - if you are new to motorcycles you should watch some video’s on UA-cam
@@beanobsessedroasters9073 not exactly new, but it’s been a bloody long time away from them .
Probably buying one next year, I think it's the best model of all, Bluetooth paring to your phone, I like all the modern stuff, the Yamaha is only 300cc and underpowered and yamaha and peugeot are the only dealers nere me.
Nice work. Thanks.
Hi mate - did you ever hear any issues with the parking brake switch being faulty on these?? Mine has been playing up recently
Why would you put any inner DB KILLER fffkkk that, even the back one has to come off mate. Your killing the exhaust with all that junk. Why buy a pipe and put all that in, just leave the original one on the bike. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I am looking at this or the Tricity 300 or MP3 500 have you ridden them all what's your verdict?
Hi can I ask which is better out of this and the MP3 500 . Thanks
Would this fit a 13 or 14 inch laptop ?
Hey mate been wondering the same Here are the dimensions “Dimensions: 15.3″ W x 9.8″ H x 7″” I would assume it fits up to a 15 inch laptop but that would be a tight fit. Looks like it’d fit my 13 inch easy
Hello, the tire sensor is in inside the rim or is it in the valve ??? Ussualy air tire sensors are the valve itself. How is this in the Metropolis.????
It’s in the valve
I can see you live by the ocean, I can hear the Seagulls, the rust on the bike is a lot. Spray some WD40 down there mate. 👌👌👌👌👌
Errr, I sprayed all sorts down there - FS365 and ACF 50 mate - WD40 wouldn’t do much in an English winter. That’s what you get after 3 winters in England - that’s why people have winter bikes - anyway - the Metropolis is gone so not my problem anymore.
WD40 removes greases...
Great vid , i watched & listened the whole way through. Im a bit like you , similar age & took bit if gamble with tricity 125 but wanted more safety than regular 2-wheel, I know exactly what you mean about it being just right other than missing a bit of power at certain speed for some bits of road. + You're so right about it being enjoyable, I never thought it would be so much fun :)
I’ve enjoyed your videos, not sure if you still ride? But thanks for providing lots of useful information.
As a non biker who wants one of these, it’s nice to see it from the riders point of view. I think these tricitys are brilliant. Good vid, thanks
Thank you man!
Hi I enjoyed your vlog. Can you tell me how it goes on steep hills and perhaps what is your weight? Thanks
Mark Jones - Hi Mark - sorry haven’t owned a Tricity since 2015 and in any case - it’s a 125 - so it’s going to be slow uphill - they all are. I’d look at the new 300..
@@threewheeldiaries9965 Thanks
I have done a quarter of a million miles on conventional bikes and now own a Can-Am Spyder F3-S as my main tourer in Europe, although I still have a couple of big bikes there. In northern Thailand, I would like to buy a Tricity 300, but despite them being manufactured here, they are not sold here. Neither is the Tricity 155. I think the 125 is too heavy for the engine capacity, so I'm opting for a Yamaha Aerox 155 for my city bike. Good review. I wish you'd let us see it.
The tyres are cheap. Good to see it's been reliable. I can certainly see the attraction of three-wheelers. In fact, I have a Can-Am F3-S, but in 250,000 miles of two-wheel riding, I have never lost the front wheel and still ride conventional motorcycles. I can see why you want your full bike licence. I divide my time between southwest Portugal and northern Thailand. The Can-Am is in Portugal, along with two bikes. I tour on the F3-S. I am about to buy a Yamaha Aerox 155 for use in Chiang Rai. I don't know how you can watch Cager on Two Wheels.
The wheels seem small. You'd think that 15'' wheels would work best. Watching this over five years after it came on here. My ideal three-wheeler would be based on the Honda X-ADV 750. It would lean, have an anti-tilt mechanism and would be powered by the Africa Twin engine.
Yamaha have already effectively built that in the Niken, bar the ground clearance
i HAD A 2018 HONDA NC 750 DCT ONLY ONE PROBLEM CHANGE THE TYRES AS MADE BY DUNLOP BUT HONDA'S MIXTURE BLOODY DANGLES IN THE WET I COMPLAINED TO HONDA UK AS DEALER SAID ON YOUR BIKE. HONDA UK NEXT DAT PHONED BACK GO TO ANY HONDA DEALERS & CHOOSE WHAT MAKE OF TYRES YOU WANT FREE THESE BIKES SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SOLD WITH CRAP TYRES
Now thats how you do a test ride ,i wanted to say thats a brilliant video, cheers for that,Cannot believe how you went through the traffic between all those cars, thanks again
i know that this video is 5 years old but i just want to say thank you for uploading this, i have just purchased a Tricity 125 and pick it up this Saturday (4/7/20) i have been looking all over youtube for just a lovely long informative video about the bike and i can say in my opinion this is thew best video i have seen by far !!!! THANK YOU :D
How are you finding the bike. I got my eye on the 300. 8 grand for a bike is a stinger coming from somebody who has only driven cars
@@Abc-li1ij I recon the 300 is just too wide.
Do you still have the Metropolis TWD?
no and he dont realy gives a rats ass abut anything, very nasty guy
Partly thanks to you, I'm picking up a 2018 RS on 15/06/2020
Have you still got a Metropolis, Three Wheel? I've just ordered a 2018 RS. Cheers!
Hi, how old was your Metropolis while filming this video?
As the previous ones, I am considering buying a tricity 125. My daily commuting is very similar to yours in distance, so I found very useful your video. As your video is from 2015, are you thinking the same still? or have you changed your opinion about the tricity? Thanks in advance from Madrid by an UK lover :)
Sorry just to be sure, 14Nm right?
Well the workshop manual states between 11.7 and 15.7nm pretty sure the handbook said 14nm. Take your pick - just don’t over tighten. peugeot-metropolis.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Metropolis400_Workshop-manual.pdf
1) This is a very good submission for your first Vlog! Question: Which camera did you chose? 2) Rationale for choosing the Tricity is well thought out and on point! I am currently thinking of switching from the 400cc Xmax to the Tricity 300 for enhanced stability. I'm an older biker. Desire the increased stability, but concerned about giving up the power. I can't give up riding. Love it far too much, but I have realized it's time to accept my limitations. 3) Another concern I have about the Tricity is maintaining costs. Does the Akerman front set up require extra costs to maintain it yearly? 4) Considering your comments about the bike and it's power, I think you might be happier with the 155 Tricity, or the 300 version. You sound very pleased with all other aspects of your ride. Thank you for sharing your insights. They are helping me to think this trade thru carefully. Stay safe! Oh, one more thing......you are now a Biker. I've felt the same issue about not being acknowledged on the road by other bikers, because I'm on a scooter. But enough give the wave to help me feel welcome. Not a big deal, but it is nice to be acknowledged. I've ridden for years on everything from a Gold Wing to my current scooter. I can see the difference in biker responses since switching to a scooter. What matters most is the utility of your bike, and your satisfaction with it. If you find you do need a hand someday, they will stop for you. You are a Biker, and most of us are good natured enough to help out.
5) too many fucking words
So a puncture on the road is a full scale rescue-recovery matter and a tyre change similarly requires a large mechanical dismantling of exhause, suspension, axle etc Hmmmm thats put me off one of these somewhat 🤔
Ian K don’t be an utter Ar..h.. the wheel was completely buckled and rubbing against the brake calliper. I hit a cobble stone - on my Vstrom I would have been off, simple as. The removal of exhaust to change the rear wheel of a scooter is fairly standard and actually quite simple on the Metropolis compared to the MP3.
Looking at this video it seems what I said would be right. I made no reference to any stone I was making an observation. Try reading a comment before you go off like a pathetic child next time.
Ian K no you look at the video properly - it wasn’t a simple puncture on the road - the wheel was toast/trashed - buckled bent - un rideable - hence the pick up doh!! Frankly couldn’t give a dam what you buy. Taking the exhaust off is a 5min job - it’s a p clamp and 3 bolts. The point is that I hit a large cobble stone that was enough to crack/buckle the wheel and the trike didn’t even swerve, it held its line. Remarkable really. You can trash talk troll all you like. The Peugeot has down nearly 33,000 hard (winter) miles and kept me safe - job done. I’m not a fan boy that’s why I ride other bikes - Infact I’m offloading the Met as we speak. It’s just tiresome getting snippy remarks from know it alls wholes only contributions are effective trolling. This channel will be shutting in the next few weeks anyway. On a constructive note the new Yamaha Tricity 300 looks very interesting- but still doesn’t give you a true step through design. The was one of the main selling points of the Peugeot for me.
Hi the MP3 LT is a lot better in my opinion 😎
Martin Swaine which you are entitled too.
@@beanobsessedroasters9073 hi Philip I had a great time when I had a test drive on the Peugeot but I got the MP3 LT because of one thing you mentioned it in your video taking corners and roundabout's mp3lt was a lot better IE safer is better 😋
what are the size of the oil filter tool ? Bought one on ebay 68/14. It was to big. bummer :(
Enjoyed your vid ..I have watched it a few times now ...what you riding now in 2019...cheers!!
dad6307 Still have the Metropolis - it’s go nearly 30,000 on the clock now. But I also ride a Suzuki Vstrom 650
