Almost bought L2502, but they were out of stock and it would be a month before I get one. For just a bit more I got myself a L3302 that was sitting there all pretty and oh my... what an awesome machine. I've owned three Kubota tractors over the years and they've been performing consistently well. Got myself an L series this time around, because, as you said, they're just very basic work horses that have things overbuilt specifically to handle tough tasks, without gimmicky gadgets.
You can't go wrong with an L. We've had ours for over 4 years now and I use it weekly for either moving logs, gardening, light grading or brush cutting. It was a good investment. Enjoy that 3302!

Great tutorial Matthew. You really don't need a big tractor in most cases. My old Farmall does everything I need a tractor to do and it's I think 23 horse power. Y'all have a great weekend!

I'm so jealous of that little excavator! I would love to have one. But it would be purely a luxury item for digging holes in the yard! I have a 25 hp tractor as well and I think my order is; bucket, box blade, forks, bush hog and then grapple. Would like to add a snow pusher for when pickup/plow is down and maybe a posthole digger. But if I ever win the lottery (that I don't really play, lol!) I've always told my wife that I would buy all kinds of heavy equipment. Of course, she asks why, and I just tell her...to dig holes, duh! It's like having real life Tonkas, that's all I can really associate it with.
Haha I love digging holes too! I'm using the mini today to burn a big brush pile where I cleared a small lot for a new building. I love my little Kubota s
Agree on all of the implements that you list and have all but the pallet forks and excavator. Have been hashing around the idea of buying a mini excavator. We have a Hudson Sawyer sawmill that I haven’t set up yet (waiting to get set up to pour a concrete pad for it) but am going to need the pallet forks when we get it up and going!
I use the pallet forks more than anything. Very helpful with a mill.
Thank you for doing this Mathew. You brought up some really great points. Both you and I are old school in our ways.
I also thought the 25 hp might be a bit lacking. Not so. It has exceeded my expectations quite a bit.
The manual transmission is a better fit for me than the hydrostatic. More power to the pto. More power to the ground. Possibly even more economical to run as it is not having to force hydraulic oil through those tiny little orifices.
I am like you. I don’t like the whine either.

Thanks Gary. I enjoyed doing that video even if it wasn't perfect lol. Some people expect perfect but I'm not that guy. I couldn't be more pleased with the L2501. I almost bought a JD. I'm sure I would have liked it as well. It really came down to how I was treated by the different dealers. One dealer was very professional and one wasn't. I used the same dealer when we bought the mini excavator. Excellent customer service. Excellent machines. There should be more old school folks out there like us Gary!
Hey Matt! Jim here from Chilo, OH. ( on the river ), I'm riding a 1989 B1750, if you're not afraid to rev the hpwr, it will perform! My two favarid upgrads are my carry all, you can add as much wait as you need, and what you might consider is a simple turn knob for steering wheel, a lot less movement fo the arms and hands, I all so have them on my two JD riding lawn mowers.GOOD TIMES MAN!

I am a new owner of an L2502. Came from a 60hp gear drive (with power shuttle) and I am THRILLED with the hydro. That was one of the requirements for my tractor "upgrade" and I have been completely satisfied and doubt I'd ever willingly go back to a gear drive. For me, giving up the little bit of extra PTO power was 100% worth the added convenience when using my grapple and forks. I was a little concerned going from 60 -> 25 hp but this little tractor has proven very capable.
They are handy little tractors for sure. You'll be more than satisfied with your new tractor.

I had a neighbor with a JD he had a hydrostatic transmission had traded in for a manual. He’s old school like us. If I ever buy one it will definitely be a manual transmission. Great video definitely need the heavy bottom end to get the job done ! I think you need a beard balm that smells like two stroke 😄
It's hard to beat a good manual transmission. Beard Balm with 2 stroke now that sounds manly!
Very impressive if that compact tractor is pulling a 5' bush hog. I drove it, so I can confirm it is a nice one.

Great vid Matt, l am looking at small tractors now myself.I was curious if 25 hp would get it done . I have a good size market garden a few animals and put up firewood for sale . Have a 75 hp farm tractor now but most of the time it’s over kill and just to big . I like that 2501 !
Thank you Pete. The L2501 really is a versatile tractor. It has not let me down for any task. It even handles a 5 foot tiller in our clay soil. There's times I wish I had just a little more tractor but in reality this has handled my needs well.
Great video! I needed a good chuckle. Congrats on smelling like a man. I'll send you a check and try it out. I like your implement list but I would add a grader blade (since I'm terrible at using a box blade) and an auger. I especially like your #1 attachment. Unfortunately, Mrs. Ozarks won't let me buy one before she has a place to live...
Haha. Tell her there's so many things you could do for her if you had one! I'd like to get a grader/scrape blade. They are great for crowning new driveway builds and all sorts of things. I'll get up with you this week and send you some balm to try.
Great video. How often do you adjust the slip-clutch on the RCR1860 cutter? I am leaning towards the same cutter but with s shearbolt. Thanks
At the beginning of each mowing season I check it for proper adjustment. Landpride has a great short video on how to do it. It's easy. The main thing is to keep it under a shed if possible to avoid it rusting up. I grew up on shear bolts. I'll never go back after having the slip clutch.

Matthew, I am fixin to buy a new L2502 & I like both the R1 tires and the largest R14 tire. I'm not sure which to ask for. I will be using mine alot like you use yours. Which do you recommend? Thanks, Steffon
R1 if you will be using it like I do for multipurpose. R1 will handle all of your tasks from gardening to moving logs. Industrial type tires are what I used to run on backhoes and industrial type tractors. They're great for that type of work but not so great for gardening or mud. You'll love the L2502.
Draw bar is standard peace equipment every tractor comes with one do not know about kabota Foreign crap tractors might be extra case-ih John deere, Ford-newholland, versatile, big bud are not extra

Good tractor talk, but you crack me up with your beard balm. I have only shaved a couple dozen times in 25 years. Never once put anything in it other than shampoo and conditioner. No clue what ya mean by holding your beard in place. Mine has sat right there under my chin for over half my life.
