All great recommendations. I’ve had my compact tractor for 11 years and the only thing I’d add to your “must have” list is weighted rear tires with RimGuard or Beet Juice. Nicely done!
If you're clearing trees, I'd put a Saw Haul high on the list. It's a fairly inexpensive US-made bolt-on kit, and it holds a chainsaw securely and out of the way. I've seen people make their own by heating and flattening PVC drain pipe to fit the saw bar, then fabricating something to mount that, but for my money the Saw Haul is a well-designed and fairly inexpensive product.
I just received my 511 brush guard for my B2401DT. Well packaged. Nice customer experience. I would recommend them. Side guards didn’t fit our series but hopefully they will do something because I broke one of those plastic engine side covers
I bought a Broken Anvil Metalworks grill guard. I liked it because it was less expensive than some and only requires you to drill 2 holes. It fits really nicely and was easy to install.
Making the grill guard vs buying is all about the value of your time. I bet if you have to go buy the screen, remove the existing guard, cut the screen, weld the screen, paint the screen and reinstall the guard you are out some time. Nice video! I also have the B2601. Work lights front and back useful but never weld or drill your ROPS.
Anything that starts with Bach is a good start! I don't know if the B2601 has an exposed transmission fan but the BX23s does. An under belly fan guard is essential to prevent very expensive damage to this fan. Great video! All great suggestions. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
it been in my family from Day 1. My Dad bought it new and passed it on to me. I am going to make a video about it at some point. It just an amazing truck. Way ahead of its time.
As far as a grill guard, I bought a piece of stainless with 3/8" holes all over it. I'm still trying to find someone with a cnc machine to put the letters Kubota on it. or maybe just a big K on it. I think I have just about everything else you've mentioned. Good job!
I'm looking at a 2601 this spring. I'll probably just do a cheap mesh grill. That way if it gets poked with a branch and dented, no biggie. I think what I may do is painted black. Everything the same colour just ends up looking like a run on sentence if you know what I mean. The eyes need some contrast.
Regarding the grill guard, simply welding some moderately thick expanded metal to the front of the factory brush guard is probably THE cheap/easy/strong solution. Since my generous son recently bought me a welder, I made a project out of fabricating some fancier bolt-in sections made from 1/8" thick expanded metal and angle steel, and drilled/tapped the factory brush guard to receive it. However, I spent more than enough time and effort to justify buying one of those aftermarket laser-cut guards or having a local welder make what I ended up making myself. Unless you're looking for a welding project, spending ~$500 on a grill guard will pay for itself the first time it saves your radiator.
GP, I am a big fan and long time subscriber of your channel. You were actually my inspiration for starting a channel. I have learned so much from you. You do great work! Cheers!
My Kioti came with a factory bucket level indicator... Kioti is better. Kioti was started by the brother who wanted to raise the bar with quality.. The Mesh is better protection. Go with the Mesh. Paint it well.
Amazes me how many people don’t understand the Kubota level indicator. It is NOT the sticker. That surface on top of the bucket is on the same plane as the bottom of the bucket. So if that surface is parallel to the ground, your bucket is level. It isn’t perfect, but it is better than a sticker.
Hey Dave new sub here from Illinois! Just found your channel searching Kubota 2601. I see some familiar commenters so I must be in the right place!🤣 first of all I’ve been kind of looking at the 2601 so with your experience with it do you think it’s too big for a belly mower or should I stick with the BX series? I just feel like the 2601 is more capable for working with firewood and I like the higher ground clearance. All great tips for someone considering their first tractor 👍🏻👍🏻 TOA
Thanks for the Sub. My opinion on belly movers is they are a hassle, over priced and don't cut like a Zero Turn will. I am like a perfect lawn so keep that in mind here. If you can live with a less that perfect cut, and don't mind the time and hassle to change it out when you need ground clearance a belly mower might get the job done for you. Personally I think just spend a little more and get a zero turn and skip the belly mower. The BX is a awesome tractor. If you don't need the added loader capacity or increased ground clearance the B2601 gets you over the BX, I would get the BX. Its actually more comfortable and a nicer tractor. I have not tested the belly mowers on each of these so can't say which would cut better.
@@timbertimeoutdoors9836 Thanks for the info Timber Time! Well I probably will use it 80%of the time just for mowing! The other 20 will be used for moving firewood rounds plowing snow etc.. I already know which one would suit my needs better but they always say buy bigger than you think you need🤣🤣 I just liked the added lift capacity and extra ground clearance the 2601 has but it will be cumbersome as a mower! Hey thanks for the info and keep up the vids👍🏻👍🏻
For an even cleaner look, you can use plastic cable/wire clamp that will hold wire and attaches with a screw or bolt. Or, in the automotive field, often what's used is a conduit/wire/wire-loom routing clamp/clip and is simply pushed into a hole, as one side is built like a plastic rivet/pin/tree. Don't get me wrong-- zip ties are 100% legit option, they just _look_ ghetto.
I am looking at getting the 2601 myself to manage 10 acres (mostly wooded) and would be interested in a grapple myself. Would you mind sharing roughly what you got the tractor for with the loader? I live in PA and assume pricing varies. Great content and looking forward to more uploads!

I agree 100% and i did that. I should have mentioned it. Must have. Should be standard for safety reasons.
First upgrade i did was change out all the incandescent bulbs for LED bulbs quick and easy! So much brighter defiantly worth it

Blows my mind why manufacturers don’t provide a proper lighting system since led’s are pretty affordable these days
They switching to LED headlights, but they're still in a useless location behind the loader.

I went with the 511 grill guard and added LED lightbulbs

I will check them out
They make protection for most tractors -- but not John Deere. 😂

Good to know. Thank you
‘91 Beat Navy! Love the hat!
I’m looking to buy the B2601 and I appreciate your review.
Nice 2nd Gen Runner back there

@@timbertimeoutdoors9836 that’s awesome. Drove a 3rd Gen for years and now have a 5th Gen. Great trucks! Would definitely check out a video on yours
Great accessory list, My wife said you should have put this video out before Christmas.
I'll have to look into the grill guards, I do have to get some led lights, great information, thanks.

Perfect list to leave laying around before gift giving occasions, if wife and kids always complain that your
" so hard to shop for".
I should have used that title. Top 7 Dad gifts. Hahaha!
all sounds great, been waiting 3 months for my B 2601
Such a fun and useful tractor. Might Mouse. Very strong loader.
great music to start the video! :)
Thank you!

I wish someone made guards for all the filters.
What is the bolt on platform you used for forward facing tops lights?
Am curious about this as well. Nice setup.
Great video - just purchased a L3302. Can you point me in the direction of the light mount you have on your ROPS. That is a fantastic setup. Thanks.
Good mods and all very helpful Dave!

I made a bucket level indicator for my BX, depends on your resources. BTW, level changes based on loader height.
You will never regret buying a grapple
Yes, grapples are a must for a tractor
Great video! Just curious, did you have a right side Bell’s palsy?
I am looking for a grill guard too. I am leaning towards a bolt on unit. They are a little more better looking.
Agree. its on my wish list too

Did you make your forward light mounts or did you buy it? I like it❤
When I'm having a hard time deciding what to do or get I've found a 6 pack of Busch light helps get er done.....
Do you have a video on your lighting system? If not, where did you get the bracket?

Avez vous le lien amazone pour les accessoires merci
Number eight: Replace all the incndescent light bulbs with LED bulbs. They make a world of difference
Totally agree. Those should be stock. Not sure why Kubota is behind on their lights

I think I paid around $20k for it.
I just picked one up for 21,000. Added a 60 inch mid mount deck for 3500.00
The song intro lol
We have an M4 071 Delux and it has the same "tool box" mounted just aft of the left-hand front wheel. Yuk!
What grapple did you get? Thanks
Artillian
Side step won’t work if you have a mower deck. When you raise the deck it hits the side step.
Do you have a part number for the bucket level rod kit?
There is a video in the description what shows you all the parts you need. no kit is available.
Do you know what L series loader that level indicator is for or the part numbers for it
It comes standard on the lx2610-3310 the loader is a LA535
I don't but a call to a dealer should get that done quick
3rd function switch
Bucket level indicator needs to be adjusted with each accessory
Yes, that is true. It does work the best when Grapple is on
You are gonna make a grill guard make a aluminum so I won't rust
B2401 .
