Thank you guys for the race, one of the best souls streams out there. Fauna had more game sense, but Gura's instincts were next level, made you both neck and neck. Secondhand neurons firing off when she thought to use plunging attacks on the Taurus Demon, I was proud of shork in that moment. Wish souls games didn't have the reputation they had because seeing them both find methods to progress naturally was peak content
Y’know its not about who won…but about the skeletons and bosses we met along the way

Picking a race with a 2-hour limit certainly is an interesting choice for a first Dark Souls impression. A fun experience, tho. Hopefully we'll see more of this (or other entries of the series) in the future.
Gura briefly mentioned, how Elden Ring was just too big and too daunting. In this regard, ER really isn't a good example of a Soulsborne game. The previous games really are way more of an enclosed, kinda lightweight experience (not sure, how to put it). I heard a few people compare them to old arcade games, which I have to agree with...once you got used to them, they are perfect to pick up once in a while, mess around for a few hours and crush some big monsters.
I would consider myself rather experienced with these games. But I'm still struggling to tackle/ actually finish Elden Ring (and DS2 for that matter), because they seem like such a big commitment. Meanwhile whenever I don't know, what to do, I'll happily start my millionth run of Sekiro. Heck, watching this even made me consider booting up DS1 once more to see how far I get in 2 hours.

If anyone wants to play this alongside Fauna's VOD, put this VOD at 4:03 and Fauna's at 6:45, and hit play on both. For syncing at any other time, Gura's VOD is 2min 37sec behind Fauna's. It's not exact, but considering latency it's close enough!
They also have a timer on both screens. you can just sync them up after they mute each other. all other times you just need to mute one of the vods since both are talking to each other.

It was more of a tie than you think. Gura made it as far as a Balder Knight before dying, and Fauna made it to a Balder Knight right at the end. All of which would have been in roughly the same area.
The race of Dark Soul noob was pretty even ! Was fun to see Gura match Fauna's skill with her cheese tactics lmao

Respects for both Fauna and Goomba for reaching as far as they have in such a time as it was fun and impressive they gotten that far in the game.
One thing to add is the game is fun for those seeking a challenge but not for the light of heart.
For new players of the game, just don't expect it to be a rage free game as this game does offer a plenty large sum of "rage moments" but gives at times that satisfying feeling when you succeeded further through the boss and stage battles just expect a lot of re-spawning though, as this game will do that often for fresh souls to the game.

I think you have good instincts. Dark Souls is one of those games where you're meant to share information with the community and look it up, so maybe another collab but more cooperative would also be good.

And in other scenarios, an increase in skill and practice will make a different outcome. It's mis-attributed to Albert Einstein, who as a scientist would have detested it.
Save file sharing is a gray area. In any case, playing offline would probably be tolerable by the developers.

I think doing this with all of the Souls games would be really fun and intertwining to watch.
