Pikmin 4 is the latest instalment within the Pikmin Series and some people aren't happy with the game. So I have jumped back onto Metacritic to find 8 bad funny reviews of the game to share with all of you!

While he was reading about the game devs being lazy, I just happened to be playing the game and scrolling through the massive piklopedia.
A good amount of the Pilopedia is taken from the entries in pikmin 2, I'm pretty sure.

I believe that's only for Olimar's and Louie's entries, I've never seen repeats for the new characters

My only gripes with the game is that there’s no harder difficulty mode, surface enemies don’t respawn, and the auto lock (they could have just added something to turn it off)
A hard mode that makes enemy harder can respawn and doesn't have auto lock on

Some of them probably by Fifa every year and think its getting better and better with each installment.
They said it was indie quality. And indie quality tends to be better then aaa quality nowadays. Not sure why it being indie quality was a bad thing
Pikmin 4 is the most polished looking game I've ever seen. It ain't no AAA, Nintendo pulled out the AAAA on this one

Some people can never be satisfied. Though I definitely do agree that the co-op mode isn’t very good unless you have a 5-year old younger sibling who wants to play with you. Also, the groovy long legs exists and yet people have the audacity to say that there are no good bosses in the game lol
Co-op mode is good for a single player, you can turn the drone into an attack drone so that makes the horrible Co-op not as bad.

3:30 do people actually think 30 fps is so low you need to tell people before they buy the game? I bet most people didn’t know it ran at 30 until someone told them
Nintendo needs to put an option of turning on and off the auto lock, that's my only issue about the game, everything else ranges from good to perfect.
A new game plus would be nice too since you have soo many upgrades and no enemys respawn
This is the only feature removal I agree with. Coupled with joycon drift, autolock can be horrendous and annoying.

Giving a game a 0/10 rating because it has no 60 fps... gamers, I swear. I get nauseous from 60 fps, always surprised people care so much about that. Almost all these "reviews" are laughable at best. I do agree the game feels a bit easy and handholdy, but you know what I did? Tried more games of varying genres to challenge myself. Something these dudes could benefit from, methinks. Pikmin 4 is charming as heck and in my opinion the most fun installment in the series yet! Finally getting through the Sage Leaf's trails after failing over and over again is such a rush of accomplishment!
I love 30fps. I just like that cinematic feel. It feels right.
Never listen to a critic. Listen to someone who has sunk hours into the game. They objectively know more than the internet critic who’s trying to generate rage clicks
I feel like the folks who complained about the low difficulty did not even bother to go beyond the first area or make a night expedition
Huh? I’m not sure about you but not even the water wraith cave had me lose more than a single pikmin. I love these games but I feel like Pikmin 4 was TOO different and that hurt it in the worse way. The Dandori challenges and dandori battles took away the charm of the bingo battles and challenge mode, with them being shoe horned in.
Also, the first 2 areas were my favorite, it became a slog during and after the third area. I love tower defense games as well, but the night mode just felt like a chore after the first 6. It was not hard, just a slog.

the 2nd review is fair honestly, just with a weird rating for some reason but it's 100% reasonable

Some of the reviews just being "switch bad" is really funny to me.
I think the biggest dandori failure here is that all of these critics didn't know enough about pikmin to know there was a free demo.
These guys will never learn the true art of dandori.
In my opinion pikmin 4 is like a 7.5 or 8 out of 10 my biggest issues were the difficulty needing to be ramped up like it was towards the end of the game and in night expeditions because those were the truly memorable moments for me because of it being challenging
Sure they forgot the original fans, it's not like they brought back almost every enemy from pikmin 1/2 and caked it in nostalgia and references /s
It is easier but 2 was too hard before. Electric being an instant loss was brutal, plus seeing them stunned on the floor is funny.
The story has a few unexplained parts but overall I like it better than 3. I wish it fit together with 1 and 2 more rather than being a reboot, but it is still good to me.
I mean it seems to be after the bad ending of 1, and then 2 happens after, and then 3, so it does fit quite well

Hard doesn't always mean fun. Nor does easy though.
Pikmin 4 easily is my game of the year. Hands down. Even beat TOTK somehow.for me, and I love Zelda way more than Pikmin.
Thank you, FINALLY a person who understands the difficulty debate and how stupid it is. Pikmin 4 was in the middle for me when I played it, not terribly hard in most aspects, and I liked that. It lets you appreciate the beauty of the environments and adds a kind of tranquility to things. However, one of the most stressful parts are the Dandori challenges, night levels, and The White Sage trials. But even still, I 100%ed the agme with little issues.
Pikmin 4 was my favorite switch after just the second trailer.
@@shlingusdingus4174 I thought it was easy, but got a bit harder at the end. It was an incredible experience though. I'm still debating on how good the final boss is. I still think the Titan Dweevil is my favorite, but I think it does beat the Plasm Wraith.
I don't know if it's my GotY, but it's definitely in contention.
Definitely a relatively easy game, though there are some optional challenges where it's a bit trickier - Captain Olimar's story, the Trial of the Leaf Sage stuff, and a couple of the post-credits night missions. But while difficulty options would have been nice, not having them didn't particularly impact my enjoyment of the game.
Not that this reply matters 5 months later, but being hard doesn't make a game fun, but being too easy does make it unfun. The game is practically a cutscene with how hard it is to fail. Enemies pose 0 threat, and are practically decorations. When I come back to replay a game, I want to feel like I have improved or have some aspect that matters, but Pikmin 4 just leaves little for that. I cant replay for minimum Pikmin losses when I already only lose like 10 in my first run anyways.

@@mr.daniel1662 did you tried pikmin 2 and challenge mode? Or pikmin 4 sage trials at platinum? And in Kirby is almost imposible to lose, i mean losing all the extra lives. And i almost finished 100% Kirby and the forgoten land and It was so easy compared to pikmin 2 and pikmin 4 without the rewind time.I would even say that Pikmin 3's mission mode (it is the easiest game in the saga) is more difficult than the first two Kirby games

guys, I’ve never said pikmin games weren’t difficult or had no challenge, I just said that Kirby is difficult too, the way I understood this comment it’s that he said that Kirby had no challenges at all, yes, I played Pikmin 2, I played the pikmin 4 trial and tried to get platinum, I just wanted to say that Kirby isn’t a baby game, at least not the challenges, the main game is easy fr, and plus, you can’t even compare Kirby to Pikmin cus they’re totally different games, one is a side scroller+ boss rush, the other is a well built puzzle solving game
There are dozens of problems with this game and I find it funny how most people complain about these issues and even went full on rant mode with the same issues in previous games but when it’s pikmin 4 they say they don’t care because this is the first pikmin game in 10 years

You say these are bad reviews but the one about how it’s so easy and it abandons the following fan base couldn’t be more true, they’ve done the same with SSB and it hurts that they don’t care about the people who will stick around just for more sales
I DO actually agree with one of the reviews slightly, and that's about how you can't turn off the babymode.
I feel like I should be able to throw more than the minimum amount of Pikmin for things.
you can! its just a break so you dont have to count them out carefully.
It stops you at the required amount, and after about a second you can throw more.

The fact that the first guy said that all the enemies were easy shows how he just played 10 minutes of the game 💀
Its kinda true though, they just die too fast for how much power you're given. Enemies in the last two areas are better though
I mean, having played enough to have 100% cleared the first 5 areas and am like half-way done with the 6th, can confirm: Enemies are indeed piss easy most of the time
Like, wild concept, but when you have a funny dog that can charge at the majority of enemies and instantly slap your entire army of Pikmin onto them all at once as opposed to throwing them one at a time, you're gonna be met with the critter in front of you being replaced by a carcass in the time it takes you to blink, especially with stuff like Ultra-Spicy Spray or freezing from the Ice Pikmin
The only enemies that really pose an issue are ones that Oatchi can't reach, and those can usually either be forced to the ground by throwing a few Pikmin onto them, where you can proceed to do the funny Oatchi Rush, or just freeze 'em with Ice Pikmin, since if they were flying, they just die instantly thanks to gravity, and if they were just kinda awkwardly tall, you can still wail on them more easily because aside from freezing doing the whole "immobilization" thing, it also makes any invincible parts of an enemy [such as a Burrowing Snagret's snake body] very much vincible

I'm sorry but the Darksouls, Bloodborne, and Cuphead fans need to leave the game alone and not demand that everything is made harder *when that isn't the point of the game at all.* There are other games that Nintendo has made that are meant to be difficult.
When you think Pikmin, what comes to your mind? Grueling difficulty? Wanting to slam your fist through your console? NO. IT'S ABOUT CUTE LITTLE PLANT DUDES THAT YOU HAVE TO KEEP ALIVE AND EXPLORE WITH THEM. It's cute! It's not made with difficulty in mind, although let me say, as someone who 100%ed it. The night levels and The White Sage trials will absolutely leave your ass on the pavement. The second phase Dandori challenges are fairly difficult.
And if the game is still too easy, then do what I did. Purposefully don't use items, ice pikmin in combat, or Oatchi. The game is not forcing you to play a certain way. You don't have to force the devs to bend to your whim and make the game harder. Stop complaining and enjoy the game however you can manage, but don't ruin it for other people.
These people shouldn't assume to make these types of stupid reviews to have 0 out of 10 that make no sense on metacritic.
you know i bought pikmin 4 as my first game and i liked it so much i wanted to look at the fandom and buy the deluxe titles. imo pikmin 4 did it's job
"No new mechanics" sounds as if there wasn't even an attempt to look for new mechanics.
Also, if you want an "easy" game to be difficult, then just make it more difficult yourself. There is no need to use Oatchi all the time or to have the full amount of Pikmin with you.
Parents still haven’t learned to limit what their kids can do online. Real Dandori issue there.

Funny enough, Pikmin 4 is the most fun game I've played in a long time.

The complaints about pikmin 4 being too easy is actually true. I love it! But like pikmin 3. The only time you can actually fail is by actively trying to die.

Some of these are valid points. Pikmin 4 has some annoyances here and there. Too many tutorials, too many interrupting cutscenes and dialogue boxes. I mean, we get it. The pikmin are hurt. You don't have to tell me. I feel bad already. Now I'm just annoyed. Like when your teacher walks in on you getting the wrong answer on your assignment.
On the other hand, there are many good things about the game. It seems like these reviewers have no heart whatsoever and just want to talk trash, which is ridiculous considering some of these are from actual companies.
I don't think Pikmin 4 is for everyone. I can't defend Nintendo completely. I stand by that Pikmin 1 is the best installment, and Pikmin 2 is the most fun, but Pikmin 4 is pretty good. I wouldn't give it less than a 7 out of 10, but objectively, it's a 6 at worst. Most would agree that it's an 8 or even a 9 when you put aside the annoyances.
I don't know what those critics are smoking to give it a 0 or a 3. It's definitely not perfect, but who hurt you that made you hate Pikmin so much?
Ironic the person called zeldafanboy thinks pikman is overrated cosidering in my opinion botw is probably the most overrated game of all time (not saying its bad). But I do agree with people that pikman 4 is way to easy atleast for me who loves rts. I think a hard/expert mode aswell as a newgame± is really all the game is missing apart from some small quality of life features like disabling autolock which sure was annoying sometimes but still playable.

Really my only genuine problem with the game is the dandori battles, because they're slightly harder than the rest of the game, but thats just because I suck at those kinds of challenges in games. The game is still amazing, and the people writing those bad reviews are probably from people who either don't have a good taste in games, only play games like Call Of Duty and Doom, or barely got into the game and didn't realize that games early on won't be that hard
I'd have to agree with some of these reviews. I wasn't really fond of the boss fights, and the CO-OP system is very bad. This was the first Pikmin game I've ever played, and I was still able to beat it pretty quickly. Though, this game also had its ups. It was fun to use the new Pikmin types, and the night expeditions were great! Oatchi felt a little overpowered, but it was still fun to ride him around. Overall, I'd say the game isn't a perfect 10/10 or a 9/10, but it's not less than a 6/10.

I swear these sorts of reviews have got to be people who either only play the game for a few minutes or trolls, especially with the one by "Onlyonehere" How do you look at this game and say the graphics are terrible? There are games out there that are literal dumpster fires that are making needless amounts of money yet you gripe about a quality game that has been given extra care because it is even a passion of Miyamoto, meaning even more care poured into the creation than it would have gotten. The only decent point he had was about the coop gameplay, which quite frankly doesn't even deserve to be a point because Pikmin is mainly designed to be a single player, not to mention that it actually has the 2nd player do something in story mode rather than only in challenges and battles
I played the demo and I have to say I completely agree with the baby mode review. I mean Pikmin 3 wasn't much of a challenge but this is ridiculous
It does get harder as it goes along definitely leans hard on the easy side however the elder challenges and the final 2 areas have a decent difficulty spike the boss rush is rather well laid out as well

Like, the appeal of Pikmin 1 for me is growing my army through defeating animals that are somewhat of a challenge. Like you have to aim to hit them at least. And your Pikmin are in danger from the beginning. I just don't jive with easy mode games. I'm playing Cuphead right now for the first time which is much more satisfying to play for me
@@The_SOB_II fair enough I personally enjoyed the game for everything but it's dialogue being endless if and when they add in a ultra spicy mode like they did with Pikmin 3 I do suggest you play it as though it is easier there's a large amount of unigue creatures mechanics and the level design is incredible however it's understandable if your looking for a major challenge ya wait until hopefully Nintendo gives us one however you do have to realize that the first area is easier then the rest of the game obviously with area 2&3 being about equal to Pikmin 3 area 4 is slightly above Pikmin 3 mid game 5 is probably compatible to a medium difficulty area of Pikmin 2 give or take imma give a spoiler for the both rush as some highlights

The comments all boil down to, the game is way too easy, which is true. Every enemy dies in less than a second, and the bosses are hardly a threat.

ngl the auto lock, auto count and freeze time when calling the pikmen spoil the whole experience for me and I have 20 something nitpicks for this game but even the most flawed pikmin game is like a 7

And the tangent at the end of that penultimate one is... Wowzers. Like, there's a discussion to be had around collector's edition tat, and the increase to $70, but regardless of the quality of the arguments in the tangent, a Pikmin 4 review is not the time or the place to discuss the quality of the collector's edition extra tat for games that aren't Pikmin 4, nor Sony raising the cost of their games to $70.

The Co-op isn't the greatest but I'm fine with the co-op because I don't play with anyone and the game is fun and I like speedrunning and keeping all pikmin alive I just dislike the auto lock.

Sounds like a lot of HOOPLA, I agree with alot of what people dislike about the game but 0-3 NO, not even close if the game released like most AAA broken with day one DLC and micro transactions then 3 would be deserved, its a fun simple game that just brings a smile to your face, it might be simple and auto aim sucks lol but this game is wonderful.

I mean pikmin 2 have unlimited days, you must colect gold with big item underground FOR saving your planet and complete the lore BUT IN THIS GAME ITS JUST THE SAME GAMEPLAY THE SAME POINT BUT 0 LORE nice the only "lore" is olimar is on the planet and a group a rescuer must save him, the reason why we need to recup big item is the same that in pikmin 2 so no change like in pikmin 3 with food, and that all.
and the big problem of this game you said it ITS THE FINAL BOSS WTF IS THIS (dont do like me and took only green pikmin forget their english name sry, spray them and then do the final boss you literaly just one shot each of hes phase and have pikmin that cant take elemental dmg so are just unkillable by the boss)
pikmin 2 final boss was amazing and original look: they add like 5 new spider in pikmin 2 so the boss would be a spider / the Big thing in pikmin 2 is the big
item we recup so the boss have big item to recup / NEW THING the boss have all elemantal power

pikmin 4 final boss: they add dogs so the boss is a dos/ The ONLY new mechanics add in bosses is put on 2 of the 3 new boss (scorpion and the weird blob) that is grabbing hes tail so you can attack it GUESS WHAT its EXACTLY the same mechanic with the final boss EVEN THE SAME AMOUNT OF PIKMIN NEED
this final boss is just a recycle and pikmin 4 is just a big fusion of pikmin 2 and pikmin 1 you have the same thing to do the same gameplay and you must in the start rebuild your spaceship before going after olimar then louie

i know oatchi is a new mechanics i love oatchi but its literaly just a second player that had yes platformer i know but in pikmin 3 we had platformer bcs we have 3 different captain so ALOT of thing you can do at the same moment but oatchi is just you jump or you decide to one shit thing bcs he isnt balance xd
so the REAL new good pikmin 4 mechanic is... jump... and riding a dog but it just make the game even easier
i am realy sad that after all this years we had this its not a bad game its a realy good game but not a new one its just a big remastered...

Pero si añadieran un DLC, un mejor modo cooperativo y un modo para aumentar la dificultad sería una verdadera experiencia pikmin
Que algo sea "fácil" no lo hace malo. Y no es como si no te pudieras imponer retos sencillos pero difíciles tipo si se muere un Pikmin reseteas desde el inicio para hacerlo más desafiante si eso es lo que quieres.
Lo único malo de verdad es el auto apuntado obligatorio y que no tiene multijugador decente, todo lo demás es absolutamente disfrutable.
No part of pikmin 4 was challenging. Im sorry, but the guy who ripped this game to shreds because its too easy was totally right.
We already had a great entry level pikmin game, it was called PIKMIN 3.
They watered down pikmin so much that it doesnt even feel like pikmin anymore. I love pikmin, but i honestly hate this game because it feels like Pikmin 4 is embarrassed to be a pikmin game.
Now im more worried about pikmin 5 being another brain dead baby easy game then actually ever existing.
A game doesn't need to be hard to be fun honey I'm a huge Pikmin veteran and honnestly it's really not THAT easy especially during no death you put everything like tools away and it will not be difficult it will be just bullshit
The difference between Pikmin 4 and the earlier games is that Pikmin 4’s difficulty is calculated. The challenges are specifically built to be strategised and mastered instead of throwing enemies and hazards at you. Not every game needs bullshit difficulty to be good.

I think you abused the rewind mechanic to say that Pikmin 3 is more difficult than Pikmin 4, remember that Pikmin 4 was also made easier so that more people get into the saga, and easy≠boring
