Wow this place is gorgeous! How far is this park from the French quarter? Today I went for a bike ride at a state park about 20 miles or so from my home. I saw two gators as well. I wish I would’ve taken my go pro!
The park is about 15-20 miles from the French Quarter, but across the river and not a ride you want to take by bike. shorturl.at/twP24. The closer you get to the park the more unsafe the roads are for cyclists.
@@MarioLorenzo thanks for the info! I’ll definitely try to make it out that way if I go during the warmer months. I had seen there was either a state or National park with camping somewhere outside of NO as well. I’m considering doing something like that soon too out there. I love to camp ⛺️
@@BUCKSHOTSTV I think you are referring to Bayou Segnette. I would recommend Fontainebleau State Park on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain instead. It's a bit further from the French Quarter than Bayou Segnette, but the surrounding area of Fontainebleau is way, way, way nicer than Segnette. Were there snakes on this trail?
I didn't see any. Although later, I did see a pair of deer feeding and an owl.
