Kongsberg, Norway by drone - My hometown - DJI Mavic 2 Pro

- We start slightly south of Kongsberg and follow the river Numedalslågen up to the town itself. We fly around and see some historic buildings and more. This is my hometown, centrally located in South-Eastern Norway. The town was founded in 1624 after the discovery of silver. Many German miners came. They had the expertise, but many also fled from the thirty-year war that ravaged Europe. Many names in the area testify to strong German influence. Today, Kongsberg is a city with many high-tech companies in defense, aviation, oil and gas.

Thank you! My grandfather was born in Kongsberg! Kim from Nevada, USA.
Thank you for watching!
That's cool! A lot of Norwegians emigrated to USA and Canada during the 19th century and early 20th century. 🙂 Did he come to Nevada? Most Norwegians settled in the Midwest, from what I have read. I have had relatives who emigrated to Canada myself.
You are so blessed to live in this heaven !!!! Oh !!!!
That is very kind! Thank you so much! 😊🙏
Que cidade maravilhosa. Parece um sonho
Muito obrigado pelo bom comentário! 😃🙏
Dejlig by.
Tusen takk for hyggelig kommentar!
This amazing land is my idea of Heaven!
Thank you very much! I am so glad you liked it! 😃👌
Nice views - good job
Thank you very much! 😊
Nice video 👍🏼
Thank you very much! 😃🙏
Beautiful video my friend!
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it! 😃
Me and my girlfriend are considering moving to Norway for a year or so (possibly permanently if things fall into place) and this is one of the locations we're considering moving to! It looks absolutely beautiful and very peaceful!
Thank you! 😊 Yes, Kongsberg is a quiet and little industrial town. But it has one of Norway's most important and biggest industries within defence, aerospace, oil and gas. And is close to almost everything; the sea, mountains and forests if you like outdoor activities - and Oslo. You are most welcome! 😉👍
@@ToBCreations tq for information
How does one move to Norway if they are not Norwegian?
@@austinedmund1031 if you are are resident of EU country, you simply move there and you have 6 months to get a job, if you get a job you can stay as long as you wish. And it's despite of Norway not beeing EU member.
@@pawefiett2468 is it harder for an American to get a job at Norway? I've read that it's almost impossible
What a beautiful city.😍
Thank you very much! 😊
The footage was like a walking in the sky looking down pieceful town in Norway. It is the Norway that one of the countries, I and my wife want to go in the future. Smooth flight and dinamic view of the town.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! :D And you are most welcome to Norway! If you want to see more videos from Norwegian nature I have more on my channel. :)
My daughter is looking at a job here. This is a beautiful city.
Thank you! 😃 Yes, it's a nice, small town. Relatively close to the capital Oslo, the sea and mountains, if she likes the outdoors. 😊
Tusen Takk. It was such a mesmerizing view. It refreshes my memories of living in Kongsberg.
I think "Korshet" also plays a pivotal role when it comes to the foundation of Kongsberg.
Hello! And thank you for watching and commenting! 😊 So you have actually lived in Kongsberg? That's cool. For work or school?
Yes, I guess you mean Korset, meaning The Cross in the hill above Kongsberg? You 're quite right. It's said to be the place where King Christian IV pointed out the location where the town should lay. It is also said he was drunk and pointed the wrong way. But that's another story. 😂
@@ToBCreations
Yes, I did. I was deputed several times in kongsberg for project work. I could have been there this year as well if not for this Pandemic and travel restrictions.
I always used to wonder about the insides of that main church but never got a chance to get inside it, though the WiFi is very strong in that area 😀
Also, the interesting thing about Kongsberg.
It's the only town in Norway that has the large number of engineers and technocrats.
Jonas B. and the Sushi center (near the wire bridge or coop mini) is one of my favourite places to eat.
du ha rett :)
about korset
I mentioned about korset because I like to hike a lot near funkelia and the areas around it. And one day while taking a stroll , by utter coincidence I found korset. Also you might see those abandoned mines around the places. During winter they get filled by snow and ice. And how they look during the start of summer when water permeates through them because of ice melting. It's give me eerie feeling whenever I walk beside one. But, all in all its great to be honest.
Compare to City dwellers , one can also observe that people here always meet and greet you. While hiking I had this experience every time.
I think, I have so many great things to say about it and it would be a very long essay. No pun intended.
Tusen Takk.

Thank you! It's always interesting to see or hear what people from outside think about our small town. 😊 It's not without flaws, but I think its location, relatively close to the mountains, coast and capital makes it a good place to live. And Kongsberg is rich in history. By the time the main church was finished in 1760's Kongsberg was Norway's second largest town, only Bergen was larger. And it was talk of making it the capital. It's a little hard to comprehend today. 😅
Most of my films are from areas around Kongsberg, so you are most welcome to check them out. And subscribe if you haven't already. 😉👍
Fantastic views, awesome cinematic flying and editing!
Thank you! I appreciate you saying that!😊

I see Norway every morning with Norway's 'RailCowGirl' live.
Great way to see Beautiful Norway!

Thanks for watching and commenting. 😃 I had to check out the channel and I see what you mean. This reminded me of a concept on Norwegian television where we could follow Bergensbanen and other railway courses "minute by minute". Even followed the Hurtigruten coastal route during a seven day period. 😄 Kind of strange, but very popular. And as you say, a nice way to see Norway. If you're interested in railways I have a series on my channel called Numedalsbanen. I follow along (with drone) large parts of the closed tracks from Kongsberg up the valley of Numedal. 🙂
Stunning aerial shots!
Thank you very much! 😃🙏
Wow!
It's a really beautiful and fresh good movie. Thank you so much for the bright and beautiful video.~^^

Beautiful captures of your town. I work with Kongsberg Dynamical position system on board of my ship. 👍
Thank you! 😊 That's cool. Produced by Kongsberg Maritime. That's the buildings you see 1.10 min out in the video.
So you work on a ship?

Hjertelig takk! 😃👍 Det er hyggelig med slike tilbakemeldinger. 😉
Kjempe fint 😊😊
Tusen takk!!😃
Awesome video!
Thank you so much! 😃🙏 Glad you liked it!
Flott video igjen!
Igjen, tusen takk!🙏😀
Very nice !! :-)
Thank you!! 😊
Great video! I've recently applied for a job in Kongsberg, i've already been delighted with what i've seen so far and stumbled on this video trying to find out more about the place. With any luck i'll be moving to Norway from England early next year.
Hey, thank you! And thanks for watching! 😃 I wish you luck with your application and hope things work out for you. Exciting new year.
Yes, hope you've got a little taste of our little town from my video. In my most recent video called "Christmas Time" you can see a little from Kongsberg during winter. Maybe we'll talk again? 😉👍
@@ToBCreations Tusen takk! I watched that video straight after my comment on this one :) Looks great! Maybe we will!
Du er så flink nå bro👍
Tusen takk, kompis! 😃👍🙏

@@valorantofficials3502 Tusen takk!
Nice beautiful town flight footage!! Thanks sharing!! (`・ω・´)b👍🎵❤🎵
That's my hometown. 😊 Thanks so much for watching!
You're a good pilot. I see a quiet flight. full control of the flight. The video description says you are proud of your country.
You have to be proud of Norway. She's more beautiful than women. Norway is graceful for its nature and I believe that Norwegian people are better than Czechs.
Thank you so much for that very nice comment! I will admit that I love my country and hometown despite the flaws it might have. Love your comment "more beautiful than women". 😊 I guess it depends on the woman. You are most welcome to visit Norway also. I saw Geir's videos from some of your Czech towns. I think they look beautiful and clean. I'd like to visit your country some day. Thank you again for your fine comments!👍
@@ToBCreations I just wrote the truth about what I see in the video.
Norwegian nature is closer to me than a Miss. Mainly quiet and clean river.
I believe even better people. Better economy.
Your trip with Geir to Pilsen may become a reality next year. We can make a deal. You'll try the drone flight and the signals here. We will host you for free as Geira. There is an open landscape. Yesterday I flew to 5km. Total 10km. Signal 60% strong.
I really appreciate your feedback! Thank you, and we will see how things go! 😊 How are the drone rules in Czech Republic regarding restrictions? I'm guessing they are quite similar as here? Because of hills, forest and mountains one rarely can go very far before signal loss here. 🙂
Kittyㅡㅡㅡ🤝ㅡHi.
Very good ㅡWay to go.

Hey, we're making a "commercial" for our bachelor project concering drones, and we wondered if we could use some of the shots from this video?

Your town is Beautiful !
I'm gonna move to Kongsberg Campus ( University of South Eastern Norway ) to study. How about living expense here, compare to Oslo or Bergen ... ( big city )
Please help me to answer because I'm from VietNam, which is very far to your country . Thank you so much !
Hello! Thank you for watching! 😊 I'm afraid I don't have any detailed knowledge about living expences, regarding housing for students. Only that I expect it to be cheaper than Oslo. Kongsberg is only about 100 km and 1,5 hours driving from Oslo. Food and such is quite similar all over, but generally it's more expensive to live in Oslo. I made a Google search and came across this website that maybe can answer some questions for you:
www.usn.no/english/usn-faq/for-international-students/what-s-the-cost-of-living-in-norway
I wish you good luck with your studies!😃
Could you please do a Christmas video?
I appreciate you asking. 🙂 Do you mean from Kongsberg with Christmas lights and such? I have thought about it. And if weather and circumstanses allow it I will try! 😉👍
