I have been looking around for a replacement for an aging hp desktop that finally quit. Really for what I really need it for (mostly productivity, some video watching, kids school class/work) this doesn't seem like a bad deal.
The monitor's "brightness" control is likely entirely gamma control through its entire range with the backlight itself not being controllable. This was really common with cheap LCDs back in the day. You have to find the sweet spot for contrast and color accuracy, or else the monitor becomes unusable. You can see the effect this has at 14:02, with the black level remaining constant up until 63% (presumably) and then the white level remains constant above that.
I had a i7 2600 up until 2 years ago and it was a monster of a cpu it was starting to show it's age. Although you can't overclock or use fancy ram with these pre builts (like mine) but with a overclock and fast ram it's still a pretty good cpu I bet
Let's do some quick math, the setup on Amazon is $330 US. The monitor by itself is just under $90 on Amazon, you got $20 in the headset, headset, keyboard, and mouse combo, the King Fast SSD is also about $20, the NVidia 750 Ti is about $40 on eBay, Windows, if they paid for a license, they probably did a $10 gray market key, and the computer and its RAM are probably free from recyclers, so that brings the component cost of the PC up to about $180. Add in like another $20 for labor, glitter, and RGB for $200. Even after Amazon's cut and shipping they are probably clearing about $70. Not bad.
I just bought a Dell Optiplex SFF 790 from Value Village for $11 with Windows 10. I did upgrade several things such as replacing the HD with SSD and upgrade the 4GB to 12GB, and finally a AMD R5 430.
Always fun to see these old refurbished machines being sold with better RAM configurations than when they where sold new. Dell, HP and so on could learn from this.
@@hectorg5809 That could have been a valid point if not for the fact that this is the case with more or less everything from brands like HP, Dell and such. Even what they sell as actual gaming setups. Also you don't have to double the RAM size to build a proper setup. Just use RAM kids of equal size. And why should a work stations be build purely? It's not like don't expect money in return for their products. In most cases you can build a PC cheaper than what they want for it, WITH proper RAM setup.
I laugh so hard turning the video down to 0.25 speed when Dawid makes inappropriate noises at the Dark Power Pro 13's power switch. Also I just love this channel, it has a cozy vibe that gels with me as a fellow old ass PC gamer in his mid 30s still learning more and getting better at researching good PC components, which has made my usual prebuilt purchasing MUCH BETTER. Dual channel RAM all the way, and high RAM speeds matter! Don't get me started at good airflow and more fans!
Seldom do I comment on UA-cam videos but I recently got back into watching PC videos, especially yours, and I have to say both this PC and your content quality was outstanding.
That actually seems like a good deal. The Cyberpunk performance squeezing reminds me of when I built my first rig, thought it was great then fired up Crysis for the first time (back in 2007-2008ish) and had to use custom very low settings getting 20-30fps in multiplayer- it's weird to think that now 60fps is just 'okay'.
We got my step daughter a "gaming setup" from eBay. For the same price as a n i5 2500 with gt710 with single channel memory. We got a much later (6th gen or 8th gen) i5, gt750 and 2 sticks of dual channel memory, monitor, keyboard and mouse. The case is pretty good as well, with a glass side panel. She's very happy with it
A 4GB 750ti as well, so even longer lived than the typical 2GB version. Cyberpunk used well over 3GB. The i7 3770S would be a noticeable upgrade over the 2600. Problem is however the lack of instructions that pre Haswell i7 have.
with all the perpherals thats actually a pretty good deal for a parent buying their kid a first game capable computer or something like that. the only thing i really worry about is the gpu temps maybe u can ramp up the fan speed in msi that might help alot
I wonder whether BOM just means Bill Of Materials which in the inventory/manufacturing world is a kit list of parts to make a complex item or system. So it is just a BOM code. You don’t normally see it presented that way but that would be my guess.
I am in love with the seller. I recently sold my pc with about the same specifications it had nothing wrong with it just wanted a bit of upgrade. It felt like the seller had my pc which he sold to u. Mine was an hp optiplex type not dell and it wasnt from a stripper.
My kid had something like this until I had enough handmedown parts to just buy a full size case and stuff them all in. This kind of thing is amazing for getting kids into their first PC. 350 bucks for a full PC set up is under the price point of current gen consoles so it's great for a kids christmas or birthday gift. And even though it's kind of expensive to upgrade, it can be done. As well part of the expense of PC gaming is the monitor and other accessories, so with this you can slowly swap in new parts or better accessories. 10/10 for any sellers who actually give out deals like this.
This is an amazing XP era gaming machine :) sure, you could have better graphics capability, but this is honestly everything you need to run 2000-2015 titles without much issue.

I had a i7 2600 up until 2 years ago and it was a monster of a cpu it was starting to show it's age. Although you can't overclock or use fancy ram with these pre builts (like mine) but with a overclock and fast ram it's still a pretty good cpu I bet
I have a few of these in my closet from my old IT job, outdated there, but were great I7 desktops for medium gaming.
Not bad.
Dawid thanks so much for making these videos. I have motivation to build something after 10 years (idk what yet) and the humor is top tier
This is a pretty good value tbh. Full setup with fairly capable hardware for $350 US? Not bad at all
Now that I spent the past 2 months doing PC research your videos make a lot more sense lol. Think I've had more fun parting it together than anything
hearing that power supply switch, did make my gentlemens carriage twinge, and I am not ashamed to say it.
They're old systems that were used in offices, not gaming setups. RAM was more expensive
Ok, the be quiet PSU switch was crazy.... the PC equivalent of the M1 Garand clip ejection! felt the tingle for sure!
A bit since I caught a vid. Super cool to see you killing it with the subs. Was under 200k not too long ago
The stuff on the outside of the case @4:00 looks like grip tape for a certain type of tool that makes loud noises.
havent watched your vids in awhile. I like the personal changes. The beard is as amazing as always.
She's very happy with it
These things are perfect for kid's setups. Not everyone can afford (or wants to give their kid) an expensive gaming computer!
A 4GB 750ti as well, so even longer lived than the typical 2GB version. Cyberpunk used well over 3GB.
The i7 3770S would be a noticeable upgrade over the 2600. Problem is however the lack of instructions that pre Haswell i7 have.
with all the perpherals thats actually a pretty good deal for a parent buying their kid a first game capable computer or something like that. the only thing i really worry about is the gpu temps maybe u can ramp up the fan speed in msi that might help alot
well that swhat he said 3:05. it is what is it my buddy. THE legends had spoken up
Always good to see the classic 750 Ti still pulling hard lol
I wonder whether BOM just means Bill Of Materials which in the inventory/manufacturing world is a kit list of parts to make a complex item or system. So it is just a BOM code. You don’t normally see it presented that way but that would be my guess.
@7:35, dude, I just spilled my drink HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Much more useful and versatile than any big name console... bravo!
1:20 The damage to the box probably means it went through one of Amazon's airhubs. I should know - I work at the largest one.
And your video outro guitar track was quite good as well!
This is an amazing XP era gaming machine :) sure, you could have better graphics capability, but this is honestly everything you need to run 2000-2015 titles without much issue.
Lets be reasonable here. What you get for a SUPER BUDGET PC is actually quite good. For a new gamer , second rig or a childs gaming system this would be absolutely perfect. I was impressed
'Digital daycare' truly is the best description for Fortnite that I have ever heard. Thanks for the killer one liners and the quality content.
Fair play to the seller, they actually put some thought into that setup. Its been setup well for a kids fortnite pc
