Therefore the reference to sin: robbing people while (pretending to) follow orders of a saint "cannot be a sin", right?) * "bij 't wandelen" means "while walking" or "while we walk", not "while we wonder" * "Verstomd zijn lied en lach" = "Song and laughter have died down / went silent" (this refers to the singing and laughing of the soldiers themselves, not "his" / that of the emperor.
