First it was Unser Liebe Fraue, then it was Het Vendel Moet Marcheren. What is next, I cannot say.

    Some clarifications:
    * "Dat wij geen koude lijden, geef ons den boer zijn wijn, zijn wolhemd en zijn duiten, dat kan geen zonde zijn"
    =
"(So) that we (may) not suffer the cold, give us the farmer's wine, his wool shirt and his pennies" (this should be seen as a part of the Landsknechts' wish directed to St George, directly following their demand for clothes, money and bread. Farmers usually did not "give" anything to the soldiers, who therefore took what they wanted/needed by force, or "by the grant of St George", their patron saint. Therefore the reference to sin: robbing people while (pretending to) follow orders of a saint "cannot be a sin", right?)
    * "bij 't wandelen" means "while walking" or "while we walk", not "while we wonder"
    * "Verstomd zijn lied en lach"
    =
"Song and laughter have died down / went silent" (this refers to the singing and laughing of the soldiers themselves, not "his" / that of the emperor. "Zijn" in this context is from the verb "to be" (verstomd zijn = to have died down) and not the possessive pronoun "his". The archaic word order makes this difference difficult to recognise for non-Flemish/Dutch speakers.)

@@demakkervannassau171Ah, it sounds like an old NSB recording. Do you know what group is singing?

@@therevenge192 The writer is Jan Hoogensteyn, who joined the NSB and Dutch SS during WW2. He also wrote the NSB song “Zwarthemden”, which became a mandatory song to learn how to sing within the NSB. I believe that he also wrote songs for the Flemish Nationalist Party.
