As cool as this is conceptually It's being a direct port of the Sonic CD Stage hurts it. Sonic CD had a very deliberate gameplay style of vertical exploration, combined with the time travel (Which is why you have alot of Spring nexts to each other and long straightaways at the higher points of the stage.) To encourage exploring the level and finding the robot generators. Mania is more like sonic 2-3 in that regard where while exploration is encouraged the level is more based on speed and run optimization. This sort of clashes with the design of CD Tidal Tempest Layout. I would love to see this ideal fleshed out, Same theme but with a different level design that takes advantage of the stage unique elements for speed instead of exploration, while rewarding the player for recognizing the remaining setpieces that ARE alike to the original stage.
I know im a year late but do you mean different level design as in like a completely new design like metallic madness or as in the same layout but more areas?
Over 10K views but so few comments? O_O And I'm kinda confused about why you didn't use the Super Peel Out for this mod, seeing as it's a Sonic CD stage.
I honestly like Tidal Tempest more than Hydrocity.
So I approve. 👍

Yeah, I guess Tidal Tempest Zone is better than Labyrinth Zone.

Act 2 is so catchy. It was one of the US tracks I preferred over the JP and EU versions

no idea lol
is this a mod or official
mod
why is the boss the same
Because it’s harder to code a new boss rather than redesign the level and make it look different.
Yeah, that is true though! it's hard to code a new boss, so that's why they had to use this one.
i want the act 2 remix
