  • How do you project your voice? It's a tough question - especially with so many moving parts. To make your voice louder, you've got to think about breathing, resonance, abdominal support - and a myriad of other things. In this video, Matt takes you through the basics of how to project your voice by showing you how Twang can make your voice louder, giving you some basic exercises to get started.

I went through the same thing today. I've been preparing my presentation for past 3 days. Now I'm having a horrible day after my prof. said "it would be better if you speak louder. I'm deducting your marks for not speaking louder when i kept telling you to speak louder"
All my hard work, my efforts gone to waste.
I hope you are okay now. Just remember it's not your fault. There are things we can't control.

Honestly I almost cried, it completely shattered my confidence, I fought my anxiety that time, and that's why I am here watching tutorials on how can I be loud enough for people to hear me.😓

I actually use this for a tabletop RPG character. The character is designed to not have an inside voice, so I use to shout/yell and tell people out of character that it's not meant to be the character is aggressive or I'm angry. Everyone understood without needing to be told that(one person even described it as "joyful yelling") but it wore out my throat very very quickly. Since switching to this I've felt a lot more comfortable and it doesn't wear out the voice nearly as much

You then discover those tones and styles and you unnoticeable implement those in your speech or talking?

I'm a teacher and I often have to raise my voice to a big group. My voice is low too so that barely happens. Other teachers are able to almost screech with their high pitches but my voice is more of a boom. I imagine scooping my voice from my stomach. It's a scooping voice. I'm nowhere as loud as the other teachers and my voice gives out a lot when I forget to breathe from my stomach.

My voice has been breathy for many years. Had speech therapy, but didn't help. I do exercise like you mentioned. People laugh when I try these. I just don't want to do them I don't know if I have a muscle problem or what. I can tell. When I talk it's low and breathy. How do I get rid of the air sound? I have no bass in my voice. Help please

Im so annoyed that i have to take a mandatory voice and diction course in college this semester. I have anxiety and had a panic attack earlier this year and public speaking is my worst nightmare. i just started this class yesterday and my professor already has us memorizing an aesop fable and tell it in class tomorrow ..Im not sure what to do i just dont understand why i have to take this class if im not planning on being a public speaker or an actor (oh on top of memorizing and talking in front of the class i have to act it out while speaking..IM NOT PLANNING TO BE AN ACTOR SO WTF) i need to get out of this class my anxiety has gone through the roof.

Maybe because of all the bad stuff you described you kinda need that class...

@@nibbler7687 how does that even make sense? I'm not planning on being any of those things, so why do something that I don't need in my life? especially if it causes anxiety

The more you avoid sth that gives you anxiety, the worse the anxiety becomes. Plus, having strong communication tools is paramount to life in general, career, friends, relationships, everything.

I feel you, i have bad anxiety and my speech class didnt make it any better. That was in highschool though, in college ive had to privlege of having some really good teachers. The first day i almost had an attack just introducing myself to the class. I was quite for the next few weeks but my teachers saw right threw me and in a sense "made me speak". They werent rude or demanding about it and they understood my boundaries without me having to say anything and now 3 months later and here i am actually able to talk to people! I got so excited the other day because i actually talked to a patient for the first time, like actually talked to them, and they heard me! Most of the time i work with old people who cant hear me so i stay quite but i did what this video said and someone actually heard me lol. I began to go around and anoyy all the nurses by talking and asking them questions and not once did i even think of my anxiety!!

I don't like to talk in general and/or my thoughts are too fast for my vocals.. :( i get frustrated I can't keep up with my thoughts, hence i just stay quiet... can we just use telepathy?? ( good advise with the twain ! i gotta remember that)

I have a deep voice but when I speak normally they say”speak up” or “what did ya say?” Or just flat out didn’t hear me and I think they ignore me 💀.
