I love it man. Much respect to you for being so straightforward. No fluff, professional, and very very well edited and done. Keep it up, the good work.
This is what I need to do ... when I get round to it! Instantly agreed with you to hide the chintzy side of the shelf and show the clean edge at the front! Thanks mate
Believe it or not I was looking for this specific solution and I found it in this video and also got exact the same mido controller thank you so much. Cheers mate!
Thank you, I was wondering how to get a bit more space between the tray and the desk as I have the same Arturia Keyboard. Your idea of using a piece of wood is great, I try do the same!
This was truly helpful, thank you for sharing. Working on my own studio desk and needed to find a solution like this due to lack of space in my working area. Subscribe well earned man 🙏🏼👍🏻
I like how you engage most comments buddy, you have earned my sub and great content! I hope to be setting up a home studio soon and I will learn a lot from you. Cheers!
Love it mate👌How much clearance do you need underneath for the arturia keylab mk2 mate the specs say the dimension is just under 300mm high. But is that measurement just the unit or the hight of the knobs included in that measurement. I wanna get cracking on the slide out tray before I get the keyboard. Thanks.
Thanks for this, mate. Great help! Was looking for a solution for my keyboard and was a bit worried about doing this myself. Going to give this a go now. Also liking your studio. Very tasteful. All the best!
Preciate your feedback bro. KeyLab is a good investment, you’ll get a lot out of using that. You should definitely go for it, it’s easy to do, practical, and looks good. Cheers for watching
Hi i am looking for to maybe do something like this. But i have some questions. First of all whatt for desk are you using, is it ikea or something? and second is if this is in your way for your knees and legs or if it works. And third is if an ikea table like karlby which is 3.8cm thicc and the ground material is chipboard can hold a keyboard and the rail with just some screws or if its unstable?
Hi. It’s an IKEA desk which you can see what I used here: ua-cam.com/video/uThaM-gQGa8/v-deo.html As for leg room, just make sure you measure for enough space for your keyboard, and legs to have room. Thanks for watching
Banons that’s what I need, was thinking of getting another midi keyboard to fit and you solved the issue thanks 🙏 my desk is pretty long, any ideas how I can support the middle section of the tray as I can see it bending. Thanks!
Always happy to help. I’d say get a strong/ thick piece of board that won’t bend. If not, you could run a piece of metal underneath? Not sure if that’d work, but worth a try. Cheers for watching
Thanks so much I managed to add 2 x 80cm trays under my desk, 1 for my midi keyboard and the other for the audio interface. The only issue I’m having is that they do tend to slide out on there own a bit, have you experienced that with yours and any way to fix that? Really enjoyed the new videos too keep up the great content 🙌
@@kcsoundsa midi keyboard around 4-7kg. Including the shelf, they together will be over 10kg , so I am wondering whether the runners can hold that weight. Also another question; do you feel like there’s enough leg space with such a setup?
@trashtuber6021 10kg sounds like a lot. The runners are quite sturdy, might be worth checking the specs to see if it can hold all that weight. In terms of leg room-depends on how much space you need. Measure your space, and see if it’ll work for your needs
It's a very cool job.. Thank you for sharing with us. I would like to ask! I own the same plank, and what I know is that the plank is empty inside as you know. That is, screws cannot be used for installation. Can you explain how you screwed the rail to the plank? Thx a lot
Thank you bro. The board I’m using isn’t hollow. You’d probably be better off getting a solid wood board, that way you can screw into it without any problems.
@@kcsounds Oh, I noticed I had a different IKEA board called LINNMON that was hollowed out inside, and recently I knew you used a board that is used for kitchen. Thanks for the reply anyway .. 🙏

Hello It looks like you’ve got some plumbing from maybe a bathroom running under your desk. Be careful with this because if it ever leaks you could get a shock from the electric extension lead you have by the plumbing.
I sell them 😅. Nah, I’m sure you’ll be able to find somewhere that sells them. My 1st was from IKEA, didn’t like it so made my own. Cheers for watching
You kept mentioning wide it is when you wanted to make it a deeper cut of the board. and of course, this all depends on what angle you are looking at the object. So that you know measurements are read form left to right as 1"inchWideX2"inches Deep X3"Inches High. I jusst want you to look sharp my friend.

Damn I've just noticed you have the keylab essential, it states the height being 248mm for that it's a different unit.😭👍
Yes! Exactly the controller I have, and I'm preparing to set up a side-by-side typing keyboard/trackpad and my Arturia under a new workstation.

Glad to hear that. I just screwed the batons to the desks. Make sure the screws ain’t too long so it don’t go through the desk

Get a small U-shaped handle, or draw pull, to put on the front of the wood shelf, so you can easily pull it out.
Good idea. Or put it underneath so you don’t see it?
Just a simple notch in the board will do to pull it out
Great video, wanted to do something like that for my Roland fp30, but I'm afraid it would be too heavy for those runners.
Thank you. Them runners are surprisingly strong, and well made. If you fix it well to your desk, you should be good.

hay man what's the size of your batons cheers
Hey. They’re around 25cm
what depth was your keyboard and shelf together? the runners are 9cm max but my keyboard is 9.2 then the shelf would be more. Damn.
I used some wooden battens to fix the runners to underneath the desk, which made it 125cm. This left enough space for my keyboard, and leg room
Thanks!
