Yo props on the arca plate system you mentioned. I’ve never heard of leaving a base plate on the tripod to keep things simple

Excellent tips! As a still photog. for many years, I found it helpful to carry a number of these items (tape, tools, spare parts, etc.) in my gadget bag. You might get the occasional curve ball, but the better your prep, the less devastating the problem will be.
Absolutely! Such a big part of our job is problem prevention on a shoot haha.
The little sun shade is genius. I bought one!
