    I love how the movie made it so obvious Xenk was waaaay more powerful than they were. But he has other shit to deal with, getting some thingamagic from some vault is not his quest.

    Quick cuts are almost never the right way to film a fight scene, and I was very pleased to see the fights in this movie giving us wider shots so we can actually see the flow of combat, as we should.

    Who else is learning for the first time that Sweets wrote and directed the Dungeons and Dragons movie?

    Just watched it tonight. We loved it. The story moves along quickly with plenty of action, the story line is what you would expect for a group of DnD heroes and the dialogue is quick and funny much like a typical campaign with your friends. They took some license with some abilities in order to make it interesting but they were pretty true to the DnD world. If you have played the game there is some comedy gold just for you. Still the cast has some really great chemistry and you can tell they really wanted to tell a fun story.

    This movie was clearly written and directed by someone who loves DnD/RPGs and has played many hours of it. 👍Very amusing film. The only thing that was perhaps missing was unhinged party killing their quest giver (of extremely elaborate adventure) before he managed to even open his mouth. Or unhinged party that decided to burn down every door in the dungeon with lantern oil (nearly burned to death later). 😁

    Drizzt would have been better.
    Too bad he’s too problematic in this modern clown world…. Yay progressivism… 🤦‍♂️

    • @bartell20j
      @bartell20j Рік тому

      That's not progressivism. Progressivism is the desire for change... not whatever is going on now... left and right can both have progressives

      @forsaken7976 Рік тому +1

      @@bartell20j my point is that it’s ironic that Drizzt (a heavily anti-racism character) cannot appear onscreen bc they have painted themselves in a false progressivism corner. If a white guy plays him, they’ll say it’s black face. If a black guy plays him, they’ll say dark elves symbolize black people.
      It’s a lose / lose situation. Drizzt’s saga is very anti racism and they can’t even have him onscreen bc woke infected people will say it’s racist no matter who plays him.
      It’s kinda funny but more so sad…

      @Forsaken I see what you're saying and I understand the mentality, but that wouldn't happen. Drow is a fantasy race. The keyword is fantasy. Anyone can portray them. If someone tries to put some kind of racist bs behind it, they are just crazy.
      I understand that people will use any reason to start an argument, but the vast majority of the dnd and ttrpg community will respect cast decisions.
