What you have achieved with Woody over the last 3 seasons is amazing and that's why you were invited to such a high calibre event. Dave and his crew are fantastic people and they see in you the potential to achieve what they have already. You should be very proud of yourself. Credit where credit is due.
Really appreciate you saying that, thank you. I am proud of Woody for sure, a very well rounded HH, I guess I have been fortunate having the time to spend with him. we certainly had a great time and we were well looked after by Dave and crew up there, Top people 👍
That was absolutely awesome, mate. What a way to spend a day, superb 👌. Brilliant video. I bet you lost a couple of pounds after that, thought it was Linford Christie out there. Well done to Woody, he looked like he enjoyed his day as much as you did.
@@freebirdofreason1994 it was awesome seeing everyone hunting with their BOP. Woody, did great and obviously enjoyed himself. Definitely will watch it again. Thanks, and enjoy your Sunday too. :)
Well done. Some fabulous flights there. Brilliant pics too. Its not always the catch, but the quality of flights. Bet you 'both' learned a lot during your time in my home country.
I'm a third year falconer in California hawking a red-tail. I love Woody! You two should come to the CHC meet next January. There's loads of hares and next year's theme is eagles. 😊
That would be cool! I saw a video from Old Schoo Hawking of 2023 CHC if that the one, a little to far to travel. Red tails are a lovely looking hawk, I hope you have a great time hawking. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Woody managed to chase 4 hares, and even though he never caught a single one, at least he figured out how fast they run! By the way, you ran pretty fast at 14:42! You were quite determined to keep going at those hares and I'm sure Woody realizes that! Dave Sharpe did an excellent job catching a hare with his Golden Eagle! I can see that all of these hawks and eagles were hooded, which makes sense because this gives the birds a chance to increase their strength and agility by catching a large animal all on its own! Woody doesn't perform well in a cast because he's never done that before. And if there was another bird going after Woody's catch, there could be a fight to the death involved with the competition of food! I remember Dave explaining this in one of his videos. But still, I'd rather just see Woody hunting with you! That way he's not hooded more than half of the time that he's with you! Backtracking to 1:24, it seems that Woody has his moments! When Beau started sniffing at Woody, he gave him a little nip on the nose! Then Woody started bating and tensing up! That's alright, I know their relationship will improve over time!
Mr. free bird; in watching innumerable falconry videos, as a photographer of sorts, i wonder why a lot of people don't turn off the auto exposure in their cameras, as the "background", going from sky to ground/hedges/trees, quite often loses the bird or quarry , when the camera "sees" too much sky, and drops the exposure, or vice-versa....any thoughts?
I really don’t know, I’m not even sure what my setting was on, hopefully it was watchable, I will check, if you think that is best I may try auto off if it was on using video.
Was für eine tolle Truppe. Welch wunderbaren Vögel. Ihr seit zu beneiden.
Vielen Dank.
