Finally got around to watching this one 5 years late. But, better late then never. Have to agree with you 100% about the build quality on those old boats. Absolutely perfect joinery. I enjoy a bit of woodworking myself but those boat builders were and are on a whole different level. BTW: What a difference 5 years makes in the quality of your productions. I was getting a little seasick following you but I could not stop watching. Still great quality content even if it is 5 years old. Well, little by little, I'm getting around to the rest of your videos. Thanks!
Thanks Tom! I hope I've gotten a little better on the video quality. Not sure my subject matter has changed much. I just do it because I want to share! Thanks for the comment.
Hello - I am the Director of Events & Marketing at the Antique Boat Museum and just stumbled on your wonderful video! Thank you for visiting the ABM and a special thank you for capturing so much of our campus and exhibits. I will be sharing your video via our Facebook page. Please come back to see us again soon! Cheers.
Well thank you. It was a great day touring around your museum. I wish I had done a better job. I planned too much for the day I was up along the River and did not spend the time I should have. So maybe I will come back in July for better coverage. !
Hello Margaret, I don't mean to steal a comment thread here, but who would I contact regarding the addition of a possible exhibit to the museum? I work for a boat company which produced wooden boats in Southeast Michigan during the 1930's-1950's and we are trying to sell the Machinery, Artifacts and Boats to a museum such as the Antique Boat Museum. If you could let me know I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. -Nick.
I haven't heard of the boat museum before. Going there this spring as it's not far away. The video was very good and I feel compelled to check it out myself.
Good to hear. I hope none of my video ever keep anyone from going someplace. The idea is to wet your appetite to go a see for yourself. I'm sure you will be impressed !! Thanks for the comment!
Great video showed what the museum was like but still left a lot for people to see in person. I am now planning on taking a weekend trip to this museum. Thank you.
Good, I never want to steal admission money from the museums and special places. Its one of the good things about a 12-15 minute video, hopefully it just wets your appetite to go see it. They have a special "On The water Day" with lots of other people bring their antique boats that are still in use, awesome stuff there to see, but its crowded. Have fun ! Thanks for the comment !
we were up there, 1992 , for our honeymoon , and the museum was closed, thank you, iv'e waited a long time to see this !, beautiful area, alexandria bay, !!
Thanks for the comment. The Aliner Owners Group was just there for a Rally, You should have gone.. LOL. It is much better thatn the video shows, but it give you a pretty good idea. Try to get back up there if you can. Early fall is a great time and very pretty with the leaves all changing colors !!
I finally toured it this year with my daughter. Been in Clayton every year of my life, never went in. I was just being cheap, but it was worth it. Next year I’d like a ride in one, we recorded one taking a couple out. So nice.
Very nice to see! I am from Austria and won't Turn Up there...very sorry. But...! I just was at the Lake Como in north italy Have seen some beautifull Riva boats. Aquarama, Florida and a Aquariva Super in Venice on our way back to Vienna. Wish you all the best!
Oh it looks like there is so much more to see. I sort of live in a very small chunk of it working at a place that once produced wooden boats. It is fascinating to see the creativity and determination that the wooden boat builders had in days past.
I actually did, but the video quality was really bad, so I cut it out. Sorry about that.. Maybe I will get back there for a more detailed video. This video is Much more Popular than I every expected !
Enjoyed the video tour! Wish you had gone aboard some boats to show the inside. Would have like to see the houseboat. I appreciate that you provided details like on Sunday's you can ride in motor boats, and Tuesday's are sailing boats.
Ya, I got carried away with all the stuff I had planned. Didn't really spend the time I should have in the different boats and activities. I probably should blame it on the wine tasting !!
The stone building, was funded by Edward Noble, the founder of Life Saver Candy. He owned Boldt Castle which he sold to the Bridge Authority in the 1970s for 1$ provided they would use all gate revenue to restore the castle. He funded many Northern NY schools.
You rushed the video. You should have moved much slower and enjoyed the designs and craftsmanship. Wooden boats are functioning works of art. I can imagine that when you make a piece of furniture...you rush through the process and produce a piece that has wasted the wood you used. Wooden furniture can be usable works of art too, but the furniture that you craft would make a nice toasty little fire on a cold winter day.
Harsh! I'm not producing a documentary about the individual craftsmanship of each boat, I'm just giving you a taste of what you have the opportunity to see if you visit the Museum. All my videos are done with the intention of enticing you to visit, not give you the complete experience without being there. So go visit and you can do the full 4 hour video. :-)
Sorry, unfortunately, it wasn't a phone, it was a very cheap little camera that does video in 720/30p. And I was learning... But thanks so much for watching. Hope you feel better !

You said it sad that they are not on the water . Beautiful collection keep the history alive.
They should float them at least once a year so we can see them on the water. They’re so pretty going through the water and cutting a nice week.

I like wooden boats.I thought that you might go into the cabin cruiser at 6:14 and admire the internal cabinetry.
I actually did, but the video quality was really bad, so I cut it out. Sorry about that.. Maybe I will get back there for a more detailed video. This video is Much more Popular than I every expected !
i work on boats, those wooden speedboats are top notch.
They were then, and they are now, works of art and technology of their day!
Enjoyed the video tour! Wish you had gone aboard some boats to show the inside. Would have like to see the houseboat. I appreciate that you provided details like on Sunday's you can ride in motor boats, and Tuesday's are sailing boats.
