I love how the community is acknowledging past mistakes to educate others and say it’s okay to admit when you are wrong. Growing up in the 90s-2000s, I’ve seen how much pet care, especially hamster care, has changed.
In 1999, there wasn't much information online about hamster care. Even library books recommend the small wire cage or at most the 10 gallon tank. The other day I actually cried thinking back to my hamster's cage. It wasn't a good experience and I never got another hamster after that. I'm so happy people like this creator have helped spread good hamster knowledge and have improved the lives of this generation of hamsters.
Hello!!! :) In today's video, I will be showing the evolution and progression of my hamster cages through the years. I've certainly had some cringey, unsuitable setups in past as you will see! I'm thankful for all of the research that has been shared and for sites like Hamster Hideout Forum that have educated me on how to better care for my hamster. I'm still learning! :) I hope you enjoy and thank you for watching!
💞This is the story of my hamster life but over 35 years! The Internet sure has changed everything and all of our hamsters are benefiting from it!! You shouldn't feel badly about those years that we didn't know stuff, we just didn't know and all of the best research materials told us what we were doing was OK. Like you I just kept adding on modular cages for a while and then fishtanks and now I have imported cages from Italy and the UK. But the most exciting thing is that I'm getting that terrarium that Pam from hammylux has but with a deeper substrate because I talked to the guy at Lorex plastics in Connecticut directly!! I am so excited!!!💞
Wow! Yes, internet has changed everything so much and been a great way for care info to get updated and passed around much faster than with books. :) That is SUPER exciting you are getting the cage like Pam has! (Wait, do you mean the Living World Eco Green Habitat, or her new one with the levels and shelves?) Either way, both of those cage options are great! You'll have to let me know how it goes and how your hamster likes it! 😀
I must again say how much I appreciated your videos. I found you after adopting my Syrian hamster named Kiwi and had purchased a regular wired age. After watching your video I purchased a 50 gallon terrarium for her. We both were so happy and still have this terrarium. I love how easily accessible to clean and decorate including locating my hamster. Then came my IKEA Detolf cage which I still use. You Hopping Hammy were always there to provide information, cage decor ideas and very enjoyable videos. You were my first and still my inspiration. Thank you. Love to see Kashi in her cage.
Aw this is heartwarming to read! Thank you Critter Paws! :) Your comments always mean so much and I think it's awesome you've taken inspiration and provided your hamster with such nice cages. Thank you for doing that and for sharing this!
Lol!! You honestly aren't far off with your assessment of "crazy hamster lady" though. 😂 It's hard not to fall in love with owning these little critters! They're so fun. :)
Wow your past hamster cage setup was crazy! I would get exhausted by cleaning one little section of it lol🤣. Your cages have been improved a lot! I'm looking forward to see more amazing cage setups in the future!! ☺☺☺🎆
Hehe yeah, it was a lot of work, but I also had more time and energy back then too! 🤣 (I had a dog to care for besides....phew I don't know how I did it!) Thank you so much! :) :)
You’ve taught me a lot about hamsters and I now have a 55 gallon tank for my dwarf hamster. I adopted this hamster from a lady who had two dwarfs that had 12 babies. All of them were in a tiny singular Ovo sized cage. Not even a wheel. She was 6 months old when I adopted her. I had the tank setup with different types of bedding throughout the tank including a sand pit. When I put her into the tank she went straight into the sand and rolled around for about 10 minutes. It was definitely her first time experiencing sand and the instinct she had to clean herself in it was amazing. It also seemed like she was having a lot of fun. It’s super rewarding to get to observe her in her large cage. She seems very happy. Thanks for all that you do!
This is so admirable and comforting as I also started off with a tiny pet shop cage a double decker bin cage with 650 square inches which my hamster seems to be satisfied with and it has lots of toys in it to make the most of the space I know, your cages dwarf mine but when I have the funds and diy know -how I want to make a bigger cage! You’re a true inspiration!!!
You really made much progress! I just love it when people realise , that their animals need more space. And buy them a bigger cage. Because that proves how much they care about their animals. And if u have a pet, literlally no price is too high, because you want ur animal to live a happy life. And it’s worth it with every dollar. 🐰🐹🐭💕
HI! :) Wow, from critter trail to dream cage. You have progressed a LOT over the years.Your dream cage is also my dream cage, maybe someday I will build something like it.The tooooooob set up was pretty amazing I used to have a 10 gallon aquarium, when I got Zoey( My first hamster) two years ago. My family and I thought she had a huge cage and was a very happy hamster. Then I found your channel and learned so much. Zoey is now in a 40 breeder and my dwarf hamster Henry in a DIY bin cage.( That is of course big enough for him to be happy) Thank you so much for what you have taught me, and inspired be to do.Thanks for the video.(: Have a great rest of your week!(:
Two weeks ago we adopted our first teddy bear hamster. She's so precious and I really thought my cages were big and we have more toys and other hamster stuff than we could ever use for her, but she's active like no hamster ever before. She does sleep like 16 hours every day - like a rock, nothing wakes her, but once she's awake she's a fluffy energy-ball. Ever since last year you built this dream cage I feel like I need to upgrade again. But I just don't have the space for something similar like Kashi's home. I really LOVE the rainforest cage - I admire you so much!! Kashi is one happy hammy ❤️
I have owned two hamsters, and I’m surprised. Your videos have helped me with my hamsters and probably others as well. I am now following your diy cage to make s better cage for my hamster. I currently have a regular Kaytee Critter Trail tiny cage, I am now building your diy cage though. :)) thank you, you helped tons!!
So you got a critter trail hamster cage too! I feel so bad because I really didn’t not take good care of my hamster at all and I always feel so bad. But I’m going to be getting a new one now and I’m going to pamper it so much!
Can I just say, I started watching your videos when I was 11. I had a huge fascination with hamsters and your videos answered all my questions about them. Your motivation is very inspiring! Keep doing what you’re doing!
Wow! You put this video together so well! I loved how you included old photos and didn't blur out any "mistakes" that you made in the past :) We can all learn from our mistakes! That massive tube setup was incredible! I have never seen anything like it before 😂 You are so creative and I love how we got to see Kashi *haha* 🐹
Thank you Curtis! If I blurred the mistakes, I would have had to blur the *entire* cage for Tin Roof Sundae's setup....then we couldn't have seen it at all. Lol! 😂 😂 The tube setup was a lot of fun, even though it was short-lived. Whipped Cream was such a good boy too and he never peed or pooped in the tunnels!
I really appreciate how gracious you are about inspiring us all to take better care of our animals. Thank you for making such a positive difference in the pet-tubing community!
You are very welcome and thank you! There are many who have had a positive impact on me as well, so I think all of us inspire one another to be better pet owners and that's really awesome to see. :)
There is this famous quote that says, “the expert in anything was once a beginner.” And this video is a perfect example of that! I think that a lot of people can learn and benefit from this video! Thank you for the information!! 😘🐹
I remember watching your cage videos when I was in 4th/5th grade, and when watching your new videos(which I recently discovered again, and that I love!) and I noticed how much improvement was made in the enclosures. It's so amazing to see people grow and learn about caring for their pets! Thank you for sharing! :D
Some people may think that the cage size you have now is ridiculous. I think it is AMAZING and my dream cage! In school I get mase fun of my some people over my love for hamsters but if my title is now the crazy hamster girl then im proud to be that crazy hamster gurl! Hamsters are life!!
This was really nice to look back and reflect. I think as a fellow hamster owner we all have made mistakes with housing over the years. My first hamster lived in a tiny cage from a pet store because the store said it was okay. She was a syrian and I found that she quickly grew too big to use the tiny wheel that came with the cage. She got a cage upgrade but like you I became frustrated with the chewing behaviour. At that time I still didn't know what I was doing so poor girl never got a bigger cage. But through watching your channel over the years I learnt more about hamster care and now Cloud has a huge DIY cage :)
It's wild, the hamster I had as a kid was in a habitrail and the books I took out in the library didn't say they needed more space. Thank goodness for the internet.
@jessicas animal friends below: I am glad too. It is so wonderful to show past “mistakes” of stuff that was bad for hamsters but @ the time was the standard. I loved watching all the different cages & learning from & spending a lot of money on aquariums, DIYs, & sadly critter trail types as well. Thankfully the Hamster community on here does things like this so people now can save money & do it right the first time 🙏🏻♥️
I have seen this with my ratties. I admit, when I first got them they were in a tiny "hamster" pet store cage. I was told that they needed more space after I posted pictures of them on facebook so a month later, I picked up the Petco Rat Manor since I only had 2 rats and this had just enough space for them. They seemed to be happy with their cage but I still felt like they needed more space. Fast forward to 4 months later in December and my mom was awesome enough to get me the single Critter Nation and I love this cage. My ratties were so much happier with the space it had and they even were able to get another brother since there was more space. Fast forward again 6 months to their first birthday and my friend got me the add on unit so now they live in a double Critter Nation. I am so happy that I made the decision to get them the best cage I could possibly get them cause when I first got them, they were skittish because there was no place for them to hide and feel safe. Now they come up to the cage door and want to interact with me, give me kisses and hope I have a treat for them lol.
Aw, well part of the problem is that there was so little information available years ago too, so I think every hamster owner was in the same boat and making the exact same mistakes! :) At least we have internet and better info available now, although I'm sure it will continue to evolve over time as it has been!
Wow, you can really see that very quickly after your first hamster, you knew they needed more space. You did a great job even though you had a few small cages at first. But oh well, i dont blame you 😘. Hahaha its so funny that you almost always upload a video right at the moment that im going to put my phone away so i can sleep. Haha. But its always worth it to stay up a little bit longer. I love the big cage you have now. Its so huge. I will have my own apartment soon, but im not gonna have space for such a big cage. I am planning on making a cage thats 120cm by 80cm, but that will be the end of this year or beginning next year. Its going to be awesome. Oh and my hamster got a name. Her name is Mimi. Its so cute. It suits her haha. Goodnight HH! 😘😘
Hi again! I just wanted to leave you a quick comment to say thank you so much for this! I'm sorry this week is a bit overwhelming and busy for me to leave a long comment, but thank you for all of your kind words! I hope your cage building goes well when you make it, and I definitely want to see the finished result! I can imagine it will be fabulous!! :)
your last cage is HUGE! how often do u clean bedding? each time u gotta empty EVERYTHING out...ALL BEDDING plus toys etc? i love how it looks jus like ur out in nature..u are very talented and gifted.
Hey I just found your channel from Jenna marbles and I’m obsessed! I love your videos and I don’t even have a hamster lol. You should try to do a collab with Jenna and help her make a cooler cage for ad (not saying his cage isn’t good but she mentioned in her last video that she wished she could do more). Thanks for the videos! ❤️
Oh hey I was also wondering for your DIY cages which table from ikea did you use if you remember? I would love to make my own for some of my critters but there’s so many options! 😅
Me too! I found this channel from Jenna marbles, and I’m obsessed too LOL! Aaaaand... I do not have a hamster either lolololol :D Thank you for all you do HoppingHammy, I LOVE it!
I want a hamster for my birthday and I’ve been doing tons of research over the last few months. I’ve had three hamsters before and none of their cages exceeded the standard minimum, so now I would love to have myself a 40 gallon breeder for any new hamsters I take in. I’m just worried if my parents think the cage will be too big and won’t let me get it! But anyways, great video and it’s so satisfying to see the difference between start to beginning. Also WOW, when you had all those little cage son that shelf system! Must have been expensive! 😋
I suggest waiting till your older and its Your decision. If your parents decide they dont want to pay for it anymore, out it goes. Hamsters arent a kid friendly pet because they do take a Lot of effort. Even me as an adult had two rats (way better pets) and failed. (One died of cancer and the sister got extremely depressed after that and we had to give her to someone who had more rats)
Your current DIY cage is my favorite and is what I hope to create for my Wybie soon. Right now she's in a DIY cage but it's only about 900 sq inches. We're considering building another one of the same size and putting them next to each other (with a very short tube to go back and forth from. And I'm working on a second floor to her cage right now. Thanks for the inspiration.
What a great idea for a video! I love your sparkly cat ears. It was so interesting to see your cage progression from where you started to now. All those tubes must have been difficult to clean. My cages have also grown and evolved over the years, and I'm sure they will continue to do so. I made some horrible mistakes in the past but the information was simply not available or incorrect. Information on providing good care for these precious little ones is easily available now and that's because of people like you 😇. We have come a long way in terms of small animal care. We still have so much to learn though. I hope Kashi is doing well.
Thank you very much! Yes, we do have much left to learn but it's great to see the strides that have been made even in the past 5-10 years! :) I think a lot of people have made similar mistakes in past, namely due to incorrect or outdated information that was being referred to as official hamster care guides. It's good to see so many hamsters nowadays who are getting better care and having better lives! There's still plenty out there who are living in improper setups though, so it's important to keep spreading the word to people who are willing to listen and learn!
my hammy would definitely thank you!i was going to put her in a critter trail. but I some how convinced my dad to let me get a 40 gal. He’s so stubborn it’s a miracle but she’s happy now and I love her very much!
Video request!! The Pipsqueakery on instagram has successfully made a change in the hamster care world! They spoke with a representative from Kaytee and inspired them to improve their cages, wheels, and accessories. I think that you follow them and have probably kept up with this news but I just think it is the coolest thing and thought a video spreading the news would be helpful! Plus you could give a shout-out to the pipsqueakery which could lead to more donations for the hamsters and other small pets they take care of! Thank you for everything you do on UA-cam, I know it takes a lot of time and dedication. I’m glad to have been here through the years to watch you grow!!
Can you talk about what materials your DIY cage structure is made of? What lights you use, are heating pads or spots necessary? Love your setup and channel!
I love this video! I agree that everyone pet owner makes mistakes, its the good pet owners who own up to them and make change. I used to house my hamsters and guinea pigs in small pet store cages years ago like you.. Now my guinea pigs are free ranged in their own whole room. hehe.. I also just recently adopted a russian dwarf hamster who is missing her front left paw from an injury at the pet store. Although i'd never be able to have a tank size like yours, she is happily living in a 40 gallon breeder tank and seems to love it so far.. :)
So happy to see such great evolution for you ^^ Funny that my pup Lola started falling asleep when your voice came on. Just your happy voice 😅❤ Funny edit I guess 😂 When the video finished I went through other videos and Lola seemed unsettled, i played this video again and she went to sleep immediately 🙈 She's never done this before and it's so sweet now that she has 😅😅
I use a critter trail base for my sand bath! If you have one I highly recommend. I’ve been watching you for six years! I when was little and watched you and got two robos in a critter trail! YIKES! But now I have a 800 sq bin cage with my Syrian hamster Monkey! Also I had Ruby and Bella about 6 or 7 years ago. Thanks for the fun I had and more fun in the future!
I started out my syrian hamster, Annabelle, with a temporary cage that was like one of the 10 gallon tank toppers set into a storage bin. once i got enough money I bought her a diy ikea detolf cage. She is currently in the Diy Ikea Detolf cage and I feel like i need to build her a larger cage because she constantly chewing on the support bars of the detolf cage and super bored even though i rearrange her cage every 2 weeks. I am going to build a cage like your smaller diy cage and add levels!
I literally had no idea about hamster care. After watching Jenna Marbles video that she talked about you and how cage size matters. I had the typical colorful plastic small one for my hamster. Now as an adult I can see the errors and wonder why this information isn’t more known. My future kids will learn with me about proper hamster habitats and care when it’s time for them to have a pet. Sorry for the long comment I am just a bit floored at how incorrect I had been keeping hamsters before. Thank you so much for your videos. Many hamsters will have happier lives thanks to you!
I Just love the end result. It makes all the other setups look so cheesy. I can understand why you never want to improve on this setup it looks amazing. How do they move from top to bottom cages? Cashy looks just like my daughter's hamster Stuart Lee little. Nice to see someone put in so much thought and effort over the years to make their hamster´s happy. :-)
Wow ! This is such a creative and unique video ! I'm so glad that you showed your mistakes and told us what you did wrong !!! I know it's not really suitable , but your tube setup was pretty amazing 😍! I loved how it ran through all those cages and over your desk too! You are so creative :) ! Speaking of habitrails ,ive heard of a new one that's over 500sq inches and also a new 10" silent spinner ! I don't think this can be true but I really hope it is 🤞🤞! Your earlier diy cages were so good I didn't think they could get any better ... but you've proved us all wrong! Quite honestly, I am SO jealous of your new diy cage ! Is there an award for the biggest and the best hamster cage ?if there is , then I'm pretty sure you would win it 😉! I'm still amazed with this cage every time I see it and I'm always showing friends and family members too who love it just as much as I do ! Xx
Hi HH! Your cat ears are so adorable! I love the video! It looks like you had lots of fun with your past hammies and Kashi is so spoiled! I love that ❤️
Hannah! I have missed your videos so much! I am so sorry for being inactive! I have just been in hospital for the past couple of months! I want to say a big welcome to Kashi! And her cage!
Thank you so much for your video. I was really sad because I bought 2 hamsters 6 month ago, and I made so many mistakes. Most of them resulting from asking advice to the pet shop owner. First I bought the larger Habitrail, and later I added a 20 gallon fish tank. It was so frustrating because I kept failing, but now I know it is quite common to start with the left foot. Im going now for the third expansion. I want to upgrade until chicha and bachi have the best in order to have a happy life
Hamster Community I need your help! : I cannot decide whether to buy a 40 Gallon Tank or a 55 Gallon Tank for a Syrian hamster. I am more leaning toward the 40 Gallon tank only because the 55 Gallon Tank seems much more narrow in depth . It seems as if it would be difficult to fit the larger Syrian toys. However the 40 gallon tank seems a little bit small ( I haven't seen it up close before). If I could have your input that would be great thank you!
Hi there! Is a 75 gallon tank a possible option for you? I've had both the 40 gallon and the 55 gallon tank and tend to think both are too small for a Syrian. Some Syrians might do okay - namely an older male who is laid back. For younger Syrians or females though, I think these tanks may be a waste of money and you're better off getting the 75 gallon. :)
thank you so mch for sharing your experience qith hamster cages,i honestly if it wasnt for you i wouldn't want to own a haster, i always wanted one before but i was always sad when i saw the places they lived in and i imagined myself being trapped in a small box all my life so i didnt want to get onebecause i never knew i could do a cage that was good enough and im so inspired to do a same size cage as kashi's rainforest cage! ps: the rainforest theme is my favorite aff all of yours and i love kashi
Hello Donna and thank you! 🤗 I really love wearing ears. I hope you're having an awesome weekend and I miss talking with you! I need to message you again sometime! 💕
HoppingHammy I’ve been thinking the same thing! We need to catch up! 💞🧚♀️. As I look at all the habitat designs you’ve created, it seems you really have the eye of a landscape architect! Amazing sense of materials and space!
I've always wanted to see a video like this ! I really enjoyed it thank you for making it I found this so interesting love how you have progressed over the years ☺️ 🌸
Lol I never saw this video but I’d like to mention that I used to cry too in frustration when I couldn’t figure out why my ham was upset. Glad you found solutions tho. Ik you’re not a veterinarian or anything like that but your videos helped my hamster journey👌😍
Great video! ^~^ My syrian hamster, Chester, is currently in a 650 square inch bin cage but I plan on upgrading to a larger DIY enclosure soon so I've been binge watching your channel for inspiration!
My current hammy, Teddy (female Syrian hamster) had a Prevue 528 which is 612 square inches. And she bar chewed like crazy. I new that bar chewing was bad but I didn't know it was as bad as it is. When I found out how bad it was, I felt horrible. 2 days later, my dad and I set up my hammy's 600 square inch bin cage, I was still noticing sign of stress so we attached another 600 square inch bin cage to and clearly my hamster a lot happier, also it seems that she's a lot less scared and nippy around me now. I would like a cage like Kashi's but I will have to save up some money, also I did consider the Ikea Detolf for a bit, but I thought she would chew on the bars
Hello hopping hammy how are you doing today fine I hope thanks for sharing this video with us as you said you learn as you go do more research and more experience now look what Kashi got no it's like she's in the wild she is a very lucky hammy indeed I think I've said this already you are a very good pet owner indeed you are I just love your videos they are so informative I look forward to you when you upload today I kept on looking at my tablet to see if you've uploading and how is my little girl Kashi is she less shy and scared you will do wonders with her is her personality shining through does she love her food you got Kashi before I got Bella I think or the other way around Bella doing really well I'm still seeing her little personally shining through and Bella loves her food I'm working on getting a kitten from 🐈 protection it's a place where people bring back there cat for what ever reason I've got to clean up my home a bit my home is very cluttered but I'm working on it though I will even get a kitten or a older cat see what takes my fancy well take real good care of yourself and lots of love from Jackie and Bella bye for now love Jackie
You did an awesome job and gave so much effort to give your hamsters best you could ! You mention few times that you now see the mistaes. Would you make a video where you comment them, on your example with those old pictures, why specific things are bad, what are the mistakes etc?
Thank you so much! :) I didn't mention some of the mistakes as I figured they were very obvious such as the cedar bedding, wire wheel, lack of substrate, and small cages. Thank you for the suggestion and I'll keep it in mind!
Yea..well you should talk about what the differences were in their behavior...were they stressed and inactive and ALWAYS trying to get out in small cages , did they show more natural behaviors in the larger ones and what were they
I’m so happy I found channels such as Victoria Rachael munchies place hammy lux and obviously you! Don’t judge me but me being my 11 year old self got two Syrians and bought two 150 sq inch cages and always wondered why my hamster chewed so much but because of you tube channels as listed above they have now been moved to a 500 sq inch cage (obviously separate) and they don’t bite or chew anymore I’m so happy they had a 3 in wheel (I KNOW ITS BAD) but they now have a 10 inch silent spinner and they are so happy sorry to ramble on but thought I’d share my progress
I used to have my hamster in a single kaytee cage, then I connected 2 together, then about 6 months ago I got him an exo Terra, and pretty soon I'm going to get him a 40 gallon breeder and I'm so excited cuz he's going to be so happy 😭 he was a rescue and I've had him for a little over a year now so I want him to spend the rest of his life having fun
Im Just Curious..What if you connect 2 crittertrail cages *The ones with the tube that goes up to the wheel* Would it be suitible for small hamsters (Mice,Robo)?
Great video! Im just wathing my dwarf hamster play while watching this and she most definitely approves of your wonderful videos♥️(sorry if i spelled anything wrong)
olia BlossomWhen you know better, you DO better. Thank you for helping us all know better so that, like you, we can be better also. You are so humble and modest! I would like just a video with maybe the camera being still as we watch the hamster in the beeyooteeful deep bedding. Thank you again!!
for the fish tank cages you use for your hamster. How do you get the wheel to hang on the side of the glass or do you use the default stand? I've never enjoyed the default stand and seem to have issues with it staying up while my hamster runs on it.
Your habitats are beautiful and I'm looking to build my hamster a natural habitat but every time I see you guys giving your hamster's a full apartment that discourages me that he may not be right for me because I can't afford to give up that much house space to him.I had already upgraded him from trying many critter cages that were too small moved to a 10-gallon. That was too small and was hoping to finally end the search with a 20 gallon I was going to fix him this weekend. The happiest hamster we ever had when I was a kid lived on a huge bay window with plants and he would roam the house at night in the morning we would knock on the floor and he would come back go on your hand and get picked up to his ledge window.
Your cage Evolution is great! And your Diy cage is every hamsters dream! I wish I could get another Hamster but my parents just threw out all of my supplies 😕 I had a Derolf cage and a big tank and they just threw it out without telling/asking me. At first when my last Hamster died I didn’t want zo have another one but my mum did and now I‘d like one but my mum won’t allow it 😔
Una, hello!! It's so lovely to see a comment from you and thank you! :) I'm so sorry your supplies were thrown out and I would be upset about that too! While I don't know your parents' reasons for doing that, you can look forward to once you move out and have your own place. You will be able to have whatever pet you want!
HoppingHammy o thank you for answering ☺️❤️❤️❤️ and they were annoyed by the stuff being around the house idk 🤷🏻♀️ and yes I‘m excited to have my own place to 😂 The first thing I‘ll probably get will be rats since they‘ve always been my dream pet 😂 now I have 2 bunnies and I‘m probably getting a third one in a few days! So I‘ll have them for a good while now ☺️ they’re so adorable I love them
Yeah, it was quite a lot of work, although I had much more time and energy back then too! 😀 Eventually I did get to a point where it was too much work and that's when I moved onto DIY cages, which are so simple in comparison!
I love how the community is acknowledging past mistakes to educate others and say it’s okay to admit when you are wrong. Growing up in the 90s-2000s, I’ve seen how much pet care, especially hamster care, has changed.
That habit at the end is literally magnificent like a work of art.
HoppingHammy love you
How often would you clean Kashis cage?
HoppingHammy my first hamsters cage was tiny but now it's bigger and now I know why he was crazy
HoppingHammy i look up to u what to be just like u 🐹🐹😍😍
HoppingHammy I have a 26 inch wire cage for my winter white Summer I’m confused is that a good tank or not
Please collab with Jenna Marbles and help her renovate her cage!
That would be so cool!
Marl omg yes! She even mentioned that she watched hopping hammy in one of her videos
That would be #admazing
Too bad #ad died like the day you posted this “/

True! :)
💞This is the story of my hamster life but over 35 years! The Internet sure has changed everything and all of our hamsters are benefiting from it!!
Critter Paws my hamsters name is kiwi lol
Critter Paws and 50 gallons are to skinny you should have a 40 gallon but yeah
You truly are the Crazy Hamster Lady. lol. jk jk.....You are a Hamster's dream.
Thankfully the Hamster community on here does things like this so people now can save money & do it right the first time 🙏🏻♥️
Your dedication to your hamsters happiness is inspiring. It’s great that over time you got better and bigger cages. I love your current one!
Very inspiring seeing someone care so much for their pet. Makes me feel sad how ignorant I was to such things when I had my hamster 🐹 20 years ago x
Oh and of course, thank you for making this video. I always appreciate the effort and time you have put into this
Hi Sierra! Thank you so much for coming over from Jenna's channel and I'm happy you are enjoying the videos! :)
4:06 omg how much time did you spend cleaning all that?!!
Wow I am absolutely speechless at your last cage. That is amazing and so inspiring. Thank you for sharing!
He’s so stubborn it’s a miracle but she’s happy now and I love her very much!
wow!! that end cage is amazing!! That’s exactly what I want to have
Video request!!
So happy to see such great evolution for you ^^
Funny that my pup Lola started falling asleep when your voice came on. Just your happy voice 😅❤
Funny edit I guess 😂
When the video finished I went through other videos and Lola seemed unsettled, i played this video again and she went to sleep immediately 🙈
She's never done this before and it's so sweet now that she has 😅😅
Aw, that's so cute!! Sleepy Lola LOL! 😂 Thank you for sharing that story!
Many hamsters will have happier lives thanks to you!
holy goodness thats a massive tank. how often do you clean it out or replace/go through the bedding? that must take all day
I Just love the end result.
And her cage!
wow the last one is amazing great job on the decor thats my dream cage to
Thank you! :)
I want to upgrade until chicha and bachi have the best in order to have a happy life
You're a such a pure soul! Love your channel
thank you so mch for sharing your experience qith hamster cages,i honestly if it wasnt for you i wouldn't want to own a haster, i always wanted one before but i was always sad when i saw the places they lived in and i imagined myself being trapped in a small box all my life so i didnt want to get onebecause i never knew i could do a cage that was good enough and im so inspired to do a same size cage as kashi's rainforest cage! ps: the rainforest theme is my favorite aff all of yours and i love kashi
lol your ears headband and braids are awesome! Very informative and honest video.
Lots of fun too see the upgrades! Love your cage right now ♡
I've always wanted to see a video like this ! I really enjoyed it thank you for making it I found this so interesting love how you have progressed over the years ☺️ 🌸
You should have a 24/7 stream of this cage (the last one) ^_- It's AWESOME!! ♥♥♥
I love the awesome cage in your office!
That cage is ginormous!!!
I love seeing growth
3:42 girl u must have been rich😂😂
Thanks so much for likeing my comments I really appreciate it thank so much bye for now love Jackie and Bella
Are you happy with your current cage? I cant believe its again almost a year ago that you made that cage. It feels just like yesterday.
someone else rivals my love of hamsters?? subscribed
Sadly my first hamster did live in a critter trail but my current hamster is living in a detolf! We all learn from our mistakes
I'm a newbie :D
Ohhh I see!! :) Hmm, maybe I will try to squeeze that info into an upcoming vlog in future for you, if I am able to remember to talk about it!
Hello! Love your channel! I was wondering if your hampster has access to the tank on top of the big cage also or is there another friend in there?
Yeah I just got a 40 gallon tank for my robo final and I had a 20 gallon tank before so it feels great to have a huge have
Meant to say cage instead of have
Excellent, lucky Robo.
We had a big area in a bay window with potted plants in it. “Hammy” would dig tunnels in the pots and climb on the plants ( trying to get out).
Do you have the details of how you made your large tank, what wood its made out of and how much the base cost? ;)
Hi! I haven't made a detailed video on it yet, but I might in future. :) It's made of melamine wood and plexiglass.
Amazing upgrade!
Love your video and how you've progressed. It's very inspiring!!
Love your channel I have 2 hamsters their names are Yogi and Chip
My gerbil is named Chip
So many peoplelike the look of tubes and ovos but personally, i think that large tanks look sleek and clean.
How long does it take to clean your massive cage? Also, how did you add tubing onto the aquarium cages?
Im Just Curious..What if you connect 2 crittertrail cages *The ones with the tube that goes up to the wheel* Would it be suitible for small hamsters (Mice,Robo)?
Omfg your actual cage is huge! Your hamster is so lucky😍
good idea for a video. Saving us all a lot of time.
Love the ones on the shelves with tunnels everywhere for
People with small homes amazing
Great video! Im just wathing my dwarf hamster play while watching this and she most definitely approves of your wonderful videos♥️(sorry if i spelled anything wrong)
olia BlossomWhen you know better, you DO better. Thank you for helping us all know better so that, like you, we can be better also. You are so humble and modest! I would like just a video with maybe the camera being still as we watch the hamster in the beeyooteeful deep bedding. Thank you again!!
Hello HoppingHammy
Where do you buy most of the things in the cage ? :D
Can you recommend any online stores?
for the fish tank cages you use for your hamster. How do you get the wheel to hang on the side of the glass or do you use the default stand? I've never enjoyed the default stand and seem to have issues with it staying up while my hamster runs on it.
How did you build the massive cage that you currently have set up?
Your habitats are beautiful and I'm looking to build my hamster a natural habitat but every time I see you guys giving your hamster's a full apartment that discourages me that he may not be right for me because I can't afford to give up that much house space to him.I had already upgraded him from trying many critter cages that were too small moved to a 10-gallon. That was too small and was hoping to finally end the search with a 20 gallon I was going to fix him this weekend. The happiest hamster we ever had when I was a kid lived on a huge bay window with plants and he would roam the house at night in the morning we would knock on the floor and he would come back go on your hand and get picked up to his ledge window.
i love your natural cage
Absolutely lovely video❤(And can I just say those cat ears are sooo cute💗)Again absolutely wonderful video🐹❤xx
Wow!!! She really loves hamsters! Interesting!!!
So I‘ll have them for a good while now ☺️ they’re so adorable I love them
Great video. How complicated that set up looked.
Yeah, it was quite a lot of work, although I had much more time and energy back then too! 😀 Eventually I did get to a point where it was too much work and that's when I moved onto DIY cages, which are so simple in comparison!
Love al of your video's!!
