He certainly does, he really looks after it and didn’t mistreat it at all, no wonder the boss gave him the lates and nicest Mack 100th edition to drive and look after.
Biggest I have ever drove was White Freight-liner with a v-12 Detroit and 13 speed trans. Hauling 2- 20 ft containers in a train configuration. It would be something to get behind that v-8 Mack with over 600 horse power hauling those 4 trailers.
Didn't get this attention when I used to do it.....still it wasn't about fueling and posing for the camera back then....still had to hook up trailers and unload/load...thought nothing of it.
Thanks for the compliment, it means a lot as I suffer from bipolar depression and it takes a lot to get out of my place and go do photos and videos, but I love it once there. As I was brought up with my dad owning all models of Macks since the 60s until early 90’s Good too hear you like the Volvo I shift, as so many people are giving bad comments about the Volvo gear.

@@Atila643 Mack was started in the US in 1900, and in the year 2000 was bought by Volvo Sweden. China bought 100% of the Volvo car manufacturing and owns a around 10% of Volvo trucks. When China owns a company the quality goes to nothing. At least they have factories in Australia and the US still making Mack trucks. If China ever owns 100% of Mack trucks, we'll see an end to Mack Trucks.
I would like to see more trucks and trailers exported to the USA. I wish the B-Trains 2 trailer max was on a national look evel here too. Maybe one day.
@@richardcolemanjr3749 On the turnpike in Ohio they're allowed dual 53 footers with tandem dollies. I think if they want to leave the turnpike someone else has to come and grab the other trailer and the truck just leaves with the single trailer and dolly.

It seems to this Yankee non-trucker that these Aussie truck stops servicing the road trains could do well to have small mobile fuel trucks, much like airports use, to fill up the multiple fuel tanks on a road train. All the dis-connecting, shuffling, and re-connecting seems a very cumbersome system. I would think many truckers wouldn't mind paying a little extra for the convenience. Oh yeah. Nice truck.

Still the greatest name in trucks.1000 litre front and 800 litre rear tanks. 685 hp in standard twin intakes, problably more power with the 2 extra intakes up top.
Looks like the prime mover has 2 x 800 litre tanks on the right, and 1 x 800 and a 1000 litre on the left side. Underbelly tanks vary in size up to 25000 litres, but going by the time he took to fill them and no visible tanks on the trailers or bash plates they likely be standard tanks
How big is the compressor to air up that bad boy. Got brakes for days. I drove a Mi. Gravel train before retiring. Hard enough backing two trailers to dump. What do those weigh?? My gosh that’s a lot of tires whining when he made that turn. Does he not have drops or push or push axles?? That’s cool.
So whats the Tare of this beast and GVM and GCM? Need to stop moving the camera about so its all in focus . So how much fuel altogether and what was the " damage" for fuel bill??

Why didnt he just pull forward to line up the 4th trailer with the pump hose to fill that one up after he filled the second trailer tank up. Probably save him hour or so and ton of time driving and effort. Just curious because it seems like a lot of wasted time.

I wonder why the need to unhook and change trailers. Only reason I can think of is truck stop rules about how much room the units take up on the concrete apron. 40 minutes of wasted time otherwise.
Yes, the 2 air intakes behind the sleeper 1 is for the transmission and 1 is for the diff too keep them cool, as he has to cross half off top of Australia in the remote desert conditions, so can get very hot upto 40 degrees In dry season/summer

Just a guess, 1000 litres each side of the cab, another 1000 litres on both trailers... so 4000 litres total. At $2.00 per litre, current east coast diesel price, that is about $8,000 a fill.

Designed and built by a guy who owns a large truck company of side tipper Road Trains. He’s company was worth $250 million dollars about 4 years ago and still is growing, self made man with only 1 truck. So takes a great truckie to design the extra thick concrete base, covers about 30 acres. The latest video I just posted showing the Road Train having 5 tyres replaced is the old Truck City with bitchium base full of large pot holes and small Cheers
I was amazed when I started photographing the Road Trains 20 years ago as too how they all wear flip flops 😂 But I suppose if you are spending 2-5 days driving interstate you need to be comfortable. As I grew up with my father wearing the proper work boots driving his Mack Road Trains from the 60s to the early 90s But I guess thats because he operated a side tipper Road Train and I would wear shoes as well when working with him growing up. As I suppose they definitely need them in the dirt and mud and up on the tippers evening out the load. I will have to see what the current Road Train drivers wear, as I think they would wear boots for the same reasons and the trucks going onto the strict construction sites also
With a lot of skill, my father use to be able to back our Mack with 2 extra long 40 tonne each Side Tippers with a dolly great. I have other videos I will post showing you them backing the Road Trains back to make the Road Train adding each trailer to make it soon

The only thing I see wrong with this truck is that the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Other than that, it’s perfect!

Why would you fuel up with so much extra? Thats alot of fuel being spent to move fuel when there is fuel at the other end of the haul.
