Awesome. Takes me back to the spring of '01. Did 2 runs in one day at about 8k with an IWU guide paddle crew. We took the Super Puma the second run. So fun.
Lol big R3 and R2 is a hidden gem amongst adrenaline folks. Everyone is focused on big wave surfing, but those guys don't paddle into a wave they know for sure is going to eat them. Lol this wave was taking your lunch and you all knew it. Epic.
That’s definitely what we thought was going to happen 😂 but I’d be lying if I said we went into that hole on purpose, we were definitely trying to miss it buuuuutttt that’s not what happened 😂
@@thenewfire haven’t yet it’s up at almost 11,000 today. But when we run it again we will likely try to punch the hole on the top left, get passed Seymour and left work back river right to avoid the big holes on the bottom left that are after Seymour. When we scouted it that was the other line we were thinking of doing, we ultimately decided to do the right to left move and obviously didn’t make it 😂
@@SamuelMarkLaSallewe talked about hitting the right sneak as an option, I think it would’ve been doable. Ultimately decided to hit the standard line and well the rest is history 😂
Nope 😂 I ran after it on the highway and when I got to the bridge at Banks it was rounding the corner past the cafe on the Main, finally caught it at Bikini Beach
That rocked! You rocked! Bitch on wheels! Spin cycle in the hydraulic washing machine. Yes he got that and WE GOT THAT.. What was that, a Class VIII? Great runs before that too. Love the D Rings on the back of the PFDs. Industrial. Liked the "right 8" with the homemade paddle too. Stay safe out there and keep that mini SCUBA tank handy.
Been thinking about it! Looks like it’ll probably keep going up over the weekend or at least stay where it’s at. I might go up and take pics of the crazy folks having a go at it 😂
Typical summertime level is going to be close to 2,000-3,000. But I’ve done it anywhere from 350cfs to 8,500cfs. It definitely gets a little spicy when it gets in that upper level 6,000+

Hahaha Hooooo boy! Kudos to y'all leaning downstream, but that wave was NOT having it. :P
Yeah I definitely knew we were swimming, just got to brace for impact 😂
Awesome.
Damn boys!!

I uh... I don't know what you thought was gonna happen, going into that hole. Y'all are some mixture of badass and crazy.

@@thewhitewaterstate have you made your redemption run yet? Go farther left or try to sneak Seymour on the right?

From the vid, it looks like the old days of a right sneak on Seymore is possible. Thoughts? @@thewhitewaterstate

Bad crazy!
Gaddamn!
So sick!!! Nice run boys!

Beautiful shots. Smooth editing. That drop to ground at the end gave me flashbacks.
Thanks!
SEEMORE!
Good river
My oh my . Ya make me think ..
Did you get it back over before banks?
Nope 😂 I ran after it on the highway and when I got to the bridge at Banks it was rounding the corner past the cafe on the Main, finally caught it at Bikini Beach
Is this something you can just do with a guide or no? That looks incredibly fun

Looks super fun. What level is "typical" for that section? Like 4-6k? That wave-hole on slalom looked like a muncher!

Window shaded in a raft.
The sound of the whitewater would be a much better soundtrack.
Nice vid, I’d rather hear the river.
Looks like Mike’s hole was a maneater

Lose the music

This section of the payette is no joke I have driven by it many times. Only the most experience paddlers should try it.
