Great job mate, It never fails to amaze me the way these old items literally come back from the dead to almost as new as the day they were first bought, What amazes me more though (and not in a good way) is that most people would throw these items away as they would be deemed "old and rusted" so glad people like yourself are keeping the old skills alive and saving these fantastic old items from certain death and lets be honest here these old tools are far superior to the modern shit of our throwaway society (even in a rusted state they would probably function better than some modern hunk of junk) keep up the good work .
My grandmother Gotham had that model she would make the best apple pies always scratch made, breads, pies, donuts everything grandma made was scratch using lard. God keep her safe and warm I miss her so much hope I get the chance to see her again.
WD-40 is not a lubricant, period; it's a water-displacing rust dissolver used to free up stuck equipment. Actual lubricant should be used such as a food grade grease or oil.
I know right. Reminded me of when my grandfather would clean a frying pan with a SOS steel wool pad. But then failed to repeat the washing process with regular dish soap. Yuck
Ya gotta love things with gears; a lot of gears. There was an old TV show back in the '50s called "I've Got A Secret". One year a guy came on who made a "Do-Nothing" machine. Its dimensions were about 3'x3'x3', and it was made up of gears, just a lot of gears and connecting rods. When he finally turned it on all the gears and rods began working on each other, but that was it. Pretty neat to see. Ya gotta make one.
It's a complicated piece of equipment and the only difference between it and my grandmother's [now mine] is that this makes a very narrow peel. Very interesting to watch the restoration tho.
I've never had that kind of luck with WD-40 as a penetrating lube. Cool restoration though. Can you share some info about your painting setup? I thought you were powder coating at first.

Basically, a nice job. A few things to consider: Don’t use WD-40 on a anything being used near fruits and vegetables. Since this is a fruit/vegetable peeler, I would have gone with with a different color....say red, green, yellow, or some color more food related. Also, since you didn’t make much of an attempt to smooth out the surface of the metal. (Still looked mighty pitted to me!), I might have gone with a Hammerite paint which works well and looks well on pitted surfaces. Otherwise, looks nice.

A superb job of restoring the fruit peeler, and it works. Good work.

Parabéns, paciência heróica! Ficou muito bom!
Thank you for posting this great video!
Just one thought: maybe WD-40 is not optimal for lubricating anything related to food products?
WD-40 is not a lubricant, period; it's a water-displacing rust dissolver used to free up stuck equipment. Actual lubricant should be used such as a food grade grease or oil.
I know right. Reminded me of when my grandfather would clean a frying pan with a SOS steel wool pad. But then failed to repeat the washing process with regular dish soap. Yuck
I love the smell of WD-40 in the morning😁 Don't like the taste of it though.
I don't care what other folks say about your choice of fruits; that's a darn good zester you've got there. All rind, no white pith. Good job!
Thank you very much!
wow very good

I would love a peeler like that
I think you found the exact max size job for that Dremel tool; any bigger and you would have had to move up to the angle grinder!
Good video and mesmerising to watch that Orange peel fly.
This was hella dope!!!
For food items i just use olive oil as lube instead of wd 40
Ficou muito show, amigo. Parabéns!
Muito obrigado, amigo!
Wow! Good job!!!
Thank you very much!
Great restoration! Keep it up

Darn evil screws... lol. They take no prisoners, lol

Show de bola. Muito bom.
you recover very well
I have the same one but mines red,! Great job restoring it back up!
Thank you very much!
When you use a screw diver that’s not he correct size for the screw slot I cringe !
Beautiful restoration. I have never seen such a device, I really appreciate people who restore such old things.❤️❤️👍👌
This is not a restoration, this is a renovation
Thank you very much for watching the channel, friend!
Good job
Thank you very much!
Excelente profissional, muito bom.
Parabéns meu amigo...
Muito obrigado, amigo!
Well done👍
Thank you very much!
Great job, but not so sure I would've used WD40 on a tool handling food ✌️
Probably isn’t planning on using it for food; just for decor.
Which WD-40 is that that you are using? Because ive never seen it spray that good before.
i swear its very good job bro ☺❤
Thank you very much!

Great job on the restoration👍🏾 And I liked the video 💙
Thank you very much!
So rusted, worn and abused, it couldn’t possibly be salvaged, let alone restored. And yet, every time, you work some kind of magic! 🤟👌
love love love!!!!
Thank you very much!
Pre-prepared prior to disassembly?
Muito top 🇧🇷👍
Muito obrigado!
and then he uses it on the one type of fruit no one would ever want to peel like that 😂
It would be useful in making marmalade or something
Quite. Peeling an apple would’ve been a better test!
Its a fast way to get zest I suppose
agreed lol😂
Great looking gadget, well done.
Thank you very much, friend!
Great
FOCUS!
Maravilhoso queria um dese
Great!!!!
Thank you very much!
I miss my dad’s kitchen gadgets.
I miss Little Debbie pecan pies.
Sometimes it's better not to make machine for the work, which can be done easily by hands .
Angle grinder is more affective than a rotery tool

when dealing with a streight notch screw, it is very important to use the right size screwdriver...not a small one for a big notch..just saying
Why did you brush on chocolate milk?
Sucesso
The whole thing is so rusty, but the springs work like in day one and aint broken? Weirf
I notice that you quit often use the wrong size screwdriver. It does make a difference.
You know what's funny. I thought this is an old bicycle wheel truing stand.
Did you ever notice that picture just need a few touches and bit is a Salvatore Dali lanscape.
this says old fruit peeler.. but the orange used did not look over ripe???
I'd appreciate it if you try to make the object work before disassembling it. It shows better what your real work was. Thanks.
What won’t they think of next
Probably work better on an apple or some fruit like that. Never seen an orange peeler before...
one tip: audio normalization, especially the hammering part was hard to watch, had to skip.
Fixe a morsa e o esmeril na bancada, please.
WD40 não é óleo lubrificante cabeçudo!
For me, having music in your tool restoration video kills the entire thing. The video was okay otherwise and the restoration was superb.
A grape! Try it with a grape! 😂
Nice job, but get some new screwdrivers! :)
I cringe when people sandblast parts and then don’t treat them straight away. They flash-rust.
you must use other lubricants instead of wd40
WD-40? Really?
And I thought I was clever using WD-40 on the garden gate hinges.
WD-40 is a solvent, not a lubricant.
@@lakerfan82k3 It does work on garden gate hinges, yes? No squeak and moves easily.
